Bo was like nothing we may ever see again. Go back to his early years at Auburn and follow that to when he blew his hip out on a 40 yd run against a defeated Bengal team in the playoffs. His NFL career ended after he completely killed a team

Re: Report: Mort says Cedric Benson to the Packers
I actually think Benson still has some gas left in the tank. He ran pretty effectively last year, and at the very least he'll play with a chip on his shoulder against the Bears--he's been indignant ever since we had the gall to cut him after his third arrest. Still, it's suspect for a Super Bowl contending team with a tight locker room to bring in a guy whose rap-sheet is lengthy even by Bengal standards. B-N-D

Re: Report: Mort says Cedric Benson to the Packers
Good, net take on the whole matter: "The signing of Cedric Benson begs two questions. The first is why are the Packers interested in adding a 29-year-old running back? The second is why isn’t that 29-year-old running back named Ryan Grant. The answers to both questions are actually pretty easy. General manager Ted Thompson is adding a veteran running back because projected starter James Starks is having a disappointing summer. And he chose Benson over Grant because the former Bengal has been...

Re: Name the QB
Boris, That's why for me these are fun discussions. I admit to having a fondness for Jurgenson. As to Montana? Can't see him EVER throwing a 6 int playoff game as Favre did against the Rams. Can't see him throwing the int's Favre threw in two conference championships (Packers versus Giants and Vikings versus Saints). Just me, but I cannot place anyone Top 5 who made those kind of horrific mental decisions in huge moments - and I cannot see Montana coming close to that kind of...

Re: Monday Night Football
Take a stroll through a schedule some time and you'll see how many "good" games there are each week. And NBC, FOX, CBS all get to protect games each week, leaving precious few to choose from That's why an 18 game season is such a joke - we don't even need 16 bengal, cardinal, dolphin, seahawks, browns, jaguars, rams, broncos games as it is

Re: Last Day at Lambeau
About all I need to know about the film maker: Funny. I was a fervent fan before TOG got here. And I'm a fervent fan after he left. Little desire to see this other then I'm bored off my ass, flipping through the channels, there's nothing else on, and I'm out of liquor.

Re: Last Day at Lambeau
I don't know where you found that quote. But if this is about the Michael Neelson that made the film, he was 5 years old when he was there at the Cincinnati game. Pretty fair for a 5 year old to have his first Lambeau experience of any kind, shape his fandom....but especially one that ended in that fashion and began the career that Brett Favre had. Michael Neelson is 25 years old

Re: Leslie Frazier out as queens coach?/Non-Packer Coach Firings thread
Not the coaches fault that Dalton & the Bengal offense can't stop turning the ball over. That's the only way the Chargers beat them & that's exactly what they did

Re: Steelers Week..
Bengal punter has a fractured vertebrae in his neck and a fractured jaw. Douche move by the Steelers. Period. No need to **** a punter up like that when a simple block does the job. Just another case of some dumb**** trying to make a highlight reel.

Re: Rodgers realizes what lies ahead
I could be wrong, but I thought it was getting unlikely for Favre to NOT make a potential game-breaking mistake for three games in a row, thereby making a SB unattainable. Man, I'll still never forget the pass he threw in the 4th and 26 Eagles game. No way Starr EVER does that. Here's a small bit of tempering. Montana threw a pass right into a Bengal in the SB on the game-winning drive. Most likely, if the guy holds onto the ball, Montana did his share to LOSE the game. But, I think Favre...

Re: Rodgers realizes what lies ahead
Favre played on adrenaline. He could pull plays out of his rear end, like the one where he was stumbling and flips the ball underhanded to Donald Lee. Those made up (to whatever extent) for the hyperactive throws into triple coverage. I just don't think Rodgers is that type of QB. AND I think CONSISTENCY is the key to success.

nerdmann...Thank GOD you're on this board. I think you're one of the few along with phaedrus who actually gets this debate. None of us think Favre wasn't great early in his career. He was as good as I've seen for a few year stretch. Holmgren built this kid and he fell apart a little when he left. He redeemed himself with a great regular season last year. That game vs. NYG at NY was the best game I've seen him play. To be able to look at things and be objective even when you bleed for the...

Re: Are the Packers an underachieving big tease like The Chargers?
I still remember in the second SB against the Bengals, in the final drive, Montana threw a pass right in the hands of a Bengal. I thought Elway's numbers in some SB's were so-so, but to be fair, so much was on his shoulders.

Actually, that pass was long before that drive.

FYI, I've said this before.... I was ready to denounce my "fanship" to the Packers if Ron Wolf didn't turn things around. I'm willing to wager beers, many others were going to jump ship too. I had had quite enough of the "Bengal" way of doing things. Oh yeah, F-U Judge Parins. F - U!

Re: Why is the number 30 after 3 games....
My point about screen plays was specific to the Bengal game. Cincy was pretty much committed to man on man press coverage with a deep single safety. They didn't change much even after Finley went on the shelf. Given the Bengals speed at LB is in line with AJ Hawk it seemed reasonable to think a steady dose of screens while the DB's ran with 3 wide outs made sense. No idea if GB has only run 3 screens this year but I'm pretty sure the screen to Lacy in SF went for 33 yards. Just beat Detroit...

Re: F-in' with the Golden Goose...
If the NFL allows weaker teams a shot at the playoffs less teams would be willing to trade the present for the future like the Browns did recently. Oh wait, the Brownies were 0-2 with and 2-0 without. They even beat that playoff bound Bengal team......... One other concern. How would extra playoff teams and games affect gambling income?

Re: Vikings Suck
To be fair, we drafted AJ Hawk 5th. He's now a Bengal. We have only have one more Super Bowl than Minnesota during that time. Frankly, I'm embarrassed to be a Packers' fan. We only have 13 more Super Bowls than the Vikings. PATHETIC!

Hearing that 7 Packers are officially out today. Nelson and Bulaga sound like they are playing. So.... guessing the "out" list will be Daniels, Perry, Cobb, Bak, House, Ryan, and Brice.

If the list truly ends up being LT David Bakhtiari (hamstring), WR Randall Cobb (chest), DT Mike Daniels (hip), CB Davon House (quad), LBs Nick Perry (hand) and Jake Ryan (hamstring/concussion), and S Kentrell Brice Then that should mean plenty of K. King and J. Jones on the field. Personally I am excited to see them get some snaps!
