There is absolutely an advantage to being the #1 seed because it’s very possible you avoid having to play Clemson or LSU in the semifinal game. You think O$U would want to play both of them (potentially) to win the title? Clemson and LSU have the athletes and QBs and offense to match points with the Suckeyes. As for Fleck, seems to me you either love him or hate him. I’m in the latter camp. He sure seems to like mugging the cameras for attention - whether it’s body surfing in the locker room...

The Steelers will be making several cuts in order to keep Mike Wallace AND create some cap space. DE Aaron Smith will be getting the ax and James Farrior thinks he may be next.

I guess thats why I think we could have given the same or a similar deal to Hamilton. He instantly makes us the most prolific offense in the national League. Sure, it increases payroll but sometimes you have to spend money to make money. Maybe it was my own personal pipe dream. Still need to address the starting rotation IMO. I like what the kids on the farm are doing. Love some of the outings we were given by them throughout the season, but now we are talking about a sustained effort for an...

Watched the last minute after Ax Men was over. I'd put Gabe up against any NFL player any day. Pretty cool that team Rice went for 2. Win or lose, that's the way to play. Ties are for pussies.

Ax need to see nothing but low leverage situations for a few weeks. He also needs to drop one or two fastballs behind the hitter by 3 or 4 feet until guys aren't planting thier feet so well against him. "Just throw it at the bull, trust me. "

thoughts Can't remember a game where each team had bases loaded, no outs, and failed to score a run. Weeks- your AB in the 8th bothered me most. 3-0 count and you fly out weekly. Didn't like your AB in the 11th, but you were called out on an obvious ball. I don't know if Ax comes out for a second inning with a deeper bench. If Braun could hit and Jean stays in the game, I don't know if we see him. Yuni needs to be cut. He hung Segura out to dry. I don't have a problem with Parra's play per...

Tom ‏@Haudricourt 2m #Brewers manager Ron Roenicke didn't make it official yet but it sure sounds like John Axford is out as closer. http://bit.ly/10NrYMw Cheers to RR for not wasting any time with this. We know the Ax story by heart. Put in several low leverage situations to get himself corrected.

Thats a smart move by RR there, for a lot of reasons. I do not luv Axford but IMO, we need him this year as the grind plays out over the next 6 months. I pray he gathers it up and uses all of his tools instead of panicing and getting a little tunnel-visioned. LuCroy needs to help him out here and don't spoonfeed Ax when he is in ... gettin on his arse a little bit and making him be aggressive might be more of an answer than they think. Go Crew !!

link •The Orioles can forget about acquiring Yovani Gallardo as they are on his ten-team no-trade list and the Brewers would prefer to make a clean deal with no restrictions. Meanwhile, the Brewers' pitchers are getting hot at the right time - Gallardo, Francisco Rodriguez, and John Axford have all looked strong as of late and could draw interest from contending clubs. Day off tomorrow, Krod and Ax should be traded by noon.

I've stated multiple times I think Braun did something, and frankly, ignoring that I've stated that simply fuels a strawman argument. That said, I also think MLB absolutely has an ax to grind with him specifically because he beat the system last year. I've had issues with the processes MLB has taken from the onset. From the leaked documents, to the setting up ESPN to forward the narrative, to the inconsistent punishments, to the fact that there is no failed drug tests. One of my bigger...

I think this perfectly captures the mindset of many Brewer fans -- sure Braun cheated, but MLB has also had a personal vendetta against the guy ever since he was cleared by the arbiter. The problem is, I think this mentality is based on a false assumption that this is personal between MLB/Selig and Braun. It's becoming increasingly clear that...

http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com...mplete-axford-trade/ We had good reports and [pro scout] Leon Wurth recently saw him and liked his arm,” Melvin said. “He’ll be here tomorrow and we’ll see if we can get him in some games in September.” Blazek’s fastball averaged 92-95 in his outings with the Cardinals, according to the website FanGraphs.com. Well, he has a live arm at least. Considering Ax was probably gone at the end of the year, this was a decent move (not decent being holding on to Ax and...

If thats true, someone needs to be shown the door IMO ... Either the guy at the top of the Defense is out of touch with reality, too arrogant or both .. OR someone beneath him said they could handle it. Either way someone has to get the ax and I do not want to hear about knee-jerk reaction, this was a major idiotic miscalculation.

Looking forward to the game even more now that Miami lost yesterday. Wisconsin clearly controls their playoff destiny. Win out and they are a lock. That starts today in Murderapolis. Minnesota will get better under Fleck but I see two clear advantages in this one today favoring Wisconsin. The Goofs are allowing a lot of yards on the ground - something to the tune of 170 per game. If Taylor/Shaw/James don't get the ball 50 times then something is wrong. The other factor is the Minnesota...
