It's entertaining knowing Rodgers is gauging every football move the Jets make going forward like an Elf on a Shelf that's in the facility 365. It's doubly entertaining they have no clue the scrutiny they're under right now. There are buckets of water going in the basement. Before he answered his first question he clocked Woody on not following the script at the presser. I'm sure he also has an opinion on the first pick tonight. I'd bet knowing what we know that he found it 'interesting'.

If this goes bad I'm going to enjoy every moment after he clears that 65% snap threshold. Just today Boomer was walking back the hyperbole on the renegotiation. Until today Rodgers new deal was going to surprise everyone and make Jets fans giddy! It was a "team-friendly salary, something like $30M a year" and "Brady like" in how much less he was going to take to give the team the ability to surround him with talent in pursuit of a championship.

Thought it interesting that today something shifted and Boomer was using terms closer to salary cap friendly and  describing a contract that allows the Jets flexibility. They're slowly realizing 8 has them by the short hairs and that guaranteed $100 million is about when and not how much. Jets can split it up however they like but I think he's getting all of it.

Hats off to Rodgers for chucking the ball around in the yard today for show. The media lapped it up. He's letting out slack with off season involvement until he sets the hook and gets his name on that new contract . Track close how he acts before the deal is done and after.

Rodgers has the Jet front office manifesting multiple years and imagining what it's going to be like when they win a trophy. He worked the Packers last offseason with promises and he's doing the same to the Jets right now. Woody has stars in his eyes and is letting Rodgers take him for a walk.  I think Rodgers has no clue if he wants to play next year, but he's willing to say anything to keep his options open for as long as possible . If other people want to try to convince him he'll entertain the thought and cash their check while he contemplates it.

If the Jets win it all (they won't) the trade becomes a Win-Win for both franchises.

I think the Stafford trade is a prime example of this.  LA got their SB and now Detroit is reaping the rewards of the deal through the Rams failures through draft capitol they got from them.

It's the long running debate, do you take the championship one year vs multiple years of being in the conversation or even being irrelevant? I take the trophy. But that's just me. They can never take that trophy away.

The Jets are taking some national heat for not drafting offensive help for Rodgers. 😂

I was watching NFL Network last night and Bucky Brooks gave the Packers shit when they didn't get their new QB1 offensive help. I don't recall him having a similar response to the Jets pick.

Maybe next offseason, he'll tell the Jets he needs to tuck his head between his legs, jump up and disappear for a month.  Mmmm, Ghee.

Greg Jennings is singing the same tune. Of course a few of us were also harmonizing with him.

Mike Clemens reported that Van Ness was working out and added 50 lbs in offseason. He was at facility in Thousand Oaks,CA and both Kenny Clark and Aaron Rodgers were there too. This was back in Jan-Feb, was AR “90% retired” at that point? Hmmm

He gained 50 lbs when he went to Iowa?

Added 50lbs?  So he's about...320 now?  Somebody check the math!

Oops. I reviewed Clemens' report, he said Van Ness gained 50 lbs at Iowa (over 3 seasons)  and was working out with NFL players this offseason.

So maybe K Clark was a scout for Packers on this pick...

McGinn is right about the playoff letdowns, odd especially after he was so money the year he won the Super Bowl. Yeah, I know the defenses were occasionally suspect, but as was pointed out about the Niner playoff loss, the D that day MOSTLY responded.

MLF should've fired that Special Teams Incompetent. I feel good about the guy we have now.

McGinn can pound sand. When he says that Rodgers is the most calculating person he has ever met then praises Favre as just wonderful, he is being just another disingenuous AR hater and belongs next to Hub Arkush as grumpy old men with an axe to grind. SAying there are historically 20-25 QB as good or better than AR is just stupidely false.

Laughable that McGinn says AR didn't throw interceptions because he was so concerned about his passer rating .... how about him knowing the analytics that prove turnover differential is the single biggest factor in winning / losing any single game?

Bob McGinn’s opinion on Aaron Rodgers(from the 26:30 mark). WOW!!!

He certainly didn't hold anything back but what he said was true. QBs got creamed in the 60s. In the 70s is when some things changed because Jack Lambert made his comment about putting skirts on the QBs. But most of the real changes came more recently because the NFL didn't want their most marketable players not being seen on TV. That could hurt that TV contract. Getting sued over concussions is a more recent reason for changes. Ray Nitschke's best plays were in the hole going helmet to helmet.

There are plenty of people that would agree with McGinn on Rodgers being a stat guy. Rodgers was crazy accurate from about 2009-15 but after that he was more ordinary. Many people gave him a pass because of his reputation. For example, every miscommunication was the receivers fault. Every pass that a receiver got his hands on but didn't catch was called a drop. I don't think McGinn is a hater, I just think that's how he sees it. There's no denying what happened in the playoffs the last few times the Packers got knocked out.

Well, unlike you he has actually met Rodgers.

I was done with him after the offense scored 10 points in the playoffs vs the Niners.

Score some points oh great one

May I suggest when he didn’t attempt to score against the Bucs at home, when behind.  He may not have made it, and if he did it would not have guaranteed a win but it had a better chance than the poor pass he threw.

If that didn’t raise eyebrows the SF 10 point game had to be the dagger IMO.

When the opponents special teams scores as many TDs as your offense you know it's time for a change.
