Re: Aaron #6 out of 100
On Rodgers and the idea of holding the ball too long... I did some internet searching back on July 20. Just didn't bother posting. Anyway, I came upon what I thought was a solid article that discussed Rodger's (for him) highly subpar passing stats last year and how they suddenly improved starting with the winning streak (after the Pack was 4-6). The author said that Nelson was not yet back to speed and Adams was running crappy routes and later in the season. Jordy was close to his old self...

Re: Decipher this quote (paraphrase)
Henry , you usually come into topics with fists flailing and spit flying. But topics that you create can be some of the best thought-invoking subjects for discussion. This is one. My feeling is that there's not a rift between McCarthy & Rodgers, although I do think ARod can get frustrated with plays called, how long it may take to get that call (limiting pre-snap time), and clock management in crunch time. I'm also willing to bet he runs the plays as called the majority of the time, but...

His Criteria 1. A backup quarterback who could win half the games he started if he had to start 4: I guess the Packers don't score high on this, no one knows what Harrell can/will do...but I like the track record of McCarthy. 2. A second running back who could be a 1,000 yard back : Heck, the Packer starter probably isn't a 1000 yard rusher with their passing tendencies 3. A third wide receiver who could go in for a starter down 5 passes per game: The Packers have 5 receivers who could do...

Re: Why NFL players go broke
I personally know an ex-nfl player who is now broke and divorced. Granted he only played 6 years and was never a star, but made the same dumb mistakes the author noted, even though he is academically smart. My analogy is take away a CEO's money, and possessions, and all business connections...then give him and a bum off the street with no money 100,000K. Within a year the CEO will be a mult-millionaire and the bum will be back in the street.

Re: Packers streak - never trailed in 4th quarter
I'm not sure how this article, or the "front runner" one, are perceived as negative towards Rodgers. The author is basically just stating the facts which show that Rodgers and the Packers are consistently dominating teams early in games (prior to the 4th quarter) and holding their leads. 11 games in a row without once trailing in the 4th quarter is an impressive streak, the most in NFL history, and that's why I posted it. EDIT: Front runnner article I went back and looked at the front runner...

Re: 5 truths about training camp - Andrew Brandt
I thought this was quite interesting, especially the many discussions we have about the subject: Although the author makes it sound like these are set in stone, surely the team has to be be flexible. Injuries are unpredictable. And I agree with you, Hungry , a mention of how these 'fringe' players' ability to play ST and/or multiple positions can factor into roster decisions would have been appropriate.

Re: Al Madness
Was a pretty interesting day one of the Al Madness 2013 tournament. The Ladies Region College Girls were clearly not hurt from being fallen on so often from Al Bethke, and went on to a dominating win over boyish (AND SOCIALIST FACIST LIBERAL) Ashley Judd. Slight upset in the other game as Meghan McCain squeezed out a tight win over Danica Patrick. Meghan's latest column on WND proved to be the decisive play of the game. Danica was considered a sleeper favorite for the title after her...

Here's a trick for a temporary solution until I can get the color scheme straightened out....tilt your monitor or laptop screen slightly & you'll see the colors better when using IE. Re: Injuries
From Deadspin today. Green Bay Packers: A big reason that we are so high on Green Bay this season is that they were, by far, the most-injured team in our Adjusted Games Lost (AGL) database last year. They became only the sixth team ever to conjure up more than 100 AGL in a season. While there was no great upward trend in this specific sample of teams—something your author blames on small sample size theatre and Matt Millen—they all showed a marked improvement in health next season. The fact...

OK Half Empty here's a rational response. You can choose to respond to it in the spirit that you claim you intended, or you can ignore it and further expose your schtick. The writer of this article (and many others) always seem at the ready with the "what if ___ happened, we'd have lost!" yet they NEVER look at the "what if ____ happened, we'd have won huge" side of the equation. Why is that? In the article you link, the author write the following: That's indeed a lot of "ifs". Yet, not a...

Re: Good article--Should 3 older vets be phased out?
I don't even get what the article is getting at. Should the Packers start phasing out Woodson because he's old? They're already prepared for Driver and Clifton getting old, so what is the author saying? I'd venture to guess that the Packers have fewer starters over age 32 than any team in the NFL. That's amazing when you realize how good this team is.

I can't find the definitive description that I'd use for myself, but probably closer to Tough Old Angry Guy. I'd say the author has a pretty good cross-section of this board! There are a couple of exceptions; we are lucky enough to have very few Bandwagon Jumpers, if any, and I don't think we have any Cry Baby-types. We better not have, anyway! This is exactly why someone should be skepical of the official story. You expect me to believe that a bunch of islamic men whos leader is hiding in a cave hi jacked 4 planes perfect timing, precision flying and aiming, first objective twin towers total success, 2nd objective attack possibly the heaviest guarded area in the word (pentagon) with total success. I'll bang my head against the wall for a couple of minutes. You still haven't explained how all the people involved could be coordinated for a cover up of this size. So? Not true. Several of the planes, if not all of them turned off their trasnponders. There was so much confusion that they thought Flight 93 was still in the air on it's way to D.C. after it crashed. Which is what they should have done. Point? Do you have any idea how much stuff got by airport screeners? People get guns...
