MT just said "I almost always pick Green Bay at home but with the way the rug was pulled out from under this team with AR not playing, I could see the Steelers coming in and getting the win today".

That sounds like maybe some players have been complaining to MT.

This might have something to do with Domovsky's reportage about AR being worried and frustrated about his "toughness" being questioned.

I think that's nonsense.  They've all seen players rehab injuries not knowing whether or not they're playing on Sunday.  And they all know that the Doc makes the final call.

Rodgers will not play

Clay will not play

Bright side is Lacy said the ankle injury was just his sprained ankle "flaring up" again so hopefully he can go next week. Obviously will be at less than 100% but at least it sounds like he didn't do any more damage.

Lacy playing with Starks as a change of pace option gives them a chance since the Bears Run D is awful

May I ask how you know that he's not been scanned in several weeks, DocBenni? I'm not questioning the accuracy of your statement, just curious how you know that. Maybe there's an article you've read that I missed. And he wouldn't need an MRI, but a simple x-ray to see if there's been any new bone growth. I've never heard an x-ray referred to as a scan, so maybe you could clarify that statement.

IMHO, it's really not worth playing Aaron against the Bears, even if he's cleared medically. I just don't think we'd do anything in the playoffs even if we did win the division, and it's not worth risking further injury to Aaron. The offensive line is decimated right now, and it's the play of the line that got him injured in the first place. Who's to say he won't get killed back there again? We all know how crappy the playing surface is at Soldier Field in the winter, and all it would take is one sack and slamming him down on the cold, hard ground to hurt him again.

I know as a rule of thumb all of our guys should be playing if we can make the playoffs, but I think this is the exception to the rule. Lacy's hurting again. Clay Matthews is hurting again. Keep them out. Don't bring Randall Cobb back when he might not be 100%. Keep Aaron out. There are just too many guys that we need to get healthy for next year, and the longer we give them to heal, and get back into football shape, the better. A major setback for any of these guys could have a huge impact on our chances next year.

as painful as it has been the past two months, the fact they have a shot at the playoffs going into the last game is nothing short of a miracle. After this afternoons game I was half hoping that Chicago would win just to put me out my misery. But just as the Lions did all they could do to disqualify themselves from the playoffs, it looks as tho the Bears are also going to do their part and the Packers may win this thing just by showing up. I hope like heck Rodgers plays because even a rusty Rodgers is better than a dialed in Flynn. I sense they won't let him play but it would be justice for Rodgers to come back against the team that cheap shotted him.. Yea Shea Mccleland actually tried to drive him to China with all his weight. Hopefully he "accidently" blows out a knee.

You gotta play Rodgers if he's cleared.

I don't care about seeds…the NFC is tough as hell, but it's wide open. Seattle lost at home today to Arizona. The Packers have a ton of flaws, but with Rodgers and that rushing attack, I'd like their chances against anyone.

The Ravens last year, Giants multiple times, Cardinals, and even Green Bay in 2010 have taught us that you just need to enter the tourney to make some noise.

The difference between Flynn and Rodgers is immense. Flynn is trying his best, but he can't throw the ball down the field. It's so hard to watch. Even these quick throw sideline patterns require arm strength that Flynn just doesn't have.

Also, I think Rodgers has one INT return for TD in his career…these Packer back-ups may have three this year.

I sure hope Doc B. is right and he gets the green light this week.

Only losers and pussies play for next year. You play to win the game, win this year, not next year.

I don't get sitting players who are healthy and medically cleared to play.  Once in the playoffs, anything can happen.  Teams get hot, other teams go cold.  If Rodgers is cleared to play, play him.

And as I mentioned in a thread a week or so ago, I don't care if the Packers get destroyed in the first round of the playoffs.  I want them IN the playoffs!!!  Not just because I prefer they win.  But it also knocks the Bears OUT!

Brilliant logic. There is clearly a lot of concern about Aaron's health, but let's throw him out there, risking a career ending injury, on the one in a million chance this team with it's crappy defense could win the Super Bowl.
