Farmer gets to leave Cleveland AND I am sure has a nice settlement to do so. I am sure he is happy tonight.

Browns announce that both Farmer and HC Mike Pettine have been fired

So..they will be hiring their 10th Head Coach and 8th GM in the past 16 years. And the owner wonders why they can't build a winner. They are a machine at producing a less than mediocre product---a true "factory of sadness."

But the Browns owner is such an upstanding guy... http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_...lying-j-pay-92m-fine

They had two first round picks in three of the last four years---only one of those seven picks is starting, and three are not on the team anymore. You almost have to try to be as inept as they have been. If you add in Brady Quinn, that's three QBs in the first round in eight yeas.

No doubt aimed at Tomsula who backstabbed him but also York and genius Baalke too

I think we owe the 49ers some gratitude for bringing us the hilarity of Jim Tomsula, Head Coach. That was hilarious.

The fart in the press conference was priceless. I can only hope to see press conference 1/2 that funny in the future

What's worse? Lay a fart in a press conference or an egg in a game?

Does anybody want to interview Clements? (Yes, I know he's not available until after the Packers lose.)

I'd love to have Sean Payton in GB as our OC! That's a winning play call tandem!

Re: 2016 Black Monday - Firings
Adam Gase strikes me as one of those fine OCs but has no business being a HC. We'll see.

Re: 2016 Black Monday - Firings
If the Giants clean house, MacAdoo and Philbin would both be available. Not saying that's where GB should go, but interesting both those assistants would be options to come back.

Re: 2016 Black Monday - Firings
The only staff change I think we'll see from the current structure (with McCarthy continuing to call plays) is a WR coach. Not the WR/QB coach set up with AVP.

Re: 2016 Black Monday - Firings
I think they need a completely new approach both to offense and defense. Stick with the 3-4 since they have the personnel for it, but go with a different scheme. Offense, maybe go back to a true west coast offense scheme to take advantage of Olivia's strengths--he has a lot of similarities to Steve Young so use them. And stop running Lacy east-west.

Ben McAdoo as WR coach would be awesome! I thought he did a great job with TEs in GB. Although I find it odd that McCarthy has hoarded some coaches, but was willing to let McAdoo move on.

Payton would be great as the head man in Green Bay! though probably wont be available next week

I don't understand how the Giants can fire Coughlin. He's won 2 Super Bowls for gosh sakes.

Re: 2016 Black Monday - Firings
Coughlin finishes his Giants career with a 102-90 record. Remarkably, 10 of his 12 seasons ended without a playoff win and six of the last seven concluded without a trip to the playoffs. But when people look back on Coughlin’s time with the Giants, they’ll mostly remember 2007 and 2011, because both seasons ended with a Super Bowl title. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/...coach-192047854.html

It leads to the age-old question: Which would you rather have: playoffs every year and not make it to the big game or a decade of only winning the big game once or twice?

Re: 2016 Black Monday - Firings
I'd rather have a chance every year than "go all in" and suck for many years.

One could only imagine posts of some of our Timesfour particpants if they had been Giants fans, posting on a Giants fan board, during Coughlin's tenure.

McAdoo's contract was up. That's the only reason the warden let him free.

Re: 2016 Black Monday - Firings
Maybe they should try drafting an offensive line. Heck, their line/receivers were in far worse shape than Green Bay's.

Davante Adams may have been dumb in the Detroit game, but he's no Odell Beckham Jr.

Re: 2016 Black Monday - Firings
And every team in the league would still rather have Beckham than Adams.
