Re: Playoffs

Grave Digger ·
When you start getting in to the comparisons of common opponents though it gets murky and not really that helpful. Michigan dominated Penn St., OSU lost to Penn St., but it doesn't matter because OSU won the head to head with UMich. Penn St. also beat Iowa, who beat Michigan. On the other hand, North Dakota St. also beat Iowa, who beat Michigan. Then you throw Pitt into the mix who beat both Penn St. AND Clemson, but lost to Miami who lost to Florida St., who got beat by Louisville, who lost...

Brian Kelly is much like MM....very stubborn, overly loyal to terrible assistant coaches, can't commit to the run game, and is not able to adjust during a game. Just watch tape of the game they played in near hurricane conditions a few weeks ago at North Carolina State (a game that should have never been played) and explain why Kelly was compelled to stick to a shotgun formation, empty backfield and continue to throw the ball. Then he threw the center under the bus after the game for some...

The Ugly: The NFC North overall. The Vikings won today, but wow, with that offensive line, I don't know if they have more than a couple more wins in them it is that bad. The Lions are the Lions and I think at best that is a 9-7 team, maybe an 8-8 team. One thing that does help both teams... one of them will automatically be 7-4 after Thanksgiving since they play eachother. Having 7 wins going into December might be enough for the winner of that Vikings/Lions game to barely limp to a division...

It's bears week. I don't care if you've read my diatribe before. It's time to remember that regardless of what the morons to the North do, or whether they win some games, or there's a meth addled Favre family member running around in Minneapolis, as a Packer fan, I must remind you that the bears that were, are, and always will be our main rivals. Period. Full Stop. Next Paragraph. There is no discussion. There is no debate. There is no 2nd place. The bears are THE rivals. The bears should...

PKR North, because I am on vacation in Canada, I also listen to SiriusXM and Wayne/Larry. I like the guys and agree that they are not so much homers as compared to others. The SiriusXM allows me to listen to the other teams guys as well if I want. One time listening to MN radio made me want to throw up. But to me the Bears rivalry is still the best in the NFL. I hate the Bears. I have too many years of Packers fandom to do other.

Interesting link about rivalries (in this case Ravens/Steelers) https://www.theplayerstribune. com/en-us/articles/ed-reed- hines-ward-ravens-steelers- rivalry-afc-north Basically, both teams need to be good to make a good rivalry. The Bears have been bad for too long, so we may forget how much we hate them. OTOH, I like kicking them while they are down.

If the Vikings children on this board can stay out, I would appreciate that. Trash talking can go to the NFC North board. I would rather candidly talk about the game here. The Vikings are so much better than us, it's not funny, except at the magic position. QB! And at the two tackle positions, I guess. To beat those guys at Minny, everyone needs to raise their level of play and Arod needs to be Arod.

I am not entirely sure that the gap between the Packers and Vikings is as huge as many think. Now I do agree that the spermheads D is better but I am still not sold that their offense is better than the Packers. I do think that the Packers HAVE to start quickly in this game and get a lead. The Packers simply can't afford to have a sluggish start and the leadership on this team needs to make sure everyone understands that. One other thought I have is that I bet #12 is going to be very...

Cook is a lot better than anything we can drag out there next week, and I think Thielen and Diggs are better than Adams and Cobb. That one is close though. Our line is better. Their defense is better than ours at every position, but then again, that defense has to face #12. Ours doesn't.

There defense is strong across the board, but Daniels and Clark as almost as good as any interior DL duo in the league. Clark is an elite DL who is still only 23 years old. He's the one elite draft pick from the disasters that were the 2015 and 2016 TT draft (Martinez and Lowry and even Montgomery are decent picks - the other 11 are just awful).

BTW, time is running out to visit the NFC North forum and place your bets with the captive Vikings' fans. Got $100 with Jaymo. He doesn't want my money because he's highly successful and I'm poor, so $75 goes to an animal shelter, and $25 goes to Boris. I can't imagine someone who talks so much **** and is as well to do as Jaymo would turn down any bet you guys are willing to offer.

I advocate for having only 2 divisions within each conference. I would use East/West to break up monopolies (like the current AFCE) since there are so many teams located in the North. Retaining the current system of overall record and tiebreakers, the winners of those divisions are seeded #1 and #2 and earn the bye week. Teams 3 through 6 are accordingly seeded to fill out the field. I think this would essentially eliminate the possibility of an 8-8 team ever being seeded higher than a 12-4...

12-3 and NFC North Champs, again, sounds pretty good to me. Know what else sounds good? Kark going 0-9 on MNF! Minnesota looked hapless to me. They were only in the game because of our turnovers! Their O Line, after drafting O Line help for several drafts, looks as bad as ever. They had no answer for our Defense. What a great win for LaFleur and the Pack!
