Another loss for Baltimore: The #Titans are expected to hire #Ravens DBs coach Dennard Wilson as their new DC, per @Schultz_Report. Wilson was a potential option to replace Mike Macdonald, but he opts to take a job on Brian Callahan's staff in Tennessee.
So far my biggest negative I’m reading is Pettine’s view of success. “Is this guy gonna make me money??? If you lose trust of a player they just tune you out?!?!?!?
What D Coordinator that’s ever amounted to anything ever said or felt that way??? Can we fire him again?

There's a crazy story Hafley tells in the video above where he was actually hired by the Buffalo Bills by Pettine. It was a grueling two day interview. Hafley gets the job and after getting ready to move, finally flies up to Buffalo in the middle of a snowstorm to start his job. After he arrives he gets a call from Pettine telling him he actually just left Buffalo and took a job with Cleveland and Hafley should come down and work for him there instead. Pettine never told Hafley any of this before hand.
But Hafley just signed his contract with Buffalo and Pettine took all the assistants with him to Cleveland so now nobody he met in Buffalo during his interview still works there.
Coach in Buffalo tells Hafley that Pettine mentioned he wanted to take him to Cleveland and that he can go if he wants to. So Hafley gets on a plane to Cleveland the same day to go work there instead.
Just an Insane story and makes me think Pettine is a fucking dolt.

Sherman also called Love a bust before he had even started a game as the starter. He sounded pretty certain about that proclamation.
This hire would have made a lot more sense a year ago before MLF asked the new guy unfuck a lot of passive non aggressive tendencies Barry tried to cement last year with a very young roster.
Hafley teaching press technique at a clinic when he was DC of Ohio State.
Scott called it at 1:39p today.

FWIW, LaFleur and Hafley aren’t close friends as some have reported. He knows Hafley through his brother, Robert Saleh and Kyle Shanahan, all of whom worked with Hafley. They knew each other but weren’t ever on the same staff or guys who spoke often. https://t.co/jpXeeKkdVL

Did he work with Love on a day to day basis? I can't stand Sherman, but he has a lot more familiarity with his position coach. I don't see him as a guy that shares praise over someone he doesn't care for and was an established vet when Hafely earned his respect. It's an anecdote that can be put in the positive bucket for Hafely, imo.
This Scott also told Peter Bukowski to “mark it down” that Hafley would be hired about the same time. Dude apparently also lives in the UK.
He’s now going viral with X posts asking what the Powerball numbers will be on Friday.

Not true. Not on timesfour.
Hafley is going to be the savior of this defense. The offense is will become unstoppable with a defense that strikes fear into the hearts of all opponents.
This team will become the envy of every fan from every team ever!
I said it first, so when it happens, remember it was me.
Good take on Paul Farrington's YouTube channel. If you guys haven't checked them out yet, they are worth the time. Even though it's technically a Vikings channel.
From Silverstein at JSO. Interesting development, looks like the Packers defensive asst’s WILL be looking for jobs:
”Hafley's hiring will likely mean some changes on the defensive staff. LaFleur has told the assistants they are free to explore other options, a source said, but he probably will have to sit down with Hafley and find out how many coaches he wants to bring in from outside. When Barry was hired, LaFleur kept everyone on staff and didn't let Barry bring in people he knew and trusted.”

Just pointing out that he's been wildly wrong before. I hope he's right in this case regardless.
If we had an assistant to easy third down conversions, he can go. Maybe the wide open receiver coordinator can go too.

Their content is pretty good. But they're definitely riding the GB bandwagon because they know it gets clicks.
I wanted press coverage. Hoping for the best.
@Pikes Peak posted:Yup, I’ll give him a game or two.
Three games. All in preseason.
@titmfatied posted:I think that was said about Mike Neal if I'm remembering correctly. I think Mike was also caught up in a 'supplement' scandal as well.
Ambien will do that to you.
Could we bring Al Harris in as DB coach? If we need to bring him in on promotion he could be assistant head coach of DB development. We need someone who will teach our guys to smack them in the chops at the line of scrimmage and then run with their receiver stride for stride while insulting their momma.

They were not as good as soon as Hafley left. https://t.co/MO2A9YsGP8
This is something to think about right here. I have a quite a few die hard O$U fan friends and they all got in touch with me saying that their defense regressed without him after he left.
I am willing to give him a benefit of the doubt because he demands press coverage and no soft shell zones anymore.
@PackLandVA posted:If true, not really surprising as Green Bay doesn’t, and never will, have an endless coffer of money to pay players not to play and coaches not to coach.
I think fans sometimes forget this.
You are forgetting the gold mine known as the sledding hill.
So Hafley went to the 49ers when hired by Chip Kelley. But since Kelley only lasted the one season the 9ers kept Hafley under the new regime. Somebody liked what they saw, that means something at least to me.
I wonder how this hire changes Gute and Co.'s big board? I'm thinking we still need to draft a CB, as Preston will now have to spend more time, on the DL getting after the QB, rather than covering a WR.
@artis posted:Sherman also called Love a bust before he had even started a game as the starter. He sounded pretty certain about that proclamation.
Sherman is trying to make a name for himself on the TV sports shows as an analyst. If this coach, or any other person, had anything to do with the 49ers, Sherman would be singing his praises. Sherman railed against the Packers after they lost to the 49ers. I do not think he and I watched the same game. The Packers could have won that game, not that Sherman would ever admit it.
Given his style and emphasis, It would seem that we will be drafting linebacker and safety for sure now.
