Diggy cuts and pastes the same thing every year after the draft. He has no interest in engaging anyone with actual facts. He just keeps sportin' the Bert Butt Hurt.
Pffft. ....he can't name 3 GM's worthy or even possible let alone 10.
Well, he can name them but he'll be woefully wrong & he knows it.
Cut / paste / rinse / repeat
Same as it ever was.
There really aren't that many GMs in the NFL period that have proven to truly be good GMs...in no particular order the most proven guys in the league right now are Billy B, TT, Ozzie, Colbert. There's a lot of GMs who haven't been with their teams as long but have had early success or seem promising like Schneider, Keim, Gettleman, Dorsey, Elway, McKenzie, Caldwell, etc. The puzzling ones are the good veteran GMs who are in bad funks right now like Jerry Reese and Mickey Loomis...they drafted poorly AND signed poorly in FAs, something neither GM seemed fond of doing during the recent hay days of their teams.
So right there is 11 GMs who are proven, have had success, or look like they will have future success. I can argue that maybe 1 has been consistently better at his job than TT.
MichiganPacker posted:If TT hadn't had the balls lap to draft Rodgers back when he had a Hall of Fame QB on the roster, we'd probably be doing things like packaging 6 premium picks to get a QB who went 14-23 as a starter (Goff) or 5 premium picks for a player who couldn't beat out another QB who was the starter for Waupaca High School before he went to North Dakota St. (Wentz). The most important thing a GM has to do is get a QB and he did that. No way Mike Sherman makes that Aaron Rodgers pick in 2005.
Please calm down Diggy. I fixed his mistake. MiPack, no more trolling, please.

It's a tough, tough job. Essentially, the league is designed to destroy the top teams every year. Free agency means the better players in the league cost more money in the long run, yet the salary cap means that if too many of those guys are on your team, you have to let some of them go.
Quite frankly, if you build a playoff team, that team is going to feature some good players. To boot, success means you are drafting at the bottom of each round every year.
Of course, none of that applies to the guy who catches QB's with his lap while sipping Bud Light on the rocks.
That joker, Archie, from Packer update used to go off on TT for lacking the foresight to draft Clay earlier in the draft when he was picking 9th. Love it!
And he gets to keep cashing the Rodgers check for life.
Kenny will be on the Jim Rome Show shortly.
How many years until Ted converts Clark to a linebacker?

Nice....Jungle Karma is always good.

Pfffft, everyone knows Jughead was the true football mind.

TT certainly has had some major misses in the first round and it's fair to criticize him for it, but aren't you ignoring (what I think are) recent successes of HHCD and the promising Randall? I'm still holding out some hope for Datone Jones in the elephant role.
Given TT's notable failures at drafting DL, I wonder what it is that has been the issue in drafting them - is it the requirements of Capers' scheme? is it a failure in scouting?
Think probability and sample size.
The most likely answer is it's just bad luck overall in the first round.
If Ted could live to be 100 the cream would rise to the top.
But in the real world...with only 12 years of doing this with Green Bay...the odds are good that any bad streak is just a bad streak...sometimes 5 tails come up in a row when you want heads.
Except for Hillary...she knows how to flip a coin.
Well...this is sort of like a hamburger and a hand job on Steak n BJ day.
But I'll trust Ted ...
Looks like Kenny played just a few snaps on Sunday. Did anyone notice? He was credited for an asst tackle. It may simply be a luxury for GB to slowly ease Clark into the rotation since Letroy Guion is off to a really good start (even going back to TC).
But I really thought he'd be getting a much bigger load out of need more then anything else since Pennell is suspended.
It's been one week. We have AP on Sunday. But minus Raji and Clark barely playing, it's pretty impressive the run D is looking good.
Likely easing him into playing time after tweaking his back in camp. Guion was impressive Sunday. Guion and Daniels must have been completely spent give their snap counts in that heat.
From Rob Demovsky.
Thanks for finding this. Snap count for both is pretty reasonable. Good job of managing snaps for the big bodies up front.
And the offense
The run D on early downs allowed them to play some NASCAR on Sunday with Perry, Jones, Peppers, and Matthews. That seemed to help the DL rotation.
40 degree difference should help a lot on Sunday. Heard on the field temps we're around 110 in Floriduh. Very good job that these big guys all hung in there.
It was good seeing Christian Ringo get in on the action with a TFL. He looks like a Mike Daniels clone and definitely has that quick twitch. I'd love to see him become another short, ultra-aggressive interior pass rusher like Daniels.
Martinez might turn out to be one of those middle linebackers I've been hearing about
Watched the replay of the game yesterday and was stunned to see what Martinez did for his first NFL game AND wearing the helmet. He's gonna be a good one if he keeps growing into his role.
Kids been good. Hopefully he statrts making some impact plays as he gets more comfortable.

He'd probably already be in the running for DROY if it weren't for The Wizard.
On the other hand, it shows again how Janis makes everyone on the team better.
Another guy with number 50 making the calls on defense.

Gosh.
It felt a little hotter.
Mrs. Blair Kiel looked at the guys in helmets and pads and fainted in sympathy.
Kenny Clark continued his breakthrough Sunday against the Rams. Over his last 12 games dating back to December, the #Packers' 23-year-old defensive tackle now has 55 tackles, 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

All sorts of justified criticism of TT's drafting but he hit it out of the park with Kenny Clark.
Love Kenny Clark. Not only is he good, he keeps getting better.
Seems like a good guy too.
Thought they would miss Wilkerson more but so far so good.
Pretty elite company..

Definitely not a staaaaaaaacked list.
KC is a man among men.
Pretty sure he's also the youngest on that list.
easily my favorite Packer the last two seasons.
and I love saying Kennnnyy! when he makes a play while thoughts of South Park dance in my head.
a SP ripoff tshirt should be made: Oh my God! Kenny killed him!!!!
How is half of that list not from Minnesota? #SoConfused
Shelby Harris has been a great find for the Broncos....has really come into his own and become a nice performer for a 7th round pick. Watched him play in high school.
Broncos building that D back up.
Hey now.....
Talking pawsitive about a TT draft selection is not allowed on X4!
