I want to hold judgment until all of this is confirmed (so far we only have rumors and reports from unnamed sources), but it would be really sad if true.

WTF Brett. You might hate TT, but to kick all of the Packers’ fans in the nuts just because this pathetic vendetta is sad and unfair. So much for the careless warrior you were supposed to be.

He already has.

Why is Favre the only one that can't realize this?
All personal BS aside, I still question whether or not Favre is in the physical shape to play an entire season at a high level.

Last season he completely wore out in the final half dozen games or so, and clearly he hurt them more than helped him down the stretch.

I don't think he's THAT good anymore that a team can be willing to throw away that many games "just because"

The problem is that Minnesota will end up drinking the TOG kool aid just like the fans and this will probably end up coming back to bite them in the proverbial ***

To me honest, I am just glad it's somebody else's problem. Let him return and make a fool of himself and wreck his legacy with the Packers. At least we now know the type of person he is.
I really do hope he signs with Minnesoda. Can you imagine CKA legacy when he is the coach who benched TOG and ended the starting streak because of poor play? Or would he just let the Yikes keep losing? Nothing would be more fitting.

I think that's why a lot of fans are anywhere from not caring if he signs with Minny to full out hoping he does sign with them.

Mick....yeah I saw the Mooch thing on NFLN last night too. Eisen asked him if Packer fans would be pissed or if his legacy would be tainted in Wisconsin or something like that if TOG signed with MInny. Mooch said something along the lines of "A few of them would be upset, but TOG is revered there."
Talk about not having a clue. Hell there's a a "few" in this thread alone.

Mooch is so far out of the loop it isn't even funny. There is no excuse Brett can give to "his" fans of Wisconsin that would make them understand this decision, none.

And he will get boooed heartily in Lambeau when he does.

I think if MN struggles, even CKA will get the boot. So, in essence, Childress butt is on the line.
One more thing, it just shows you that "meeting" with TT and McCarthy last year was a joke. All Brett did was probably whine about how they treated them, how he would "do this" to them if they let him go, and how he would prove them wrong. I betting nowhere he said "anything" about the TEAM>

This is pathetic, Brett.
Well Brett is back in the saddle again. Segment after segment on EPSN is about him from Mike and Mike , Sports Center and 1st and ten has a 15 minute debate going on right now.Whether he plays or not he is back in the limelight for a moment in time.
Part of this stirs me to new levels of apathy. I mean really, it just has absolutely no impact whatsoever on the Packers or me at this point.

It is what it is...and we as fans had what we had with him, most of it good, some of it bad.

If Brett is pissed and has a chip on his shoulder, then that's what he has. Hardly distinguishes him from most folks at one time or another. If he wants to play, then play. If he wants to grind an axe, then grind an axe.

Whatever...all I know is that I'm jacked to start seeing the last few draft classes start to make it all come together for the Pack.

And yet, the media will throw the Favre saga in our faces another whole year, lest we actually try to focus on football.

In New York, it might as well have been another planet.

True, but I don't even listen to it. I'll read an article here and there but then immediately afterwards I'm thinking about something more important, like what I'm going to make for dinner. The subject has a short shelf-life...unfortunately not for sports reporters.
If Favre wants to play.... let him play. I cannot figure out why all of you posting continue to whine about this. I have not completely agreed to how Favre handled the situations over the last few years nor have I agreed to how Thompson/McCarthy have handled it as well, but if your "betrayed" get over it.
If Favre decides to play with Minny...cool...his choice not yours, not GB's. Does not affect you unless he beats GB or moves Minny to division title.

Since you have all banished him into exile, why do you continue to care what happens or what he says, does or decides....is there concern on your part? You post as if you hate him, but you continue to post.

I am a 35 year loyal Packer fan and will continue to be. I am also a Favre fan and am appreciative of what he had done in GB. I admit that I am not a Thompson fan but I do not get to choose the GM for GB... I do not post and whine about him continuously.

I rarely post because there is no need to, most topices are well discussed and enjoyable, positive or negative. I used to love to read the post at this site, but as of the last two years the regulars have become immature and so critical that it sometimes is hard to read.

