Hey DirecTV customers, Comcast Sucks too

Herschel ·
I signed on when they said they'd lock in my price for two years. Lo and behold my bill just went up $27 this month. The fine print is only your bundle price is locked in. "Taxes and fees" and "additional services and equipment" are not covered.

I've had DirecTV for 5 years and have no complaints. I used to have Comcast for TV and internet before dropping them entirely. I have oodles of complaints.

Sadly, this kind of loyalty doesn't mean squat in today's world. I'm going through the same thing with Spectrum (should be "Rectum"). Almost 30 years of cable service, probably another 15 years of internet, and neither of them justify their cost based on performance. And when I call to bitch about their shitty service, it's pretty much...

I have had directv for 25 of the past 27 years. I called last Friday and told them I woudl be leaving if they did not do something because they were not worth $340 a month without Sunday Ticket. They looked at my account and said that was it, nothing more they could do and I hung up. I called Verizon they don't serve my area, and I did not want Spectrum. I called dish and their montly bill was $170 less that Direct Tv with teh basically same channels. I set it up installation for the next...

I had Direct TV for 25 years because I needed it for Sunday Ticket…why on God’s green Earth would anyone continue with that 1995 technology and Middle Ages customer service? Have now used both Hulu with Live Tv and You Tube TV and I don’t dread thunderstorms anymore.

I've heard nothing but bad about Spectrum. Not a huge fan of Comcast, either. If my Comcast provider added Bally Sports Wisconsin to their line up, most of my viewing problems would be solved. Then, of course, one would have to deal with the local market thing. A buddy of mine lived about a mile, as the crow flies, from me and has a different cable company than I do. He got all the Wisconsin programming except for the Wisconsin CBS affiliate out of LaCrosse, WI. Instead of getting that...

Money? You mean a few pennies while the lawyers make off with millions. I definitely got a call from DIRECTV once. They slipped HBO or some shit through without my permission after the call. I was rather grumpy. Cable free now. Not even YTTV. Love it!

Comcast for many years... unfortunately. I explored cutting the cable, but everyone I talked to says DirectTV in our area is awful and there is no other game in town. I thought, hey! I'll just get internet from Comcast and piecemeal my streaming. The trouble was, just for the internet to my house it's $99 a month plus fees. Did I say there is no other game in town? By the time I got done adding up the streaming services (YTTV was $60 a month alone), I was paying more than $200. In the end, I...

A heads up for anyone that has Spectrum services... Apparently, they have "upgraded their billing system" and this resulted in new account numbers being assigned. Of course, they promptly billed the same month on both the old and new account numbers. Slimy coc*suc*ers

Yeah, after asking questions from folks here, I switched to yttv, but I'm keeping directv until after the Alone season is over on the History channel. Unfortunately, that's one of my favorite channels and yttv doesn't carry that channel. But yeah, can't wait to ditch directv - prices are sky high, the tech is old, they're constantly fighting with local channels so we're missing local channels for periods of time, and they don't have sunday ticket anymore. The one nice thing about directv the...

That it, isn't it. If you are a true TV aficionado, Direct TV is the only way to go. If you don't mind a few holes in the programming, go with YTTV. And if you couldn't be assed about TV other than a program here and there, do what I did and put up an antenna.

Agree with Goalline here. We have both YTTV but still use an antenna for some local stations that YTTV does not carry.

Definitely a balancing act and on e they have everyone hooked on their drug (streaming) I'm sure the price will go way up. Where can I watch History channel? Cord-cutters can choose among six live TV streaming services to watch History Channel without cable or satellite. DIRECTV STREAM, frndly TV, Hulu Live TV, Philo, Sling TV and Vidgo all carry History in their channel lineups.

Kind of like insurance which seems to get more expensive each year you're with a company. You have to shop them every year to get the best rates. I think I've been with just about all the insurance companies at this point except The General.

I wonder if other cable outlets are doing this with the other Bally Sports franchises? Anyone here with Bally Sports Wisconsin or another Bally Sports franchise? Bally Sports North was the home of the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Wild and sometimes the vikings' broadcasts. It would appear that is no longer the case.

The cable provider here in western Wisconsin dropped Bally in January. We subscribed to Bally this year to get the Brewer games. I hated having to dish out extra money but we watch too many games to just give it up cold turkey.

If he's in range of the station a digital antenna might solve his problem. Mine cost $20 and I get a better picture that's sometimes 30 seconds closer to real time than the cable box.

Been slowly weening off of Spectrum for years. For the past 6-7 years had Spectrum only for internet. Use YTTV for regular tv, dvr, etc. Pay $120 per year to uzzu.tv for all sporting events, plus have the other services like Netflix, Prime, etc. We've been testing T-Mobile's home internet and so far so good. The upload speeds are a bit slower, but we've had multiple streaming services open while I've been connected to my work's VPN with no blips or slowdowns in service. We have T-Mobile for...

It looks like it will be in time for the next NBA season. TV Answer Man, do you know when Amazon will start selling the Bally Sports channels? — Jimmy, Detroit. Jimmy, Diamond Sports, the owner of the Bally Sports regional sports networks, announced in January that Amazon has agreed to invest in the company. If the deal is approved by Diamond Sports’ bankruptcy court, which is likely, it will allow Amazon’s Prime Video to sell the streaming version of the Bally Sports RSNs. (Diamond Sports...
