A post on another thread said something like "he's no earl campbell or christian okoye, but..."

I don't think anybody is saying he is.  It seems most talk about him around here and from national press is pretty consistent in what he is and what he isn't.  He's a big bruising back with quick feet and great vision/patience but lacks homerun burst or speed.  1265 is clearly satisfied with him.

Ditto on the quick feet. As I remember them Earl Campbell and Okoye were road-graders basically plowing through anything and everything. Lacy takes his time picking the lane, then goes. At times it looks like he's bottled up, but then makes a quick shift and bolts ahead for more yards.

I like this idea. Better than the 7 OL alignment from SNF.

Exactly!  We all know Big Ern puts Eddie on his back and carries him into the endzone.  I'm so tired of hearing about these other imposters like Lang, Sitton, Barclay and Borat.  Heresy!

Here comes Alex Van Pelt to tell us about pulling guards.

I was pretty stoked about Lacy the night it happened.  I was at a work happy hour and friend that went to Alabama just says "Nice draft pick".  I'm thinking they went with Lacy in the first which i wasn't 100% sold on so could not believe they got him at the end of the second, after trading back.

Seemed to like draft scouts over analyzed Lacy and that's what caused him to drop.  Glad he did though and glad TT took advantage.

As much as Aaron deserved it, I felt Lacy should have been a serious contender for MVP last season. He has turned this offense into a two-headed snake. He needs some rings to show for it.

EDIT: Just saw that Lacy actually was worse at rushing last season than he was in his rookie year.

Eddie is just sick and strong. That highlight reel is full of him making something out of little, especially the short screen pass against the Eagles that he takes into the end zone.

Hope TT resigns him to a new deal after this season if he continues in the same way. He's Packer People.

My boss, who is not a football fan, was hanging out at a Milwaukee club a couple of weeks ago with this really cool guy. Turns out it was Eddie Lacy. He was really impressed to learn that this humble, low key guy was a pro athlete.
