Considering the issue between Rodgers and the Packers, it's a shared fault that I'd tip it more toward Rodgers than the Packers.

I'm sure there is some fault on both sides but I would lean much more heavily that this is about the ineptness of the FO and not Rodgers. Murphy keeps showing everyone what a fucking moron he is.

You're right, sounds like a simple misunderstanding.

I'm guessing you're missing the overall dripping sarcasm if not flat out taunting in my post.

He didn’t say that.

Also said that Murphy wants to believe the Packers last two seasons of success have solely been because of the guy who was the coordinator of the 27th ranked offense the year before he got AR....

Murphy certainly has had his PR troubles, but what he's been saying in public has no bearing on the issue between the 2 sides.

This is about the current contract. Rodgers wants more, the Packers want to stand pat.

Unless someone in the FO says something extremely inappropriate about Rodgers, he has no reason to be pissed about these public comments. Look no further than his "I'm offended" t-shirt. Who do you think that was meant for? His boss(es) or the media twits who have had this wrong since the beginning?

I was going to respond but then I realized it's like trying to correct plot holes in a Hallmark Channel movie.

Bert jerked the Packers around with endless retirement bullshit.  Rodgers wants to be in Green Bay to win a Super Bowl.

Not sure why that's so difficult to grasp.

I'm not sure how it's so difficult to grasp that the net effect of both situations is turmoil and uncertainty as the organization is held captive by the flexing of an ego. We can cast one bad guy vs one good guy all day long, and at the end we're still in the same place. We also might chalk that up to the simple fact that Rodgers clearly has better PR savvy than Kiln, MS.

If this is Rodgers' way of telling the world how badly he wants to win a SB, he either gets mad style points or he's truly one sadistic MF, depending on whose knob one needs to polish.

Favre is looked at by many Packer fans these days with at best lukewarm sentiment. The good majority of this board holds him in some level of disdain not because he retired 18 times and wanted to come back, but because of the way he went about it. That includes "I have nothing against Aaron, this isn't about him." Now it's Aaron echoing his love for Love, how it's not about Love, but my ego just won't let me treat the kid like i should've been treated. Wtf does Rodgers care about the additional bs scrutiny of a kid following a legend in Titletown? He will be long gone. But it's about "the PEOPLE."

It's only about winning a SB, but you're letting your little fan feels pov get in the way? If only it were that simple.

Scenarios nearly identical.

GB was not looking to draft a QB when they picked Rodgers (Brandt is on record saying that), and they likely were not thinking QB when a guy they really liked was available for little cost - and that they had info on that at least one other team was considering.

They really didn’t mean to make Rodgers cry.

I think there are some fans who are a little too casual about "trading Rodgers".
I wonder how many of them lived through The Gory Years. 20+ years of failure; be it trades, drafts, or development. We would get a tease every once in a while, thinking we finally have a real QB at last, only to have those hopes dashed on the rocks after a year or two.

That's not to say to keep ARod at all costs, but it is to say think long and hard about what one may wish for. Remember the clown show at QB the last couple of times ARod missed time for injury.

Simple Fandame...You bring him in when he is 35 or 36 and say...Aaron, we want you here for as long as possible, you are getting older and have been dinged a few times.  When you were out the stiffs MM said we going to be OK stunk.  So considering your age and your health we will begin the process of evaluating QBs in the draft.  If we see one we like we are going for him.  Maybe not this year or next but we have to look to the future...every family, every company and every team does.  Depending on how things fall we will include you in the loop as we are now.

Play ball

Sorry, but if there's any NFL player -- heck, if there's any pro athlete -- out there who doesn't think the coaches and FO are looking for their replacement at the age of 35-36, they are living in fantasy land. Even Brady has had to fend off speculation about when he was going to hang them up. And to say "we're going to keep you in the loop" is where we are now: a QB who wants the say in who stays and who goes.

I don't doubt Rodgers wants more say in who stays and goes, but the NFL is not an emotional, feel-good business. Players are assets and when you see a declining asset or a chance to improve the quality of an asset, you take it. Except for a couple of exceptions (Hyde, notably), GB has done well in getting rid of declining assets before they become a liability. (Bulaga, HHCD, Gerg, Nelson, Sitton, Lang, and yes even Whitewater Jesus)

What?  That's just crazy!  I mean Jordan Love is just waiting to roll out into the auto QB offense.  Instant success

What could possibly make sense about good personal management of some "diva" just because he's a HOFer MVP who is the primary reason the Packers have constantly competed for a Super Bowl after winning one in 2011?

Do you think you can just go to any old store and buy a phone?!

Let's be real here.  If you aren't constantly building for the future to never win a Super Bowl instead of trying to win another Super Bowl with your current HOF MVP QB you aren't a successful organization.

All 785702347580895260 of them.

And every last one of them was at the Ice Bowl, too.

It’s football. Life is too short to be supporting assholes. I’ll live with the 0-16 seasons.

Lets face it, it is easier to get a "hole in one" when the ball is white and the ground is white.
