So it’s definitely Sam Darnold for a while
@RapSheet: #Vikings QB JJ McCarthy missed practice with knee soreness and tests revealed a meniscus issue that he’ll undergo surgery for, per me and @TomPelissero.
The purple death dome claims another victim
This might be better for McCarthy in the long run. A meniscus tear should be an easy fix relative to other types of knee injuries and now he can sit and watch for at least half a season without pressure to get out there right away.
And when Darnold plays like he has in the past, McCarthy can come in under a context where there might be nowhere to go but up.
From what I read if they just trim the meniscus the recovery time is fairly short. But, if they repair it that is several months of recovery.
That shit turf in the greenhouse claims another victim. Over/under on the number of games before it gets Jones?
First guy I thought of. What's the odds of him playing 17 games? I'd put it at like +2000.
Vikings rookie QB J.J. McCarthy’s season is over. He underwent surgery on his meniscus this morning. The procedure revealed a repair was necessary. What an absolute bummer.

Ouch
I'll never cheer on injuries, sucks for the kid. His development will be sorely behind going into 2025. Coming out of college, his knock was he didn't have to do much as a QB at Michigan and wasn't put enough into game situations where his skills were needed.
Now a full season where he won't play at all certainly magnifies that.
Making it official
@vikings: Head Coach Kevin O’Connell announces that J.J. McCarthy underwent successful surgery this morning that required a full repair and he will miss the entire 2024 season.
Justin Jefferson has to be super stoked about his new deal...
Aaron Jones has to be super stoked about his new deal...
Because that's pretty much all they have to look forward to in 2024.
vikings suck
But with Jones seemingly getting injured quite easily they may not have him to look forward to him for long.
So you got a shiny new QB that relies heavily on his mobility. And this happens. I think the Vikings got snookered.
I think they got snookered more when they signed Sam Darnold.
Watch the vikings snap up any GBP QB that hits the PS. BTW, I'm sticking to my prediction that our 7th Round pick, Michael Pratt, has a better NFL career than JJ McCarthy.

Snap prediction - Jones starts all 17 games for the Vikings.
Vikes are having a rough few weeks.
Starting WR Jordan Addison, was just carted off after landing awkwardly during a joint practice in Cleveland with the Browns.
Rookie CB Khyree Jackson was tragically killed in a car crash on July 6:
2nd year CB Mekhi Blackmon tore his ACL on July 25 (first TC session); and
QB JJ McCarthy tore his Meniscus on August 10 (first pre-season game).
Yikes.
J.J. flashed a little. Too bad for the kid.
rough 1/2 hour
Some Viking Yahoo who runs a pod cast has been ripping the Lions and saying how they were all lucky last year with limited injuries. Now this Bozo has Karma hit him upside the head with all the stuff going on in Vikings world. Also, he has not seen enough of Jordan Love to determine if he is any good. It is going to take a lot more than six games to prove to him Jordan Love is any good. I assume he will finally give Jordan Love his due in about 15 years when JL is at the end of his tenure with the Packers and the Vikings bend the knee and kiss the GB ring again. Vikings, Lions, and Bears fans are so damn scared JL is going to be great. Being a Packers fan is great!!!!
They just canceled deer hunting season in Minnesota now

I feel bad for the individuals. For the Vikings though - too f'ing bad.
Vegas bettors took note of the JJ McCarthy injury:
vikes were 80-1 before he got hurt
vikes are 80-1 after he got hurt

For their fans, too extra fucking bad.
With the Vikings finding themselves in need of a QB, they should reach out to Atlanta. Michael Penix Jr. has looked great, making their aging QB, Kirk Cousins, redundant.

Cousins could fit well in the Vikings system. I’ve photoshopped how he would look on the team. pic.twitter.com/kzj2BEMvpO

For years now, I have been wanting the Packers to get revenge, on the vikings, for Anthony Barr's late hit on Aaron Rodgers. It would seem my wanting revenge has materialized, in that the vikings are dropping like flies in an insecticide commercial or maybe better, dropping like birds crashing into US Bank Stadium.

Cousins will want more money.
^^where on the innerwebs did you find a picture of my wife???
She looks a little rusty and pitted. Are you sure you want to take credit for her? What happens when any of those links break? Will she be able to hold it together? It looks like there are some heavy issues anyway.
PackLandVA must have a very comfortable couch.
If she reads this he better have a very comfortable dog house. Or maybe a very good lawyer.

You have an imaginary wife?
The advantage of an imaginary wife is you can forget what she looked like. So you may not know if you had one - right?