Not me. If he played for the Vikings I would treat him just like any other Vikings player. I would boo LOUDLY.
Favre has put himself in the spotlight again. It's called opinion. People are free to say whatever they want about him. Yeah, some of us are just as persistant about giving our opinion as Favre is about not retiring and seeking a way to "stick it" to the Packers. As long as Favre continues to put himself out there, he's fair game. So what? This is a forum about BF. What do you expect people to talk about here, the weather?

He did not work out in 2008 like he did in 2007. Part of the kool-aide will be if he comes in early and participates in OTA and TC like he did with GB in 2007. Then Favre and the Vikes will believe he can have another year like 2007.

That article pretty much nailed it. Best part:

I can see it coming: Favre Fatigue replaces Swine Flu as next pandemic scare. And there are no known vaccines, short of dropping ESPN from your cable package.
The Lord is getting hammered here also...

The loving media wants to say that Favre plays for the love of the game and that’s why he can’t just walk away. I say that Brett Favre is the most selfish player in the NFL and that he is a diva who can’t get over his own ego, that’s why he can’t walk away. He has nothing left in the tank. Go away Brett

It's because he has retired not once, not twice, but THREE freaking times (maybe even 4). If he had just shut his trap and not pouted after the Packers failed to sign Moss for him none of this crap would have even happened. He's brought all this upon himself.

I guess we can't be too surprised, it's been 8 years since he first started to show what a selfish prick he was with the whole take a dive thing for Strahan. That was the first major warning sign of what a d-bag he is.
That's what I can't figure out. TxPack comes on here whining about it but what would he say about Terrell Owens? I don't think it's a race thing, I think it's due to the fact that Favre hid it well enough over the years. Only when TT actually said no to him, starting with the poop canning of Sherman, that he completely exposed himself.

Yet, now that he is unmasked you still have this completely irrational defense of this turd.
Mort. In a way I hate myself for listening to this podcast, but damn... ol' Mort has not only turned on the satellite and the power, but he's already mowed the lawn and forwarded his mail to Favre's ass cavity for another summer of flat-out lying for his boy.

http://sports.espn.go.com/stat...t=podcast&id=4144195

One of the fascinating things to watch during the Great Monkey Poop Fight of '08 was how these 'journalists' completely exposed themselves as frauds, with Mort at the top of the list.
Yeah, I actually had respect for Mort until last year. This latest thing trying to explain Dilfer's text is just nauseating. I think he would defend TOG's right to murder TT at the 50 yard line. What a tool.

Note to all those Vikings fans who are champing at the bit to run out and plunk down $80 for a purple and yellow Favre jersey: At least talk it over first with your cousin Vinny, the Jets fan in New Jersey. He's using his No. 4 to mop up oil stains on the garage floor these days, and saving up for that No. 6 Mark Sanchez beauty.

The only guy I can remember whose reporting stood up to the test of time and facts was Glazer's. It seems that during this latest go-round, even long-time scrotum scrubber Peter King has subtly washed his hands of all of this. Good move.

H5. I am not sure what post you are reading.
What I can understand is why posters on X4 give a free ride to Rodgers. Rodgers could not pull out a 4th quarter victory last year, but the posters on X4 four gave him a pass with the excuses of poor defensive play, injuries to the team and Rodgers himself. Farve had these issues for mostly his 16 years and rarely received the pass that Rodgers has gotten.

Farve played well in 07 and in 08 until he was injured, now he is no longer a viable QB according to X4 posters and is set up for failure. Does this mean that Rodgers is not a viable QB?

Though I enjoy the X4 post, I've learned the double standard that exist in this forum. I hope Rodgers turns out to be a quarter of what Favre was in GB, but I do not think he will be...time will tell.
If Favre decides to play for Minny and has a good year..what will the excuses and slander be then.

Actually quite a few posters have said "let him play." Many posters seem to be imploring him to sign with Minny. Maybe you should work on your comprehension skills a bit.

Favre brought the disdain he receives on himself. He should have shut his piehole, and thought it over for a bit before he retired. He screwed that part up at which point he should not have tried to force TT's hand. TT made the move that he thought was best for the Packers. On what points do you disagree on how TT/MM handled the situation?
