"Saints kick the can down the road with Junior Galette

The Saints helped clear up their present salary cap problem by creating a future one.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Saints restructured outside linebacker Junior Galette’s contract.

They turned the $12.5 million roster bonus he was due into a signing bonus, creating short-term cap space now so they don’t have to cut more players (like they did with Curtis Lofton earlier today).

While that clears $10 million for now, it just spreads the hit over the remaining five years, meaning they’ll have more hoops to jump through in future years."

@RapSheet: Free agent shocker: Frank Gore reconsiders potential/pending deal with the #Eagles, I’m told.

@AdamSchefter: Frank Gore has gotten cold feet on  signing with Philadelphia, as @RapSheet reported. Eagles now in market for other RBs. Indy wants Gore.

Wow. His agent is screwed if this deal falls apart. Teams won't want to deal with him.

At the moment of truth, The Packers front office decided that neither Chris Meyers nor Scott Wells was worth the contract's they were seeking in FA
Both wanted large, long-term deals and both got large, long-terms deals from other teams

Both centers, Chris Meyers and Scott Wells, were released this week after the fluff in their FA deals came due

How ironical; the extra money that caused them to take those deals- is the same extra money that got them cut. Just proves what my grandpa always said:

"never eat anything bigger than your head"

Yeah, not signing Wells was a very wise move.

Of course, to set the record straight, think it has to be noted that to replace Wells TT signed a truly washed up Jeff Saturday for $3.5M and Saturday was so terrible he did not even last the 2012 season.

Tears being shed in certain precincts of x4.

@RapSheet: After a hard push from #Seahawks (and #Raiders and #Broncos) TE Julius Thomas plans to sign with the #Jaguars tomorrow. Huge get.

@CharlesRobinson: #Raiders made a hard push for Julius Thomas today. With him off the board, Jermaine Gresham moves back up as a priority.

Now it's coming out that the 49ers may wind up cutting NaVorro Bowman, too (due to lingering health concerns, supposedly). He didn't play last year since he was still recovering from that horrible injury in the NFCCG, but they really need him back healthy next year to fill in for the loss of Willis. If he isn't on their roster next year, I'll have to adjust my prediction for the 2015 Santa Clara 49ers to 2-14.

They need a lot more than just ILB.  Wow that team is imploding.  It is fun to watch.

After the Packers won the super bowl I vowed to never question anything TT does.  He has put together a team that will compete at least for another 4 years.  You never see the Packers make knee jerk moves like the rest of the NFL.  Steady as she goes.  We are truly lucky to be Packer fans,

Seattle signs CB Williams.

No Bob, not Tramon, but former Eagle and Raven Cary Williams. At 6-1, 190, fits their mold as a bigger corner.

@RavensInsider: Cary Williams' three-year Seahawks deal is $18 million, gets $7 million 2015, $5 million in 2016 and $6 million in 2017, according to source.

With all the **** that went down in Santa Clara yesterday plus the Packers signing Cobb, all my co-worker could do was flip me off .

I'm going to cry when TT retires.

@AdamSchefter: Let's try this again: Frank Gore plans to sign with Indy, per source; deal expected to be similar to Philly offer: 3-years, $12M, $7.5M gtd.

Andre Johnson also visiting Indy today.

@AdamSchefter: And as @LanceZierlein also reported, Andre Johnson and Frank Gore scheduled to fly together from Miami to Indy on @JimIrsay's plane.

Add Vince Wilfork for a mega-U reunion.

@RapSheet: The #Saints have called around, open to shopping many of their players, source say. One notable player included: TE Jimmy Graham. For real.

@RapSheet: Jimmy Graham signed a 4-year, $40M deal last year. Has a $5M roster bonus due in 2 days. Clock is ticking for a #Saints deal.

Crazy, That tight window might be the realization once Russell Favre is paid, a lot of players can't be re-signed

Bears repeating...

That TT has a 20 mil dollar QB, retained Bulaga AND Cobb, entered FA 34 mil under the cap and produced a top 4 team is very impressive.

JEEZUS!! It doesn't stop!

The most amazing thing about SanFran Sissy is how quick they're falling apart. Just a couple of years ago, they were pretty much on top o' the world, and probably having decent revenue from merchandise sales, Kaperdick and Hairball had TV commercials and publicity, and all looked rosy.

Honestly, they have to try to be that bad. Makes no sense at all.

Have fun paying for that new stadium!
