A new topic instead of posting suggestions in the "Capers is an outstanding coach" thread.

I want somebody who is flexible and can tailor a defense to the talent we have--see Hyde and Heyward becoming Pro Bowl defenders the year after leaving Capers.  And, I want TT or the new GM to draft players that fit that defense, instead of prospects such as Datone Jones, Quentin Rollins, etc, who the GM hopes will develop to be a player in the defense.

Yes but we should wait until....you know...he's actually terminated

I'd like to see every question in the post-game press conference be about who Capers' replacement will be.

I want our new DC (assuming DC is gone) to hold opponents to 100 yds/game (or less) and 6 points per game (or less).  In addition the new defense must cause turnovers and at least 2 of them results in TDs per game.  Then we won't care what a Hundley lead offense produces.

Great choice!

All I would need to do is log on here during the games and read what the brainiacs think.......then do the exact opposite.

I would recommend Mike Zimmer.  I hear he’s really, really, really, really, really good with defenses.

Why should his family and friends have to put up with his BS?  What do you have against them?

Waiting for the fam to get rounded up.  Heading home after another victorious attendance of the 13-3 Vikings!

Happy New Year, everybody!

*sigh*.......so nice

Do they really want a similar defensive scheme?

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/...ordinator-dom-capers

The Packers have several in-house candidates to replace Dom Capers, including associate head coach for the defense Winston Moss, cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt Jr., safeties coach Darren Perry and defensive line coach Mike Trgovac. Of that group, only Trgovac has previously served as an NFL defensive coordinator. He ran the Carolina Panthers' defense from 2003-08. He came to Green Bay with Capers in 2009.

The Packers also could look at outside candidates. At the top of that list would Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who was Capers' defensive coordinator in Carolina from 1995-98 and runs a similar defensive scheme.

So, you're gonna get together with your parents and siblings? That's the only family you have because there's no way a person of the opposite or same sex for that matter would ever copulate with you.

Ahhhhhhh...hahaha.

Hey this is a great way to spend New Years.

I'm hoping our new DC simplifies the defense a little bit so our young guys can actually just PLAY instead of these "mis-communication" issues we constantly had

The Journal-Sentinel listed 10 possible candidates.  These guys won't all be available but I thought it would be interesting to stack up their records as NFL defensive coordinators (does not include head coaching results!) and see how they compare.  I've also included Mike Trgovac since some think the Packers would just promote someone internally.

Name / number of seasons / average seasonal yardage allowed rank / average seasonal points allowed rank / takeaway rank / average of yardage-points-takeaway rank

Chuck Pagano - ONLY 1 SEASON = 3 / 3 / 13 / 6.33

 James Bettcher - 3 seasons = 4.33 / 13.33 / 7.33 / 8.33

Rex Ryan - 4 seasons = 3.5 / 9 / 12.5 / 8.33

Mike Pettine - 5 seasons = 5.4 / 13.4 / 9 / 9.27

Mike Trgovac - 6 seasons = 12 / 10.83 / 12.67 / 11.83

John Fox - 7 seasons = 12.86 / 11.71 / 15.4 / 13.33

Gus Bradley - 5 seasons = 15.8 / 12.2 / 13 / 13.67

Marvin Lewis - 7 seasons = 12.57 / 12 / 16.86 / 13.81

Mike Nolan - 17 seasons = 15.82 / 13.53 / 12.59 / 13.98

Paul Guenther - 4 seasons = 17 / 9.5 / 16.25 / 14.25

Teryl Austin - 3 seasons = 16.25 / 15 / 16 /15.75

Vic Fangio - 18 seasons = 15.78 / 15.39 / 17.56 / 16.24

Gregg Williams - 16 seasons = 15 / 14.81 / 19.31 / 16.38

John Pagano - 5 seasons = 15.4 / 18 / 19.2 / 17.53 (1)

Steve Spagnuolo - 6 seasons = 19.5 / 18.67 / 16.36 / 18.17 (2)

Vance Joseph - ONLY 1 SEASON = 29 / 18 / 11 / 19.33

(1) - Did not include 2017 as Pagano took over defensive coordinator duties in late November

(2) - Included 2017 even though Spagnuolo took over head coaching duties late in season
