Exactly, which begs the question....why would you pay a QB over 10% of your salary cap just to hide him with a good running game?  IMO, there are 15 QBs in the league that could have done what Romo did last year yet they're paying him top 3 money.  It'll be the same issue with Cutler if Fox can get that running game going.

Romo gets a lot of stick, deservedly at times. Most of that came from his having to carry that sorry-ass team year after year and his melting at the wrong time. No more pressure on any other player in the league than what he's had to deal with.

But the guy had a great season last year, most of it being pretty seriously dinged up. The performance he had against the Packers in the playoffs this past season was about as gutty as it gets. No ****ing way there are 15 other guys who play at the level he did last year.

Comparing his time in Green Bay to the Fantastic Four is pretty powerful stuff.

Very powerful!

McCloughan keeps grinding.

@AlbertBreer: The Redskins have traded a 2016 sixth-round pick to the Buccaneers for S Dashon Goldson anda a 2016 seventh-round pick.

@AlbertBreer: The Bucs invested 2 first-round picks and about $45 million since '12 to stock secondary with Barron, Revis and Goldson. All 3 are now gone.

Rivers grew up and played highschool ball in Decatur and Athens, Alabama...a short drive from Nashville. Maybe closer to family/roots ?? Plus he was a big fan of Wisenhunt when he was his OC.

Would be be a good move for Wisenhunt, that's for sure. Short window with no QB is a sure road to unemployment.  Only time he seemed a good head coach was when he had a veteran QB(Warner). Jake Lcker and Metenburger , not so much.

I think this makes sense for both teams.  The Chargers aren't going anywhere with Rivers this year and his lack of contract extension speaks volumes of his future in San Diego.  Better to ditch Rivers this year and bring in the future (ie: Mariota) than lose Rivers next year and have nothing.  I also think Mariota and McCoy would work well together.

And for Tennessee, they need to show progress this year or that entire staff is at risk of being fired.  They've been so bad for so long that it's worth bringing in an aging QB that only has 2-3 years left just to get a few successful seasons in and extend the coaching staffs tenure.
