But they're not calling him and are not viable options because of the systems they run. I'm sick of Favre getting killed here. The guy got pushed out by TT. He wants to play still so who cares? Why does it kill everyone so much? If MJ could play for the Wizards, and Gretzky could play for the Kings, Rangers, etc. Who cares if Favre still wants to suit up on Sundays?
I personally love the guy and would like to watch him play forever!

And here I thought it was called retirement.

Nobody gives a crap if he wants to play again. His motivations for playing is what makes him a scrote.

Take it up with NAMBLA.

I really have no problem with this post except for this little gem.....

Utter nonsense....either this or the episode of SportsCenter I watched edited out the part of TOG's retirement announcement where TT had a gun to TOG's head.

Want to add those last couple of words of the sentence? Really. Typical approach to defending your douchebag hero.

You are welcome to love him unconditionally just like others are welcome to loathe his recent actions.

If he wants to play football, he should, for this is likely the very last chance he has in this lifetime.
pbid, if this were just about him getting on the field and playing because he loves the game, I say god bless him.

But it's not. And dare I remind you that Favre retired of his own free will. He held all the cards at that time, but decided to cash in all his chips.

Indeed.

Although I wonder if the 2009 motivation is any different than the '08 motivation

You "personally love the guy"? Do you even know him? And if you don't, and you're over 13 years of age, you do need to take Henry's advice and go see those people.

Do you love him if you are a "ball washer?" Or is that just lust?
My sources hint that TOG is smarter than we all take him for. He is in fact a step or two ahead of that numbskull Thompson. All is falling right into place according to his master plan of revenge. After failing to maneuver himself into a position of direct opposition as the QB of the Vikes last year, Favre took what he could get with the Jets. It kept him in shape, and allowed him to prove that he still has the goods. Here's the evil genius part. Knowing that a successful season would keep him locked up in NY, TOG led the Jets to the brink of the playoffs before intentionally tanking it, faking injuries, fatigue and old age along the way. These actions would assure his unconditional release. And with that, an unfettered, straightline path to Minnesota where he can now fully unleash his wrath against ROTTT. (Insert maniacal movie laugh here)

My sources are 99.99999999% accurate

With some training clients, there's little differentiation between these jobs.

This particular diva is most likely more than a handful to work with.
If Minny signs him, that would arguably make him the best QB on their roster and hence a starting NFL quarterback. If any team is willing to pay him to play, then he has every right to.

Nothing will diminish his legacy in Green Bay. Rice is still remembered as a 49er after playing for multiple teams. And Reggie White will never be remembered as a Panther.

If anyone needs to be annoyed or pissed off about "FavreWatch", then go ahead and bitch about the media instead.
Have you read anywhere, where anybody is stating that Favre doesn't have a "right" to play football? Just curious, site me a quote or a source, where somebody is tyring to deny Favre his "right" to play football. OH, and btw, the Commissioner of the NFL is constantly stating that nobody has a "right" to play in the NFL, it's an honor and a priveledge. I assume this applies to your hero as well.

As far as Jerry Rice or Reggie White go, neither of these guys trashed their team after they left, neither of them pulled all the "should I play or shouldn't I, for years, neither of them tried to play GM, demanding to pick the head coach and the team's players, and as far as I know, neither of them tried to help an opposing team of their old team, with information on how to beat their old team.

And if you don't think Favre's "legacy" in Green Bay would be trashed by his suiting up for the Vikings, you're more naive than your posting would indicate.

Did Rice act like a little whiny girl for several years with his "do you love me enough for me to return" schtick? Did Rice retire, unretire, retire, and unretire in the span of 4 months? Did Rice publicly fawn to play for the biggest rival of the 49ers and admit to coming back just to stick it to them?

Did Reggie White badmouth the Packers for 4 months? Send out his mommy on to talk radio to rip on the GM? Send out his brother to rip on the organization? Go on a hack's TV show to rip on the current coach, GM, and players?

Yup, Rice/White/Favre are all exactly alike in the ways they left their teams!

And even though Favre has crapped all over the organization I root for, and badmouthed our GM, our coach, and our QB, all the while while publicly telling us he wants to play for our arch rival just to stick it to the Packers and the fans that kissed his arse for 16 years, you're right, I'm sure nothing will destroy his legacy, well, at least with people like you that don't realize that the Green Bay Packers existed before your hero.

Can't wait to get your purple and yellow #4 jersey can you?
Report: Favre to meet with Childress

By Greg A. Bedard of the Journal Sentinel

May. 5, 2009 4:36 p.m.

Green Bay - Retired quarterback Brett Favre and Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress will meet later this week to discuss Favre's possible return to the game with the Minnesota Vikings, according to an ESPN report.

The meeting will happen at a "undisclosed" location. Werder said the information came from "a source with direct knowledge of discussions between the two parties."

Both Favre and agent Bus Cook have said Favre is retired and will remain that way. On Monday, Favre was asked via text message whether he was going to play again by ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer. Favre replied: "NO."

The report also says Favre has not been working out and did not have surgery on his torn biceps tendon. "Favre may believe the injury can heal on its own as did a similar problem with his left shoulder while he played in Green Bay," the report said.

I'm sure they're meating just to trade BBQ rib recipes. And like CaPackFan95 said, he told Dilfer "No". Roll Eyes

Great post, but you left off the cherry on top: those fans that kissed his ass were the same ones paying his salary. Each ticket sold, each sports hat, each television commercial: a percentage of all of that went into Favre's paycheck. Good old country boy!

OH oh... this could be a deal breaker "The team would expect him to participate fully in offseason minicamps and training camps"

This would be his escape from full participation clause - don't overwork me before the season so my bicep can heal

Favre has not been working out and declined to have surgery to repair the torn biceps tendon that plagued him the final month of last season.
"Favre may believe the injury can heal on its own as did a similar problem with his left shoulder while he played in Green Bay. A source close to Favre told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that how the injury heals will play a role in the quarterback's decision."

Just like when Favre called Millen and the entire Lions coaching staff the week before playing the Packers, they were just talking about hunting!

Good thing ol' Mort kept that protective rain gear. He's surely already turned on the lights and the satellite connection inside Favre's ass for another summer of advocating for his boy. Christ. The Dog Patch Crew strikes again.
Well, it's Groundhog Day... again... and that must mean we're up here at a Mississippi farm waiting for the flip-flop from the world's most-famous gun-slinging attention whore, Brett Favre, who's just about to tell us how much more of him playing like a kid we can expect.

Mark Schlereth made some interesting comments about Favre on NFL Live. Basically every "expert" who has given their $.02 states Favre would be a big upgrade in Minnesota and make them SB contenders- for like the 10th year in a row. Schlereth stated he would say NO to Favre. The reason being why is he coming back? To play football or stick it to GB/TT? And for some reason, few "experts" want to ask that question? At least at this early juncture.

Even if Favre plays well in 2 games a year versus GB, how much effort goes into the other 14 games? The guy is obviously obsessed with GB. Is there a letdown against other opponents? How long before we hear yet again "it looks like he's not having fun anymore"? BTW, I love the comments about Favre not having to play in cold weather very often in this new scenerio. Although he played better in domes as of late, his career record inside is still lousy.
