Ya, James Jones, who led the NFL in TD receptions last year, and Jordy Nelson, who was second in the NFL in TD catches in 2011. Mediocre talent. Eddie Lacy, on track for over 1,200 yards as a rookie, mediocre talent, too.

I could name at least 30 other teams in the NFL that would love to have mediocre talent like that.

Not if those 30 teams watched the last 2 games...

Matthews on the GBP website: β€œAs a defense, the last couple of weeks for sure we haven’t been accountable to our offense and haven’t really helped them out,” linebacker A.J. Hawk said. β€œThey’ve been helping us out forever it seems like. We got a little life with the sack-fumble toward the end, but we have to find a way to keep making those plays happen.

β€œWe need to stand up as a defense, for sure.”

Well, duh. It has been forever and it's way past time. Quit talking about it and do it!

I am so sick of the loser mentality this team has had since the Super Bowl.  TT and MM are more worried about "staying the course" than actually putting a competent defensive unit.  I am so sick of them losing the same f**king way year in year out.  Is anyone surprised that Kaepernick ran for 100?  Because it looks like Capers was.  And if it wasn't scheme then it was execution and there is no excuse not to execute your game after 16 f**king games.  Please God fire him this offseason.  But of course that won't happen because there is absolutely no accountability on this team.

Ugh.  Sorry, had to type that.  Flame away but I needed to get that off my chest.  Just so frustrating to watch this team lose like this.  Other than 2010, I can't remember when this team had a dominant defensive unit.  On that last drive i called that Kaepernick scramble.  Not bragging either b/c it was so obvious that I'm sure we all saw it.  Maybe Bush screwed up but again, there is no accountability b/c Bush will be given his participation trophy and brought back next year.  That's just what the Packers do now.  AHHHHHH this is so frustrating.

We ****ing HAD IT! WE HAD IT IN OUR ****ING HANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly hope that someone from the Panthers breaks Kaepernick's leg next week. I'm not going to keep on pretending like I don't anymore. Someone just needs to get a good, solid shot to those twigs, and that'll be all she wrote.

Classy

They gave it a go the last few weeks but in the end it was a season of clichΓ©s- too little too late, close but no cigar, blah blah blah.   The injuries certainly didn't help but some of the preparation and execution left something to be desired as well.   SF simply owns us until we prove otherwise and they could and should have beaten those pricks today.

I hope it sticks in their craw all offseason and they come back and actually do something about it instead of sitting around talking about it.

Different year. Same problems.

Our interior linebackers are the worst in the league.

Our safeties are inferior. I thought Burnett  was someone to build around, but I'm just not seeing it.

Aikman has preached about the lack of containment each week and it continues to be a problem.

These type of games come down to a couple plays that make a huge impact. Williams not intercepting an early pass in the endzone. Hyde dropping a difficult but catchable ball. James Jones not coming up with difficult but catchable balls on a couple occasions.

Good teams find a way to make those plays.

Think of the long Cobb play near the end of the game.   The SF safety (Reid) makes a difficult but important TD saving tackle.  The Niners defense did that most of the day today.  They were technically sound and fundamentally they were nearly perfect.

How many times did we see (again) GB players out of position, or missed tackles, or bad angles, or dropped INTs, or other mental mistakes?   Too often.   In a game like today that was the difference between winning and losing.

EXACTLY what I was telling my daughter as we watched the game. 49ers missed very few tackles which is why we made very few "big" plays. They just have better players than we do.

Well, been on the forum a while now, never posted, and beginning of this season, created an account.

I know that the haters gonna come out on this statement, but my personal take is that the D does not win games, it keeps you from losing. If you are relying on D, or special teams, a-la the Chicago Bears of previous years, your luck eventually runs out when you play good teams instead of mediocre teams.

The O was and has been terrible.  Rogers or not.  The first several games of the season before Rogers got hurt, it was so frustrating because the O continuously going 3 and out, over and over..

Terrible O play calling, MM, Terrible O line, just terrible.  I know that for NFL revenue purposes, keeping the traditional rivalry of Bears-Packers alive is a cash cow that they wont give up, but I really dislike those niners, and to have to watch the Harbaugh schmuck on the podium now, well its just makes me want to mouth defecate.  Just venting, lets hope for some rebuilding on the Offense during this off season.

I really thought this was going to be a Saints-Seattle style blowout, or a Packers-SF previous match up blowout.  Kudos to the D for keeping this one close.  For the record, I would have went for the TD on 4th down, instead of that last field goal, I would rather win big or lose big, than be nickel and dimed to death and beaten by the clock and a field goal.
