Re: Positives and negatives
Perhaps those who call for firing MM can identify the candidate who will replace him. No, it won't be Cowher, Gruden, or Dungy...they aren't leaving the broadcast booth. Harbaugh?? Not leaving Michigan, his alma mater, 2 years in (unless he wins a national championship this year). So who is the wonder coach to be brought in?

Re: Positives and negatives
We don't know if Harbaugh would refuse until we ask him. I don't think a defensive minded coach is the answer either. I want someone who can utilize what we already what we have on offense and pick his coordinators. I think we have seen a talent drain on the GM staff and maybe that needs to be addressed as well.

Re: Sneaky Pete vs I Suck Feet game thread (Sea vs Buff)
I continue to struggle with not knowing which team I detest the most. The Vikings, Cowboys, or Seahawks?? I think it's the Seahawks because of Carroll. Every time I see that guy I'm overcome with an incredible urge to punch him in the face. Similar to whenever I look at Jim Harbaugh. Maybe I should seek counseling.

Re: Playoffs
Speight reportedly will be out for the remainder of the season with a broken collarbone, although he could potentially return for the team's bowl game, according to MGoBlog.com. Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press later confirmed the report. However, that contradicts what head coach Jim Harbaugh said Monday, when he called Speight a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Indiana, per Snyder. "It's going to depend on how he feels," Harbaugh said. "Could be a [game-time decision]. We...

That's the equivalent of all the chatter about Jim Harbaugh, Urban Meyer and Nick Saban and putting them altogether to form a super GM/coach of the Packers. MM has get fired first.

Re: Interesting Post From an ND Football Board
Brian Kelly would also have to be fired. In 2015, Brian Kelly's ND went 10-3 and ended up #11 in the final poll. They lost by 2 points at Clemson (#2 in final poll), by 2 points at Stanford (#3), and to Ohio State in the bowl game (#4). Yes. Notre Dame is down this year, but I can't imagine them firing him less than a year removed from an outstanding season.

Re: Interesting Post From an ND Football Board
Brian Kelly is much like MM....very stubborn, overly loyal to terrible assistant coaches, can't commit to the run game, and is not able to adjust during a game. Just watch tape of the game they played in near hurricane conditions a few weeks ago at North Carolina State (a game that should have never been played) and explain why Kelly was compelled to stick to a shotgun formation, empty backfield and continue to throw the ball. Then he threw the center under the bus after the game for some...

Re: It's Chargers Week
It's funny.....I was thinking they should've flown straight from K.C. to L.A. Spent the entire week out there. You give the guys a chance to "check things out" then you get back to work for the weekend. I know this worked (Harbaugh I think did this) for the Niners when they had to play Carolina then in Ohio vs. the Bengals. It's gotta be tough for a rookie HC -- especially a young one. Don't forget he's only like 4 years older than Rodgers.

Going straight from KC. to LA makes a lot of sense, plus it would have given the body a chance to adjust to the 80 degree weather.

Re: Birds vs Birds game thread
Why is clock management such a hard concept for these coaches to grasp? First you have Harbaugh. Cards run the ball on first and goal from the 3. The Ravens for some reason don't call a timeout. Arizona winds up scoring with a minute left. Then you have the Cardinals. They stop Baltimore on 3rd down with 43 seconds left and decide not to use their final timeout.

The NT had Johnson and then let him go. BS call by refs. Why didn't Harbaugh throw the flag?

Re: Patriots odd-on favorite to win SB 47
They are getting a lot of hype for Moss and Manningham. I'll need to see it on the field first. Manningham is a good #3 but I don't think he'll be more than a decent #2. Moss is Moss, he's going to play when he wants to play. Maybe Harbaugh can coax a decent effort out of him. I wouldn't bet on it.

Re: Game 1 against the 49'ers
I managed to collect a few comments and a few links on the 49ers over the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I didn't take the time to present them as well as Titmfatied does, but you'll manage -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio can’t say enough about the widely unsung value of DT Ray McDonald. “He is a big, big piece in our defense, both in run and pass defense,” Fangio said. “He plays the run and rushes the...

I am personally placing a hundred-dollar bounty on the head of Jim Harbaugh McCracken. He's the head coach and chief punk on that San Fransico team. "Hi Ogie. Buy you a soda after the game?"

As much of a pushover as he can appear to be at times, I'm thankful McCarthy is not one of those coaches who has the emotional maturity of a 14-year-old girl listening to Nickelback, as Schwartz and Harbaugh are. Those teams should be embarrassed.

Well stated Rusty, so much for demonstrating poise under pressure Harbaugh and Schwartz.

Re: Just a thought about Harbaugh...
It wasn't just any play, it was the fumble that lost the game against the Cardinals in overtime. Mike is a class act, Harbaugh is the same jackass he's always been (way back to his time with Ditka's Bears). Certainly did outcoach McCarthy today, though.

Re: Just a thought about Harbaugh...
It gets a little old seeing Harbaugh 15 yards out on the field yelling at the refs multiple times a game. For Christ's sakes, he spent more time on the field than Donald Driver.

Yep. He's one of the best coaches on the planet. Had his guys play with an intensity and focus the Pack failed to match.

Re: Just a thought about Harbaugh...
If there was any HC I thought would be "playing an angle" (cheating), I think it could be Harbaugh. He just strikes me as a guy who will do anything or say anything, so he can win. Now...am I saying he is cheating for his team to win? No. But watching his behaviour, hearing his comments and seeing how he took a poor team to a 13-3 record literally overnight last year, just makes me wonder if there is a little extra something going on.

Re: Just a thought about Harbaugh...
These replacement refs are out of their league, and Harbaugh will work any angle to win. First Niner win in Wisconsin in 22 years.

Re: Just a thought about Harbaugh...
The 49ers should have been in the playoffs 3-4 years ago. Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary (especially the latter) were just both very bad head coaches.

This. I suspect but I would have a hard time hanging around this guy and he seems like a guy who should have been beat up several times in his life only to be saved by his big bro and teammates but he's a great coach.

Re: Just a thought about Harbaugh...
It seems that way. He's ultracompetitive on the field and in the locker room, that's for sure. I have heard good things about Harbaugh off the field though, he's apparently got a good side to him away from football.

Re: Positives/Negatives Packers vs Derp Chicago's
Un phucking real. H5 and GBP1 glance. + Mike McCarthy. Nothing short of genius play calling. Can we stfu about harbaugh now, or should we wait until the playoffs? - The no team has more weapons because it's in bold team with all the unstoppable matchups and it's hard to believe they don't score 48 points per half and juggernaut juggalo BS. Players...not so good.

Re: 9ers.
Colts are now 6-4 after the beat down by the Pats. I'd hardly call them a "bottom dweller" Bottom line we didn't lose to any bottom dwellers. Let me know when they start an "Almost" column in the standings. Even with all the warts, the Packers should be a minimum of 8-2. Alex Smith is done. 9'ers are a better team with Kaepernick at QB. Wonder if Harbaugh will recognize that by the time the Packers & 49'ers meet.

How many years left on Smith's contract? That will decide whether harbaugh plays the kid or not. MONEY! Still not convinced Kaepernick is better than Smith. ONE GAME! ONE!
