Austin's defenses have finished 21, 13, 23, and 3 in scoring since he's been in Detroit (average ranking of 15). Dom's defenses have been 26, 21, 12, 13 over the same span (average ranking 18). Slight improvement in recent track record. Over his career in GB though, Capers defense have an average ranking of...15.

How many first & 2nd round draft choices on Green Bay's defense?

How many on Detroits?

Maybe it's just me being a racist - but I think our defensive players will respond much more to a person like Teryl Austin, rather than a 67 year old Toupe' wearing white guy.

Just a thought.

Every other team is freaking out about the Packers, because they all know what's coming in 2018.

  • HOF QB
  • Team has a crap load of draft picks
  • Team selects in top half of draft
  • Team has a lot of cap room

Rodgers is gonna play pissed off when he gets a chance to play.

All we need is something to bring it all together in 2018. 2 good players from this draft in April. Hopefully on the offensive side

Because what round you were picked in guarantees success. Jamarcus Russell is up for MVP again this year isn’t he? Eddie Lacy just won the rushing title with Seattle didn’t he?

The Rooney rule is f'ing stupid to begin with... I don't know the answer to the questions listed above, but I'd venture to guess both answers would be yes.

I might be putting waaaaay too much faith in humanity, but I cannot believe that a professional sports franchise would pass over a promising coach, GM or whatever simply because he was a minority.

I'm not crazy about Whitt or Perry getting the DC job either. The only thing I hope  for if either is hired is that they disagreed with Dom about how things should be done, but with Dom being the DC they had to capitulate to him.  This could explain why so many times the DBs were out of position. The were listening to their position coach when the DC was calling something else.  Maybe they went to MM later in the season and that is why Dom was let go.  Could this be possible and that is what Ha Ha and Randall were talking about at seasons end?

I'm telling you, by the time gb gets their heads out of their butts hiring a gm, all the choice co-coordinators are gonna be gone.

Coordinators/asst coach decisions are not impacted by the GM search. McCarthy is the HC and has control over his staff, that is the way it has been in GB since Harlan saved the day.

GD is right, Rooney Rule only applies to HC and GM/Exec VP type roles.

Except with the "rumors" that MM might quit if Ball gets the GM, who in their right mind would take a gig where your new boss could be out the door the very next minute.  The lack of a true transition plan in place is detrimental to the team and it is pretty clear that they knew things were changing in the GM role months ago.

Well, if McCarthy calls and asks if you want to talk about a coaching spot and you are worried about rumors, you ask him about that. Then he probably tells you to piss off, because he is the head coach.

I'm not buying the rumor. He may not like the approach Ball takes to FA and contracts, but I'd be surprised if he walked away from $18mm over 2 years with a wife and step-kids who are entrenched in the GB community.

Not sure why Elliott Wolf isn't getting talked about more for GM?? He's who i want. The conspiracy theorist in me(or maybe I'm actually on to something), is Murphy is skeptical about hiring him, because he's worried Elliott would be active in Free Agency like his dad was. Signing veteran players(better then stop gap type of guys), seems to be a disease in GB since RW left. Had it not been for FA signings, the Packers NEVER win the Super Bowl under him. That's a FACT.

For those of you that say "they have signed FA's", I'm not talking "street" FA's, which is most of what they have signed. I'm talking Unrestricted Free agents that can actually play, especially pro Bowl types.

This may rub some folks the wrong way.

But, I would love to have Jim Swartz as our DC.

Crap HC, but a super DC in my opinion.

he knows how to get his guys to play.

GB has the talent, they just need someone to get them playing.

HA!  "they have the talent"

And you ham n eggers wonder why the rest of the league's fan bases laughs at yours.

RE: Moss - Wilde mentioned yesterday or today that he has heard from people inside 1265, that he trusts, that Moss is not high on the list for the DC job.

Thank Christ!

Just checking in.  So Queens fans have slithered out of the closet to talk smack because it looks like their team might finally go somewhere?
