Zimmer: "This is a bad defense. The worst one I've ever had."

I am hoping the defensive players, on the vikings, are saying these are the worst coaches we have ever seen!

In  the article Florio compares  the Immaculate Reception to the Minneapolis Miracle in how they were alike.  But they were different in that the Steelers kept their QB (Bradshaw), while the Vikings sent their 13-3 QB packing.  Sometimes a QB is good because of how they think rather than their physical traits.  But GMs fall in love with the physical stuff.  I might have said that the fall of the Minnesota Vikings will be compared to the fall of the Roman Empire - but the Vikings haven't risen yet.

Cousins hasn't been bad. His QB rating over 3 seasons as a Viking is 103.0. In 3 seasons, he's averaged about 4000 yards, 30 TDs, and 10 Ints. a season and completed 69% of his passes. He's been more than good enough to win with. Cook is great, Jefferson and Thielen are a top 10 tandem in the league.

It's obviously the defense. You should fire Zimmer as he's the defensive guy.

Couple of things: Cousins hasn't been bad, except for one thing: All those stats have been built on the puny stuff. If you watch a game, everything is underneath. Throwing down the field more than 15 yards is an adventure and if caught, mostly due to guys wide open or his WRs making great plays. He cannot make great throws down the field and refuses to throw into tight windows. Thielen and Jefferson are a great tandem who are being wasted with Cousins, as is Smith, the TE. When Jefferson screamed, "F*ck Kirk, throw the ball!" it was because it was a tight throw; Cousins wouldn't put the ball anywhere near Jefferson because he doubted himself. He's just not a big-time, balls-out QB; he's a safe, game manager, back-up QB who will win you a game or two when your starter is out.

As to Florio's comment: what a joke. I hate that name. The "Minneapolis Miracle" is more like the "New Orleans Oopsie." Rookie goes for bomb hit and totally misses tackle, and defensive coach not doubling opponent's best WR on last play of game does not a miracle make.

Yep, the NO defender decided to get cute with Diggs, who burned him, for the game winner. These went on sale, at 50% off, shortly after the trouncing Phillie gave the vikings in the NFCCG, ending Minnesota's season and continuing their streak of suck. BTW, who really listens to Florio, anyway?27173994_10155064180426536_9190872559459618339_o

As I reflect upon the close of 2020 and the instability and uncertainty that this year has brought, it is reassuring to know that the Vikings are guaranteed to have a losing season.  They truly have been a light in the storm.

Speaking of the Vikings Suck:

I'm quoting this just because: Because I tried posting this earlier and for some reason my puter wouldn't allow it. Because I hate the Vikings more than the Bares. Because Pedmo is the biggest douchbag on the planet. And Because The Vikings suck.

The photo, in this article, showing a lone fan in the stands, could have been taken from any vikings home game, in the 1990's, when Pillsbury, 3M or General Mills had to buy up the empty seats, in order for the game to be aired, on TV. There is so much wrong with the vikings, I'm wondering if this article will become a series of articles. Blaming the lack of fans, for an at home loss to the Packers, due to Covid protocols, was lame, as all teams played their home games in near empty stadia.

I looked up Philbin to see if he was available. I overlooked the obvious answer.

Joseph Anthony Philbin is an American football coach who currently serves as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League.

Yeah, but when was the last time we played Seattle at home?

Never get's old! Love the guy about 5 rows up signaling good then puts his hands on his head! Or the other guy heading for the exit before the ball lands.

apparently the Vikings fans on Reddit are convinced they are going to win it all next year.....

Do they understand that prior performance usually is predictive of future outcomes?
