@RapSheet:  While Aaron Rodgers was negotating his contract, he knew Davante Adams would never play for the #Packers again. The situation was too far gone. Something had to give. And when Adams informed GB he wasn’t playing on the tag, talks got fired up. Now, Adams will be on the #Raiders.

Trading Rodgers is the only move that makes sense to anyone but "THEM," at this point, but THEM is all about winning the NFC North not winning SBs so why not bring old Rodge back to win another one I guess.

When THEM passed on taking a WR in the historically deep 2020 draft and opted instead to spend a 1st and a 4th on a QB it told anyone paying attention what the FRONT OFFICE is really about.

It was only about the money for him. Congrats on the money at the expense of any chance at breaking any records or getting anywhere close to even an AFC Divisional game.

Packers want to extend Jaire, Jenkins and Rashan Gary over the next two years. That wasn’t going to happen if Adams got a mega deal along with 12.

17 was a great Packer but I think 1265 made the right move… let’s see some more details on the compensation, though.

This was yet another great move to make sure the team remains good enough to compete for NFC North titles.

Let stupid teams like the Rams & Bucs trade away picks and sign free agents like Alan Robinson.

We really needed to create cap space to sign our own.

Tis' a shame that ESB got away after his stellar 4 seasons in GB.

Maybe not too late to thrown some big $ at MVS?

What GB must absolutely not do is break its 2+ decade long streak of never trading away a round 1-5 pick for a real live NFL player ... cause drafting for the future is what has separated the Pack from all the lesser franchises in the NFL.

So now maybe 5 draft choices in the top 100.   Maybe we can win a Superb Owl with the QB taking up more that 13.9% of the cap.   Twice even.

Source: The Packers were willing to pay Davante Adams as much or more than the Raiders are. It came down to him wanting out and to play with Derek Carr, his college QB. Also per source, Aaron Rodgers knew this was coming and still signed his new Packers contract.

The Raiders gave him 5/141 and change. I doubt the Packers were touching that.

So I call BS on that source.

Why would Rodgers take a pay cut to help bring back Adams?   Why would Adams take less than market value to return to GB?

It’s always about the money.  What a shocker.

Adams just spent 10M+ on a home and property in Vegas.  Pay that man and win 8 games with the Raiders.  

On Twitter they're saying a Raider player is involved with the picks, but I don't know if it's true.

This also fits the M.O. going back to the Javon Walker era. The Packers just do not do 3rd contracts for positions like this.

So now begs the question…is MVS a Packer in 2022 and beyond?
