Bus was on NFL Network just now and the reporter said he talked to Bus off camera as well and Bus assured him that if Favre came back with the Queens it would have no revenge factor involved at all. My Lord this guy is full of it!

Berrian already throwing current QBs on Queens under the bus, great leadership, excitement, blah blah blah.

So now it's not that he isn't coming back it's that he isn't coming back for revenge. Check.

Peterson yes......I wouldn't exactly add Berrian and a rookie WR to the mix of "strong" supporting cast.

Good pickup, I thought the same thing when I read that.
Hey maybe he wants to be reunited with Turd Ferg (is he still on the Vikings Roster if not kick ass will probably have to bring him back as part of the deal along with bringing Billy Schroeder out of retirement.Maybe Kick Ass can get Holmy to come and be Brett's personal coach in his personal lockerroom.

I don't want him to die. But knocked out for the season by a hard Packers'
hit/sack? I can wish for that. He's not a Packer anymore. Just another
hired mercenary.
Hell, I don't want to see him hurt. I want him to get pounded all game and see it through the brutal end.

I know the whole changeover to 3-4 may take time to perfect but I am WICKED EXCITED about the Packers defense.
This is really the ultimate irony considering that for years Vikings have ripped the guy nonstop for his antics, and now all of a sudden it's a Moss "Superbowl homeboy" moment.

From a pure chemistry and karma standpoint this is bad news for Minnesota, but I guess misery loves company. To that extent Duh-ren Sharpier is right- it's a perfect fit.

What a complete shame to piss away your legacy to the team and fans that defended you to the hilt and stuck with you through thick and thin- with the growing pains early in his career, to the addiction/marriage issues, to the ongoing retirement BS. Now this is how you want to repay the GBP franchise?

Good riddens

Fair to take shots at that TX guy but own up to your own. If you didn't hate Sapp for that hit on Clifton, Randle for his ashholery or whoever that kid was on the Vikes that was talking **** but never backed it up you're just as embarrasing a Packer fan as that guy. Here's a clue: You didn't have much of anyone to hate because the Packers were more than likely dusting them before they had a chance. Sorry teams don't dominate in the NFL for 16 years straight. It was so hard living through 16 years with only 15 years having the Packer's either in the playoffs or having a chance the last week of the season. Oh the black days that we suffered through. Spoiled, every one of you.

You guys slurp each other off better than anyone ever slurped Favre. What's the need to feel so hurt by a guy wanting to play football when the guy who took over is more than capable? Sour bithces the lot of you. The irony in the posts on this thread calling out a whiner of a football player is priceless. They lambast Favre for wanting revenge and project abject failure onto him at the same time. Some people seemingly can't help themselves from endlessly wallowing in the negative of his career instead of looking back on the good and looking forward to the promise of the Packer's future. You pat yourselves on the back but how you express your thoughts on Favre shows how much in common you have with him.

I have been searching for a way to express my dissapointment and couldn't put into words any better! Bottom line is you have a lot of desperate people here. A quaterback who can't quit, a coach who can't draft or coach and a team who can operate without players who once played for the Green Bay Packers. What a mix, this will bwe an interesting off season and season. That is if Favre signs with ths Queens.
I keep trying this, maybe it will eventually stick. He RETIRED! He was not forced out, banned from practice or anything like that. TT did not sign Moss, the next day he 'retired'. Then a few weeks later he unretired, GB welcomed him back. Then he said naw forget it and retired again. Then they drafted 2 QBs and had a guy sitting there who they thought was really good.

What were they supposed to do at that point? Bring him back and then go through the whole thing again this year? Then they offered him a chance to compete for the job. He didn't want to do that, due to ego, his stoolies and that damned streak. Knowing full well McCarthy was probably tired of the dog and pony show with Favre and if he sucked in pre-season or regular season he may risk ending that damned streak that clearly is the most precious thing to him.

It's to the point where he's going to keep doing this until he's injured to the point where he can no longer play.

You completely missed the point here!! I have been a Green Bay Packer fan since 1971 and seen some of the darkest Packer days. This is a guy as fans we went to battle with every week. It's not that we are not looking to the future with hope but we cannot believe this guy is going to or even thinking of suiting up with the enemy.

