But that's a good thing. It will be so much more fun to watch the new Packer D knock the snot out of an old, fat, slow, prima donna than it will be to watch them try and catch Tarvaris Jackson. Jackson can't throw worth a damn, but he's quick as hell and hard to get a good clean shot at.

Old man Favre = Sitting Duck

And if they don't? What if he lights up the Packer defense? What level of hate will you achieve then?

This has always been my fear about this whole thing. Do we really want to find out if he has enough left to maybe beat the Pack, or win the division or worst of all, lead the Vikes to the Bowl? Do we really want to take that chance?

I guess as of today we won't have to worry about that but as much fun and fascinating as it would be to have the drama of playing him in purple, the thought of him leading the queens to the bowl is very scary...at least to me and as a guy who lives in enemy territory.
You seem to have a lot of fear/anxiety lately. Relax.

I disagree. The fans up here are aching for a QB with some pedigree. Since Daunte went down they have gone through Brad Johnson (too old), TJack (too young and maybe never will be), Gus (too old, only a backup) and now Sage (maybe) who is an unknown. Cutler will have a long leash with the fans up here and I suspect he won't need it because he is damn good and they have a great running game and a good defense. Coaching aside, if the Queens get him, the talent is there for...gulp...Super Bowl...
Nice work putting that together so quickly. Now excuse me, I need to do my daily yoga to hopefully quiet the fears inside that number four will not be John David Booty this year for the purple. Wish me luck! I want to have a good weekend.

The Packers have lost games to some pretty crappy 2nd string QBs. They lost one to the Vikings last year. If they were to lose a head to head game with a Favre-led Viking team, so what? Who's to say that T-Jack wouldn't have done the same? Or even John David Booty?

As for the Vikes getting that elusive SB win, besides their impressive organizational pedigree of choking, I think Favre has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he cannot get it done 3 straight times in the playoffs anymore. The pant soiling he did in OT in the NFC Championship game removed any reasonable doubt in that regard, IMO. The chances of those two epic chokers canceling each other out to put braids on a Lombardi are on par with the chances of a meteor crashing on your head, IMO. Yeah, it can happen. But it probably won't.

All the more interesting, dont' you think? But why is it you're so worried about all this "love" and "hate"?

I would think that for Packer fans, a game in which the team could really stick it to a guy who has been mouthing off for over a year now about how he'd like to stick it to them, would make for much more fun than playing Tarvaris Jackson. Don't you think?

Or are you one of those who will sit in front of your tv and weep?
With all the angst, venom, hang-wringing, bile spewing, hating, name-calling to and about Favre that has been going on since last summer, now all of a sudden a couple of posters who have stated "be careful what you wish for" as far as what Favre would bring to reigning NFC North Champions and main division rival now all of sudden are trembling with fear and have anxiety issues. If I need counseling for my anxiety than there are several who need help with their anger management.

I wouldn't worry for one reason - COACHING. There have always been teams with great talent and couldn't win to save their lives. There have been times I felt that the Lions had that problem down thru the years. The Redskins with Jurgenson & Huff did not do anything until Lombardi showed up. Then they had their first winning season in something like 40 years. So I wouldn't worry. The Vikings are limited by the guy who doesn't do anything on the field.

Well, hell, didn't you just write this a few minutes ago?

"This has always been my fear about this whole thing."
A little tidbit from yesterday's anti-climax has been overlooked. After turning the gig down, TOG said he would make an official statement at a later time to explain why. The milk is dripping out of the media attention tit, and he's going to get every last drop.

Why couldn't he have just said "no thanks Brad, I'm done, good luck"... this is as pathetic as fellow media whore Chris Carter's press conference to announce that he wasn't retiring (anyone remember that?)

FWIW, Clayton also came out with a quote I believe from Cook- that said Favre "reserved the right to change his mind in the future". That's about all I need to hear from Camp Favre- this issue isn't done.

Favre to Vikings: It's not over
By Greg A. Bedard of the Journal Sentinel

Green Bay - Now we know why no one was able to confirm the Yahoo! Sports report that Brett Favre told the Minnesota Vikings he was going to stay retired.

Or why neither the Vikings nor Favre was saying anything about the matter.

It might not be over.

ESPN is reporting that Favre has sent his shoulder x-rays to the Vikings for them to look at it. If there is no major damage, the union may proceed.

As always, stay tuned.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course it's not over.

YES! He is going to the Vikings. I love it!
From the full ESPN article.

quote:

Bus Cook, Favre's agent, told ESPN's Rachel Nichols on Friday that he did not know of any X-rays being sent to Minnesota.

So, there you have it. Favre didn't send any x-rays to the vikes.

yoga class cancelled...
Whenever I think I'm fed up with this, and sick of hearing about the attention whore and he stupid agent, I often hope that it just ends and wonder if it can get any worse.

Then, I think about the fact that Rachel Nichols has been holed up for the better part of a month in Hattiesburg, MS, and I am comforted that at a minimum, I have not had to plunge to those depths.
The story that just won't die, no one in sports history has manipulated the media to achieve their agenda like Brett Favre. At this point it is just comical.

Five years from now we'll probably still be having threads like this.
Let me prophecize a bit. Viking doctors will view the X-rays and conclude that there is minor damage. But it should heal just fine given another 6-8 weeks of rest. Doesn't really matter to me. MN has no idea what they are getting themselves into. He's become an octopus. Togtopussy

Isn't it? My favorite part is Baghdad Bus saying he knows nothing of the XRays.

He could have at least hid the Fed Ex receipt to Mankato that was sticking out of his pocket

He's fat. In that Jets uni, with the white pants, whenever he bent over center, they could have shown home movies on that backside of his.

Even more reason that I hope those idots sign him

There is nothing good that can come out of this whole mess. If they think they are getting an elite QB, LMAO.

Only the Vikings.................

Take a break- or have a drink

Or as I say in the household, take it down a notch
