We've already got that guy. But I take your point.

If he can get down field and block like Cobb and especially Jordy Nelson in this frame…he'll be worth the pick

Well I have read that Montgomery is a hell of a blocker.

I am critical of this pick but now that he's a Packer, I will be rooting hard for him.  He has the size, strength and speed that could make him a hell of a WR, the type that we don't really have on this team right now.  He can return punts and kicks, is a great blocker, and has the attitude that you wish every player had.

He really kind of sucks.  Other than having Rodgers fall in dat lap.  One guy bought him a whole ton of praise he never deserved.  Shoulda lost his job years ago.

Like after the 2010 season. That would have been awesome.

I have it on good authority that special teams and WR ability are secondary for Montgomery.

He's our guy to crack back on Suh's ACL. He won't see a WR coming.

We must pay our bills, and that's one receipt that will be paid.

Just kiddin...I'm not that way...unless I'm drinkin.

This draft seems to be all about special teams.

You could argue that this was a needs pick versus bpa.

Montgomery might be a niche player, but it's a hell of a niche to fill.

I disagree about the ST costing this team a SB trip.

The end of that game did not hang on any one of the 3 groups of this team. it was a collective meltdown.

If you've got an hour to spare....good video. Even used words that TT would love in that this guy is "a football player". He's got big hands and they conclude that his drops have more to do with concentration rather than bad hands. Having Kevin Hogan as his QB did him no favors as well.....yikes that guy is bad. FLashes good route running potential, just needs more development there. They also said they have him as the best YAC receiver in the draft

Looks like a perfect kind of weapon to add to this offense and should be a dynamic returner at the very least

I think play calling cost this team a trip to the SB but feel free to pick your scapegoat.

When they sit down to fix problems from last year I think there's a lot more that can be done about their annual post-season 3rd and long 3 man rush than a fumbled onside kick...or maybe talking about ways to hold a lead other than perfectly executed 3 and outs.

But the good news is the NFL is constantly talking of ways to expand the return game, so KR/PR promises to be a more and more valuable position every year.

Marshall traded to the NY Jest.  So just a bit of a need there. Thanks for living under a rock while that happened.  When  Montgomery has a career like Hester get back to me, until then you got ZIP and this is a highly dubious pick especially with the rule change that took KO returns almost out of the game.  Of course maybe GB does need help on KOs.....

Buffone brought warmth and merriment to the eclectic Packer fanbase after a Bears trouncing.

You just make me want to empty out my fancy pocketbook to the Boys and Girls Club.

That is how I deal with socks, wear 'em one day, out they go.  Yeah, we're living big!

And, you know what the best part of it is?

The Packers roster is so good, he could be a disaster, and they'll be just fine, and, if so it won't impact the Packers in the least while they are curbstomping the Bears again next year.

Aside from returning kicks, he has the build and backfield experience to be a #3 RB, he can be a gunner on coverage units, and he can play WR in a pinch.

That's pretty good overall value at the end of the 3rd round in a weak draft.
