Gasp

Gov. Tim Pawlenty says putting the former Green Bay Packer in purple would be fun for fans. He says it would be “a wonderful little salt to rub in the eyes of some of our Green Bay Packer friends.”

Pawlenty laid out the scene: “Can you imagine Brett Favre going into Lambeau Field in Viking purple and maybe even wearing No. 4? There would be audible gasps.”

Tim sounds a little frustrated and spurned... what is it with Minnesota folk?

Like if he were to be picked as a VP candidate for any Party in the future would he rub it in listening for that audible gasp from all the Palin fans?

Go ahead Tim, make my day...

There are some that call me..... Tim?

When I said the Packers would not have won the Super Bowl without FAvre I meant that they would have never gotten there to play it without him. Could they have won if Burnell started that game. Maybe. Who knows? Brunell had good talent in Jacksonville for a few years with much better skill people than Favre had over the years and he never won anything. He was no Favre.....

Favre rebuffs Vikings, will stay retired

By Rick Schwartz

The Minnesota Vikings will not sign free-agent quarterback Brett Favre(notes), a source close to the team told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday.

The source said Favre told Vikings coach Brad Childress that he wanted to remain retired in a phone call that took place sometime in the last day. Favre is expected to publicly explain his decision soon.
Man if this really the case, how hilarious. How many hours were spent talking about this on talk radio? How many ESPN segments were done about this? Look at how long this thread has gotten?

However, I guess if we've learned anything the past couple of days it's that Favre had nothing to do with winning the Super Bowl. That was something I wasn't aware of.

See, this is what makes discussion difficult here sometimes.

true that. If we've learned anything, there is no limit to the subterfuge surrounding Bus Cook and his clients.

Reading comprehension is a good skill to have.

I didn't say he had nothing to do with the Super Bowl win. I was addressing the notion that it was all Favre. As the record shows quite clearly, that wasn't the case.

You know what I've learned, that Henry is a wise wise man.

I'm with Blues on this one. OTA's, torn bicep that either needs more time to heal or surgery. Cook and Lord Favre don't let this sit out there and stew with
all this hype without there being something to it. Someone made the comment how we've seen this movie before....this is just another chapter. When it comes down to it, I'm guessin mid June now, Favre CANNOT leave anything in his tank-
it will eat him up. I may even double my bet with big brother- that's how much stock I put in Favre's word right now.
Besides, they keep talkin about how any team would need him in there for OTA's and camp- are they gonna say no in June/July when he calls them up? TOG knows he's got teams over a barrel, he can play these kind of head games for months and he knows it.
Think this story is dead?

riiiiight. Sure, he can say he's staying retired. Hell, it's only May.

We have all summer to be dragged into more bull-sh** of his. Not to mention the fall jock itch he will inevitibly get if a starting QB goes down and they want him for a playoff run.

It is WAAY too early for me to really think this crap is over and Favre has hung it up for good. Too much history tells me to think otherwise.
I would love to know how much of this story is fueled by the media milking him and how much really comes from Favre and the Vikings. Every report I’ve seen doesn’t name sources and is basically speculation.

Really, the hatred some around here feel towards Favre is amazing. And they are the ones telling that he needs to get over his fixation with TT.

Facts: Favre was a GREAT PLAYER for us and was a BIG part on the Packers success during his tenure. Yes, he threw too many INTs, but also gave us MANY great memories from his time as a player. The divorce last year was ugly, but since his time with the Jets I haven’t seen a single thing coming from him that warrants all this hate.

Watching Favre on NFLN vs Bears Oct 07 right now and he looks pretty sharp to me. Yes they lost that game but went 13-3 and were one play away from Super Bowl.
Am I saying Favre is that same player now? No. But he was relevant then.

That's exactly what it means.

He'll be in lavender as soon as he wants to be.

Well with her wearing purple she must be a Viking fan but I have a few questions
# 1 - Is she part of the love boat team ?
# 2 - Is she a coach kick ass concubine?
# 3 - Why wasnt she nominated for the Ms Times Four ?
# 4 - How much can she squat?
# 5 - How much distance on the long hurl ?
# 6 - Why the hell did that get posted? that is the stuff the gives reocurring nightmares

TOG spills the beans to Millen because he can't stand the fact that the Packers have moved on without him.

That was a very evenhanded article, wasn’t it? Roll Eyes

That story was just as overblown as the subject of this thread. Really, how much can be said on a 1/2 phone conversation while driving? And PFT initially reported Favre giving a "detailed presentation" of GB's playbook, which really can't be done over the phone.

What Favre did was dumb, but meaningless and didn’t warrant the tons of ink, bandwidth and hard drive space spent discussing it.
