Re: Positives and negatives
If I remember correctly I would say half the board **** their pants over hiring the OC from one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Translation: shiny, pretty new ponies usually are a product of their system, not their individual coaching "genius". Seriously, did anyone really think Philbin would make a great coach? Point being TT actually did a damn solid job in picking MM. I don't know what the reality is of Peyton vs MM but both went on a pretty similar path and had some success. While MM's...

Re: Playoffs
I think the committee factors in multiple criteria, but at the end of the day they pick who they believe are the best 4 teams in the country. I agree that the B1G winner SHOULD go, along with the SEC and PAC12 winners as those teams have gone through a gauntlet of inter-conference play AND won a championship outright. The Big 12 needs a championship game to legitimize their champion. If you want to compare quality wins: -Michigan has the best argument with 4 wins vs. Top 25 teams with 3 of...

Re: Playoffs
Great post. But in this last part I think this is where strength of schedule has to come into play. If you are going to use record to give Washington the edge, I cannot agree. Not with their weak SOS and the way WI had to face a gauntlet of quality opponents week after week. And WI looked and played well in their only two losses. Holding MI to 14 at the Big House after they had just put up 45 and 49 on two other now top 10 teams and being in the game right up until an amazing 4th quarter...

Re: Playoffs
If you're just looking at numbers next to their team names, sure. But who have these teams played? What are their strength of schedules? You will see that WSU got beat by E. Washington and doesn't have a single good win on their record- I don't even know how they're ranked. They fattened up on the weak underlings of the conference and lost every game against a team that didn't suck. Utah has losses to Cal and Oregon (both really bad teams) in addition to losses to Washington and Colorado.

Re: Playoffs
Colley looks like they give a quality rank to each win or loss. Look at them side by side in the link. The Utah win has a quality rank below Bucky's win vs Minnesota and way below the wins over Iowa and Nebraska. Wisconsin's loss to OSU is very near the quality rank of Washington's win vs Portland St. WI total quality number is 344 Washington is at 361 Lower is better.....OSU is at 275 My point every which way you look to compare Wisconsin and Washington....WI looks to have the better reseme.

Re: Playoffs
Right and that is the win-win scenario for WI if they beat Penn St. We can all have fun and argue for a spot in the playoff, but if we don't get in....Rose Bowl vs Colorado will much more fun to watch than having to face Alabama.

Re: Playoffs
Everybody seems to forget That Bucky went to Iowa and beat them while Michigan lost at Iowa. That should count for something when considering Badgers vs. Michigan for a playoff spot.

Re: Playoffs
Chris Peterson, James Franklin and Paul Chryst are pleading with the committee to rank them no higher than fifth. Relax, I know they aren't. Wisc/Penn State Vs Wash in the Rose Bowl would be a good game. Badgers would of course be my preference. I hope Clemson has a rough time tonite, dropping them to 4. Put Mich at 3 vs 2 OSU. Bama, OSU, Mich and Clemson are IMO the best 4 teams.

Yeah Daniels gets careless, but I would rather have a guy who is too passionate vs. too passive. I love the way Mike Daniels plays, his poorly timed penalties suck, but I wouldn't change a thing about him or his game.

I thought he'd regain some of his athleticism with the weight loss, but it has not happened. Almost as depressing as watching Lacy's college highlights vs. his long "run" vs. Cards in playoffs.

Re: Since No One Else Has The Stomach For It....Pos/Neg
No idea if he'd have kept it up as the weight started creeping. But he was running hard before the injury and averaging over 5 yards per carry. Don't agree with the comments that Eddie was a disappointment this year. He wasn't. He just got injured.

Re: Since No One Else Has The Stomach For It....Pos/Neg
Eddie has amazing feet for a guy his size, which makes him a good RB, however there is just no way that he is as good at 260 as he is at 230. Look at Elliot from Dallas. Picture him with 30 pounds of added fat on him, do you think he'd be as good as he is now?

Re: 2 years ago...
They're the exception, not the rule. They're eeking out wins over mediocre teams and getting pummeled by good teams aside from a 7 point win vs. Kansas City.

Re: The Ugly, The Bad ...and the Good?
The good: Once again, a lot of individual players having good performances that amount to nothing in the end. Spriggs was probably the nicest surprise. The bad: Anything and everyone that has any connection to our current defense. To say that we have been decimated by injury would be an understatement. And we have guys playing hurt who have no business being on the field, but they are put out there to trot around the best they can simply because there's nobody else available. Our veterans,...

Re: Auf Wiedersehen Klinsy!
The stuff coming out now is Jerry Springer $hit... Basically told his boss that they lost the Gold Cup because it was fixed for Mexico to win so they would have to have a big money playoff game vs. the US for the Confederations Cup berth. Arena is not the long term answer though...I think Gulati is feeling the heat, and just trying to get the team qualified for the WC, and will worry about the long term after 2018.

Re: Viking Clap vs Our Man Dak game thread
The 2 point try from the Vikings has been THE sports talk today. That play has been analyzed 1000's of times now, there has been MUCH wailing and gnashing of teeth, discussion of referees, replay... And, of course, that should've been a penalty against DallAss. It reminded me somewhat of the play vs the Cards where ARod got hit on the facemask and it wasn't called. What nobody is talking about is the Vikes LT moved early on that play. He is starting his set while the other OL are still in...

Adams ran a quick out route on 3rd and 2 and turned up the sideline. Got behind Lane and put his hand up. Aaron hit him in stride. Sweet TD.

I hate DirecTV so much. Why can't they just have a no blackout policy for the first five minutes of the game? Oh, I know why. CBS and FOX affiliates would lose an insignificant amount of ad revenue if they allowed that.

Seattle rushing just to contain AR with Wagner spying him. Puts pressure on their DBs and it cost them on that long pass. Interesting to see if they keep that up and if we can gash them.
