So daddy Mond had to go and buy those 24 jerseys - mostly for family and friends.  It says nothing about any other jerseys or San Antonio stores can't keep them in stock or anything like that.  About .0016% of the San Antonio population now have Viking jerseys - that we know of.  Real hot?  Not.

Never mind that there is this little thing of making the team.  If he doesn't make it maybe they will burn the 24 jerseys.  But it is the Viking Way of creating the illusion of significance - and in the process winning the off season super bowl.

red zone collection?  I doubt Kark has any of that!!

We should all go & buy a bunch of them and send them to Cousins with a note that says, ".... here is some help so you won't sweat so much in the red zone this year".

In unrelated news, Old Spice becomes the best selling and #1 rated deodorant in the US and is picked as this year's Super Bowl deodorant of choice.

(later in the season) The Vikings just missed the playoffs - again - after Cousins threw three interceptions to ensure their opponent won.  Their star QB after the game said "I no longer sweat the details".

I’m sure his family is proud of him for taking a stand.  The guy has a cushy gig and he’s walking away because he’s refusing a vaccine?  That’s some next level bullshit.

The good news for him is I’m sure there are dozens of others willing and able to replace him.  Just like these other guys (Beasley) that want to prove a point. Then prove it.  Walk away.  Someone else will take your place in 10 minutes.

I didn’t agree with everything Colin Kaepernick was saying and doing but at least he was promoting a legitimate cause (social justice).

"Linebacker Anthony Barr has said the team has accepted each other’s decision regarding vaccination."

“I think we’re all very respectful of one another’s decisions. There’s never been any kind of division or conflicts,” Barr said. “It’s your choice to make and you live with the results.”

Late Hit Barr taking things lightly during a pandemic. Morons. It's hardly a personal choice when hospitals are filling up, again, and this variant is going after the unvaccinated, with a vengeance, this time around.

I'm a scientist. My initial inclination is to say that all the people who are going to die from this that refused to be vaccinated deserve what they get. However, when heavy smokers get lung cancer or when people who don't exercise or maintain terrible diets for years die too young, we don't refuse to try to help them.

The maddening thing about the anti-vax movement is that people that have no problem doing completely unnatural and unnecessary things to their body for other things are some of the leading anti-vaxxers.

Football players who often have multiple surgeries that put titanium in their body, get multiple concussions, take enough painkillers to numb a horse, or probably take PEDs are concerned about the long-term effects of vaccines?

A lot of people that smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day are worried about vaccines?

Jenny McCarthy, one of the leading anti-vaxxers, got where she is as an actress by getting large breast implants yet she's worried about putting other things in her body?

The difference between all these other personal choices (implants, cigarettes, etc) is that making stupid choices doesn't harm anyone else, although you could argue that the health care system costs go up for everyone for every extra smoker there is out there. Immune-compromised people are going to die because people have been misinformed.

It goes well beyond that MP2.

If things don’t improve we are on the same trajectory as last summer when cases started to rise and they spiked around Thanksgiving.

Businesses will be impacted and the economy will take another giant shit because 50% of the population is either too stubborn or too ignorant to make sensible choices.

My personal belief is yes it’s your choice if you don’t want to get vaccinated but guess what?  You get the C19 and you are 100% responsible for all of your medical costs.  That would change behaviors.

I don’t normally align with the NFL on many of their practices but how they are dealing with this (to vax or not) is spot on.  Sure, you are free to make your own choices.  But if you get sick and impact others then you are going to incur a huge economic penalty.

the biggest hypocrisy for the football players is supplements. They all take supplements - and untold numbers have gotten suspended, lost millions in pay and put their health at risk with nary a concern for long term consequences.

Supplements are not regulated, contain any number of nasty impurities, have led to kidney and liver failure and hundreds of thousands of deaths over the years.

Every time one of these guys gets popped: " it must have been contaminated"

Supplements aren't  rigorously tested like a vaccine or an actual medicine and there's little to stop any schmoe from brewing up a batch in the basement and selling it on the market. That's why every ad for supplements has tiny, barely legible fine print "they are not intended to treat, cure, diagnose any medical issue and none of the breathless statements about their awesomeness has been reviewed by the FDA. "

You will also note that the supplement companies can't make any medical claims, because they have zero evidence to back it up. So you'll see phrasing like:
" it may improve your immune system" " it may help reduce cholesterol, it may help improve memory"

...Sure - and I may one day become president of the USA ( fuck you Pakrz  )

All of this is because Orrin- the douchebag-  Hatch rammed through legislation to protect the supplement mfgs in Utah. Its modern day snake oil

Its incredibly stoooopid on every level - yet these same mensas don't ever question Dr Hu Flung Poo's protein powder laced with dogshit and steroids.

Fuck them all

The greatest hypocrisy isn't from consuming over-the-counter "supplements." That shit (SARMS) is largely unregulated and for the gym bros and body builders.

The stuff that really has potential for long-term damage to the athlete's body is normally only by script, testosterone for muscle growth and HGH (human growth hormone) for recovery.

You take testosterone long enough, your body stops producing it, so you end up needing HRT (hormone replacement therapy) for life.

Normal range for an adult male between 18-40 is between 400-800..for T...most athletes are near or just over 800. You get some NFL guys, and bodybuilders and they are north of 1000.

That shit ain't healthy. Also, you start taking testosterone, anger becomes an issue (which is probably beneficial on the field), and also wanting to fuck anything with a hole. To tamp that down urge, you gotta start using estrogen cream to take the edge off. So now you are playing mix and match with hormones "that occur in nature" so it can't be bad right?

There have not been a lot of studies on this stuff, and where it puts you 20-30 years after you stop playing. And most of these guys start taking it in college, if not before.

I promise you, every current player outside of maybe kicker and some QB, are taking testosterone and HGH on the regular.

Another hypocrisy...you can shoot that shit all day long, but the NFL will suspend your ass for smoking a blunt.

I don’t doubt that most of them are taking T and/or HGH, but just like weed, they’ll get suspended if the NFL finds out.
