This entire thread is an indictment of MM.
Reading page 2 of this thread.....Good LORD!
I can't believe we had to wait 3.5 years to get rid of Dom.
MM should be hung upside down from his balls for not Getting this fixed sooner
Not enough suffering. 48 hours locked in a room with Jaymo & Sarge should do it.

I do, just not the defense he wants to run. But I do believe there have been enough good players on the defensive side of the ball. Stubborn and trust, it's a recurring theme.
And this is my biggest thing. It's the inflexibility. It's taking half a season to realize a player doesn't fit. It's slow, sluggish reactions. You have mediocre players then get your wizard cap out and scheme up a FEASIBLE defensive plan with the talent you have. Square peg, round hole syndrome.
Norv Capers in a nut shell... "inflexible".
Flexibility? Didn't a respected DC recently use that word to describe Pettine?
I think pretty much MM was done unless he terminated Dom.
....and this is why MM only got a 1 year extension.
Don't worry MM....Aaron Rodgers will save you.
I agree Boris. I also think Hundleys crappy performance certainly made the powers that be reassess what MM brings to the table as well.
I'm not so sure MM can count on Rodgers to save his bacon at this point. I think MM is going have to do much better across the board this season before he can feel " safe"

I think he already did. Apparently Rodgers likes MM system but I would put dollars to donuts it's also the reason Philbin is back. I'm not a huge Philbin fan but if he can help salvage the o-line along with opening up the throttle on the offense, great.
I'm also wondering if we'll get more bull**** "balanced offense" comments and then hand the ball off 10 times a game. I personally don't care as long as they put up points.
Honestly, at this point I don't know if MM is anything more than a glorified OC.
So they now have the triad of power in the front office, and have a triad of power with 3 head coaches.
Campen does not need help. Philbin will help with the run/pass balance though in game planning. IIRC, that was his forte last time in GB.
Also, Philbin and Pettine both will work fom the sideline. That should help significantly with communication.

Yup, close enough to kick ass when needed.
I don't understand this obsession with the coordinators being on the sideline.
The way this defense has played I think an gameday, on the sideline, in-your-face coordinator (who by all accounts his players admire and respect) is EXACTLY what is needed. No more of this ivory tower bull****.
I guess I don't mind coordinators being in the booth because it's easier for them to see the entire field. They can better see tendencies, formations, etc. Everyone says on the sideline it can be difficult to see what's happening, especially on the other side of the field. But, if you are up in a booth, you do need an exceptional communicator there and on the sideline to relay calls, etc. That was not Dom's strength.
I don't care as long as there are results on the field.
The coordinators should probably stay home and watch on TV. Seems to work for a lot of people on the internet.

What you are describing IMHO is what the defensive quality control coach should do. Get the DC on the sideline where he can teach and kick ass if needed. Let the quality control guy see the screw ups from above and relay that to the DC.
