Problem was and is EDS. Counting on Tretter was not realistic this season.

So, it's ok to count on a rookie, except if he's from Cornell. Cornell players must be in their 2nd NFL season minimum before they can be relied on, because Matt Birk went to Harvard and didn't start right away. Am I getting this right?

1. My original post was that they went into this season relying on EDS at Center.

2. A poster responded and said that's why they drafted Tretter (indicating that Tretter was somehow going to win the spot this year - had he not been injured).

3. I stated that it was very unlikely that a rookie from Cornell would be the starting Center and the team was stuck with EDS for  2013.

4. The poster then brought up Birk.

5. I merely pointed out that this was meaningless as Birk did not start as a rookie, which was the original point regarding Tretter.

First round pick from a big time program with strength and conditioning programs well above what Cornell has.

To explain the fallacy in that reasoning would set this board back about 9 years.

Yep, needed to be done.

Didn't have much choice...

-- didn't want to use Cobb after losing Finley - depleted receiving options.

-- didn't want to use Franklin - only healthy RB.

Just once I'd like to enjoy a big win without the Pack getting potentially devastating injuries.  Great game and yet knowing that a guy like Cobb may be seriously hurt totally takes the pleasure of a huge win away fom me.

This easily has to be one of the toughest first quarters of a season in a long while.  Physical and/or playoff teams.   Run game is picking up but Rodgers needs to get his head screwed on right and sync with a new batch of receivers.

Promote White, sign Tyrone Walker if he's available...maybe see if any WRs are on the trading block. Hope like hell Jones comes back at some point. I have no faith in Cobb playing the rest of this season.

There's no magic fixes here, I'm afraid.

I agree. It sure looked bad for Cobb. Being wheeled out on the cart usually means the end of the season. I hope Jones can heal up quickly.

I think Jones might miss a week, maybe 2. Looked like a hyper extension. Finley had two huge catches in the 4th and Jordy's TD came with Cobb and Jones on the bench. let's get Boykin a week of reps with the starters. This offense is still dangerous thanks to what's shaping up as a nasty running game.

TT trade with the Vikings?? No way.

Yeah, it was more wishful thinking than anything.
