I still think GB needed/needs to add a bonifide #2 guy to add to the offense.

Don't disagree but from what I've been hearing the Pack liked Jefferson & Aiyuk both of them out of reach.

The last player available in the Packer tier was the QB.....so they took their guy.

One last thought.....Fuck the Vikings from here to eternity.

... Personally, I think Rodgers will come to camp and quite enjoy showing the rook just how good he still is, and possibly come to enjoy the unofficial process of mentoring. The players and organization can make what they choose out of this. They can allow the salacious media to steer the story, or come into camp ready to get after a ring. It's all within their control.

I can see this happening. If Rodgers does that, he totally cements his legacy in GB and the NFL. There are so few QBs who mentor young players.

Here's what I can see happening: in the first year, Rodgers primarily shows Love what to do and how to do it but Love has to ask, and in games Rodgers is absolute dynamite. In the second year, Rodgers starts to help Love in diagnosing defenses, setting up plays, etc.; in other words, he becomes a teacher as well as a mentor. If Rodgers were to do that, he leaves GB as an absolute legend.

Hey, a person can dream, right?

Given how this season has gone, the strength of the defense (no, seriously), and the overall team cohesion I would imagine Rodgers will now restructure. They will continue to be one of the few super bowl contenders for the duration of his career. I don't see him going to a rebuild team to try and make the playoffs a few times.

He'll either restructure or retire...

Unless Brady retires and TB goes all in again and tries to pick up Rodgers...

Yeah, with the way QB's are treated these days he's not going to retire until his body and arm tell him it's time. And why leave a team that is absolutely loaded on the OL to start over somewhere else?

He might still hate Gutey and WMM with a white hot passion but if you like your coaches and teammates, fuck those other guys.

How close was TB at the end of the regular season before they signed Brady?  I wasn't paying much attention to them and only remember crab legs being up and down at QB.  They did more in that offseason than just sign Brady so you'd have to look a little deeper for a team that is more than just a good QB away but maybe "one good offseason away" from SB contention.  I don't care enough to guess who that is but knowing how deep grudges run in AR makes me think he hasn't necessarily decided either way.

Davidson was selected in the fourth round of the 1961 NFL draft by the New York Giants, but was traded in training camp to the Green Bay Packers.

As a rookie, he played mostly special teams for the Packers in 1961, who beat the Giants 37–0 in the championship game, the first of five NFL titles for head coach Vince Lombardi. During training camp in 1962, Davidson was traded to the Washington Redskins for a fifth round draft choice.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. Great little feature on James Campen narrated by Rodgers.

Edit: didn't realize that was part 2/2. Here's part 1 and part 2.

Word has it that Rodgers and Woodley have called off the engagement for now. They are still on good terms, but they no longer plan to get married.

Many believed that Woodley was critical to 12's decision to force his way out of Green Bay. Maybe he'll reconsider that now...

Wow, that’s a shocker. I have often thought it was odd that we never heard anything about Woodley being in Green Bay or how she felt about Rodgers’ potential move to other nfl cities. I had actually thought she was probably trying to lobby Rodgers to find a bigger city and one closer to the west coast. Who knows?

I don’t rejoice in the termination of an engagement for anyone; though it can be the best thing in the big picture. But I can’t help but wonder if this isn’t going to make #12 more amenable to staying in GB.

I heard an interview with Andrew Brandt last week and he believes if the Packers and Rodgers win it all, it probably INCREASES the probability GB moves on from Rodgers via trade or he retires. He said while it won’t give LaFleur and Gute an unlimited pass, the reality is there will be a leeway given to the Front Office to not be pressured to win another SB “for years”.

He also said you don’t draft players in the 1st round for them to sit and sit. Taking Love means they are expecting him to play and play very soon. The days of QBs sitting for 2- 3 years aren’t the reality in todays NFL anymore.

I thought they were interesting comments considering Brandts knowledge base of the Packers and how front offices can work in the NFL

Exactly.  I would call the Rodgers/Love situation..."unique" among teams that draft a QB high.  If AR is your starter, you're damned right the draft pick is gonna sit however long he needs to.
