@AdamSchefter: Chargers announced they signed Philip Rivers to a four-year contract extension through 2019.

@RapSheet: For #Chargers and QB Philip Rivers, it’s a 4-year extension worth between $84-85M in new money. $65M guaranteed, source said.

@RapSheet: Philip Rivers was already under contract for almost $16M in 2015. Add in roughly $84M over 4 years and it’s about 5 years, $100M.

Good. Pretty much ensures he'll finish his career as a Charger. Deserved.

You don't have to look any farther than the smoldering pile of embers that Rex built then urinated on on his way out the door in NY to know how his stint in Buffalo is playing out.

They'll play hard. Win some games. Lose when it matters. Pile up a ****load of personal foul penalties. Lose a lot. Then Rex will go to Denver as a defensive coordinator.

Rex is a better salesman than Rob. But Buddy's finest soldiers ended up in a Sheraton Kleenex watching Steel Curtain tapes.

Was in Seattle for visit Saturday. Sorry, Pete. Good.

@AdamSchefter: Denver is giving former Eagles' guard Evan Mathis a one-year deal that could be worth up to $4 million with playtime incentives, per source.

@MikeKlis: Evan Mathis deal is 1 year, $2.5 million with chance to earn $4 million. He had protested $5.5 mill salary in Philly, leading to release.

Boykin release confirmed by Charlotte media.

@jjones9: Confirmed Boykin's release. Panthers put him out early so he could latch on with a team

@ashstro: Boykin told me---"Appreciate the opportunity they gave me to show what I can do I respect their decision. Good luck to them & their season."
