I wanted to see Philben do well in Miami, and at least make the team competitive within their division. I won't root against them because of Suh, but I'm surely not going to root for them.

I just hate to see what this will do their salary cap.

Go figure. Guess it's because he's the prototypical N/S runner that Chip likes.

@AdamSchefter: Free-agent RB Frank Gore has told people he will sign this week with the Philadelphia Eagles, league sources told me and @caplannfl.

... and there went the Vikings' bargaining power.

@RapSheet: QB Mark Sanchez is heading back to the #Eagles, source said.

@MikeGarafolo: Mark Sanchez back to the Eagles on a 2-year deal worth $9m with $5.5m guaranteed, per source.

Way to go, Chip.

@mortreport: The Eagles' wild ride will continue: Jeremy Maclin plans to reunite with Andy Reid in Kansas City once free agent market opens Tuesday.

@mortreport: The Chiefs will have to clear salary cap space to get the deal done with Maclin. Most logical savings would be with Dwayne Bowe's contract.

Percy Harvin will be released tomorrow and supposedly the Packers and Patriots have interest. I believe the Patriots would, BB loves a good slot receiver and isn't afraid of the head cases, but this is not the Packers style. Attitude aside their MO is to groom young receivers to take over key roles, not bring in vet receivers off the street with no experience in the offense. I'm very skeptical of that rumor unless they're looking at him strictly as a returner maybe. Sounds fishy, but it might be an outside the box move that takes the offense to another level.

Man...and we bitch about the money spent to keep Flynn.

@RapSheet: The #Patriots are keeping S Devin McCourty after a hard push from the #Jaguars, the #Eagles and the #Giants.

Some serious coin. Can they keep Revis?

@RapSheet: #Patriots S Devin McCourty will sign a 5-year, $47.5M contract, source said. Wow. And... turned down more elsewhere.

You would have to think the Harvin move would be to improve special teams (returns) but that just does not seem like a GB move to me.  They usually steer clear of guys like that even though he's has a history of playing very well against them.

Well, as of right now:

@AlbertBreer: Crazy thing is even after the McCourty deal, the world champs only have one guy who's highest paid at his position -- and it's the kicker.

BB has been a leading proponent of the dictum "Better to release them 2 years too early than 2 years too late." Can't remember when Pats have had most expensive player at a given position. That and Brady's discount all add up.

@JasonLaCanfora: Rodney Hudson is going to Oakland. $44.5M on a 5 year deal. Someone taking the Raiders' money.

@JasonLaCanfora: Hudson turned down $6m a year from KC during the season. Chiefs hoped to keep him. One of top OL on market.

Wow. $9 mil/yr for a center. This comment is an understatement!

@JasonLaCanfora: Other OL will be pretty pumped seeing the Hudson deal. Should see more dominos fall for offensive linemen today.

McCarthy won't let harvin within 3 feet of his locker room

if you can believe anything out of SF, they're refuting the trade Squidward rumors.

from PFT:

After KBME radio in Houston reported the 49ers have put Kaepernick on the trade block, 49ers General Manager Trent Baalke issued a statement denying it.

Colin is our quarterback and we are excited to have him,” Baalke said. “He is not going anywhere. The media reports suggesting otherwise are without merit and, quite frankly, ridiculous.”

Doubt its for 9 million per year. How much is guaranteed and how much is the "Monopoly Money" factor? Some of these numbers for players who aren't QB's mean squat. It lets the agent brag and puts a big bulls-eye on the players back where he either has to renegotiate or be axed. Then again it is the Raiders................

Sounds like the Hudson deal is really front-loaded, which is fine. He's one of the better young centers in the league and further guts a division opponent. KC's really strong O-line from a couple of years ago is completely gone now.