So we should be sending Favre letters of congratulations on another year in the league after he signs with the Vikings?
I was as big a Favre fan as anyone, and I think back on his career as a Packer fondly. I also recognize him for what he has become, or maybe always was. A bitter prima-dona.
As pointed out before....Favre brought out the disdain on himself. With the exception of a few posters Favre was an extremely popular player on this site.....until he started acting like a little girl last year. If you don't recall that then then too fukking bad. Had the man NOT retired last year, then I would still be cheering for him up until the time he did. I had no problem with him wanting to play football then or now. I do have a problem with him thinking he's the center of the universe.

Dumbest post in this entire thread, and that's a mouthful. Moronic from start to finish. The number of basic facts you continue to blatantly ignore is astounding, even though at this point it really shouldn't be.
Good point Boris. I can be as vindictive and evil as it comes. Guess that's why I feel like this place is home Smiler . I just wish people would own up to it instead of pretending they're holier than the guy in some way.

Cally: Favre is who is he is and he's been that way forever. I think many people are upset with how they blindly defended the guy for 16 years then opened up to his true colors and all of a sudden feel wronged. If you never bought that he was as All American as apple pie in the first place you could care less how he embarrasses his word at the end of his career. All of a sudden he's a phony but how long ago was that interview where he said he gave up drinking and he was drunk off his butt at the time. He's always been two faced but he took the field for the Packers on many a day when he could have easily said screw it and I'll always respect him for that even if it was only for fear of losing his job. Starting at QB for the GB Packers has never meant as much to anyone as it has to Favre and he proved it for every single start over 16 years.

Welcome and.....

Thank you Mr. Kiel, I usually just read the comments on TimesFour but I to am sick of this Favre drama but need a way to vent my frustration with this guy.
If Favre signs with the Vikings the following things need to happen.

arod should put a bid in on FAvres Steakhouse and the city should force Favre to sell it. 10 cents on the dollar should be the opening offer. With the economy the way it is and Brett just pissing away his legacy in GB, there is no need to have the restaurant in GB with his name on it. Then have the town change the name of the Road from Brett Favre Pass to Traitor Trail or Back-Stabbing Boulevard. Then to finish off the list, give either Brohm or Flynn the No 4 and tell them it is their number as long as they want it. Murphy should come out with a State of the TEam message that Favre will never be welcomed back in Green Bay as he has eaten of the forbidden fruit called the Vikings.
The bottom line is that the SOLE reason he wants to come back is not for the love of the game, to make one more run at a title, but to piss on the franchise that made him who he is and the fans who put $150M in his pocket - after he walked away from them - twice. He has a right to do that - we have a right to disown his ass if this is seriously the tact he wants to take. If he just wanted to play and was actually forced out of GB, I can't imagine anyone who could reasonably have a problem with that. It's spite, it's petty and it's ridiculous.

You know I am trying hard to understand your position here but can't. Yea Favre is who he is but every week we cheered or died with him and maybe we thought it would be forever and that being a Green Bay Packer meant as much to him as it does to us as Packer FANS. So what if we looked past his faults we do it everyday with family and friends.

Moronic is saying he's ever been mad at the fans. Show one quote over 16 years where he's ever complained about the fans treatment. Brett Favre made himself with his play and the fans looked past his crappy character because of it. You think he owes you his career from start to finish because the Packers let him be the starting QB for 16 years. Is it all about Packer's management or is it about the fans? You come off like the typical guy who thinks the players personally owe you something for following the team. Get over yourself.
FAvre does not owe me anything. And I surely don't owe him anything either after cheering for him for 16 yrs. I gave him the benefit of the doubt last year and cheered his success and hoped he did well. But if he signs with Minny, he will be remembered as a 40 yr old spoiled brat who only played with the hated Vikings to stick it to my favorite team. I hope the same fans that cheered him will boo him the day he walks into Lambeau field and starts for the Vikings.
No less than the Governor of Minnesota, Tim the Tool Pawlenty, has weighed in on the possibility of Favre as a Queen:

Tim Pawlenty said putting the former Green Bay Packer in purple would be . . . "a wonderful little salt to rub in the eyes of some of our Green Bay Packer friends."

Pawlenty laid out the scene: "Can you imagine Brett Favre going into Lambeau Field in Viking purple and maybe even wearing No. 4? There would be audible gasps. There would be 60,000 audible gasps as he came out of the tunnel."

Nice. Stay classy Tim. Roll Eyes
