And apparently you can't have it without sens - which really doesn't make sence - but it does if they pay you cents to do it.
I'm sliding into the category of who cares at this point. He's not good enough anymore to scare anyone, and if he wants to trash his Packer legacy, that's his choice and so be it. It's almost like ignore him, and maybe he'll go away.
I am beginning to wonder if TOG is really serious about this whole Viking thing or if he is just trying to make one last ditch effort to worry, confuse and conflict the Packers.

We get contradictory information sometimes daily and/or weekly. Perhaps it is all smokescreen on his part to get one last dig into TT and make the Packer fans squirm and turn more bitterness towards him.

So, TOG throws out a few comeback bones here and there and he lets the media hounds run with it. Then he sits back guages the climate and laughs about it all.

At least I hope so. Cuz if TOG were to sign with the Vikes, I for one would dread seeing the day he is inducted into the Packer HOF.

If the Packers thought there was enough left in Favre's tank to the point they would be worried, confused, or conflicted about him playing for someone else, he'd still be playing for the Packers.

Not me. It's his life. If he still wants to play, by all means he should play.

He'll always be a Packer. He was great while he was here. Great.

If his motivation is to "stick it" to TT and the Packers, I think he's going to find that is the wrong way to go about it.
Agree with all of the above except the "he'll always be a Packer".

He'll go into the Packer and Pro Football HOF's (and he should), he'll have his number retired, but if/when he signs with Minnesota he (to me) would forfeit the quoted designation.

He can do whatever he pleases, but he can't have it both ways.

I've uttered that statement a dozen times in conversations with non-Packer fans who inquire about my feelings on the matter. It fits.

I agree with this point. I even think that, if he plays for the Vikings with the motivation of "sticking it to the Packers", he doesn't deserve to be honored by them and have his number retired.

He will receive many honors from the NFL after all.

But this thread proves we are not dead to him. 31 pages of life.
Disagree.

He earned it on the field (being honored and having his number retired).

Nothing in the last two years are going to change what he accomplished.

To hold back from honoring him at all for those accomplishments simply because of what's transpired (largely) off the field isn't appropriate (and I believe would be viewed as vindictive and petty which is exactly what Favre is being criticized for).

It's why I don't think they should give #4 to the punter.

There's no need for any of that.

Honor the player, form whatever opinion you choose to of the man, but the team absolutely should not seek to "punish" him in any way other than sacking him eight times and picking him off seven if he decides wearing purple is more important than what his return in that color would mean to Packer fans.

The Packer administration should take no action at all.

Stay on the high road.

I think that grilling corn on the cob without the husk is the best way to activate the sugars. Boiling it to death is so 1960's and soaking it and grilling in the husk is not worth the time. Just drop it on the grill naked and stay on top of it so as not to burn it. rotate for 8-10 minutes and I think you'll agree its the best you ever had. I cut it off the cob so I dont have to floss for 10 minutes afterwords and a little salt and pepper and you're in heaven.

I was not attempting to say, TOG does not belong in the Packers HOF, I would just dread that day because there seems to be so much animosity from him towards the Packers and the Packers fans, that it makes me wonder just how proud/sincere he was to have a played such a huge role in Packers history that he now is willing to tarnish that legacy largely due to his own spite and revenge.

If it was over money, I would understand better. But TOG does not need anymore money. About getting another SB ring? Perhaps. But his physical status and performance are significantly in doubt. However, many indicators point to selfish revenge on the Packers by playing for the Vikes and for this, I dread that day...if it ever comes.

Thanks.

He also had more than a few cocktails with the guy who stepped in for your guy when he had to leave the first AFL-NFL Championship game early due to injury.

A #5 throwback jersey is still my game day attire of choice once the weather starts getting cooler.

I gotta disagree. Soaking it in the husk doesn't add too much time if you plan ahead. It's not like you have sit there and stare at it while it soaks. Soaking for two beers is good enough, but I do it for three for good measure. I agree with the rest of your treatment after cooking.
Aw heck naw the MICROWAVE is by far the best way too cook corn on the cob.

Now I believe this yes/no/maybe deal is tog's way of helping improve the economy by selling lots more news papers. He is also single handedly performing CPR to that dying industry. sarcasm
You choose to post but twenty-five times in nine years, and advocating the microwaving of corn on the cob instead of grilling it is what inspired you to do so?

I completely disagree, but that's great.

The man loves his corn on the cob. Gotta respect that!

I'm pretty close to that point. That's hard to believe.

When did the enthusiastic kid running around the field of Super Bowl XXXI become such a self-absorbed prima donna?

This is a question I've been pondering. My best guess on a theory is that he always was a self-absorbed prima donna and the general public was just shielded from that by a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) an unwillingness to piece together the clues. I can recall reading people saying TOG was not the guy the public thinks he is many years ago. Personally, I believe it is more likely that they were always right and the passage of time has opened more people's mind to that possibility, instead of time bringing the facts to their side.

Chewey, who knows TOG very well, has said something along the lines of "It's all about Brett, make no mistake about that". This was a few years back, before this flap started.
