@PackersNotes: Giants released Preston Parker, the young wide receiver GM Jerry Reese chose to keep over James Jones.
Can't blame the Giants for trying to go younger. They just made a mistake. Jones isn't the flashiest WR, just a solid, smart, vet who makes plays when it counts. The fact that he ran away from Sherman on that TD made me think he exposed Sherman as a bit vulnerable.
Years ago there was a college basketball team where the coach taught his guys to grab and pull down the opponent on top of them on out of bounds plays... they got a lot of fouls in their favor.
We all see Sherman grabbing and yet he has been getting away with it.
He's a version of AL Harris. Hate that they allow certain players to get away with it more than others.
While the above may be true, don't tell that to Giants fans who are screaming at front office for letting him go. And while I don't disagree with most 3/4 WR's in most systems it usually does take awhile to develop that rapport, Jones was showing plenty in PS with the Giants leading all WR's in production/yards.
Add to that as a slot WR, he was also highly productive in OAK playing a role that isn't his game. He's an outside guy.
It was a dumb move to let him go. If nothing else, he's a sure handed target in the RZ. A key area NY is struggling with this season.
I think the Giants releasing Jones was a great move.
@JasonLaCanfora: If the Cowboys do sign a QB today I'd expect it to be Matt Flynn, but have not heard a final determination yet.
@JasonLaCanfora: Flynn will take a physical for Cowboys at the very least with workouts complete. Dallas could opt to wait on any signing as well.

Jerry Jones: You won’t see a more gifted passer than Brandon Weeden
Posted by Michael David Smith on September 22, 2015, 12:06 PM EDT
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones thinks Cowboys General Manager Jerry Jones made a brilliant move when he signed Brandon Weeden as the backup quarterback.
Jones said on 105.3 The Fan that Weeden has all the tools to fill in capably for the injured Tony Romo.
“This quarterback Weeden can drive the ball down field,” Jones said. “He’s a thing of beauty on throwing a football. His passing motion and his arm, frankly, you won’t see a more gifted passer, power, accuracy, the entire aspect of it. If he can basically prepare, be the starting quarterback, come in and execute and keep his head right, then I feel good about Weeden.”
Unless Jerry Jones is talking about a different Brandon Weeden than the one who washed out after two seasons and a 71.8 passer rating in Cleveland, those comments are just a wee bit ridiculous.
I see a more gifted passer in Jameis Winston....in Marcus Mariota...Hell, in JAY CUTLER!
gotta sell those tickets, fill those seats at jerruh world... just a whore being a whore.
I recall Weeden's performance a couple of years ago in Lambeau and gifted isn't the word that comes to mind.
@WesHod: Former #Packers RB Rajion Neal signed onto Oakland's practice squad today. Brandon Bostick was let go from #Cardinals'.

@RapSheet: The #Cowboys are bringing up Kellen Moore from the practice squad, source said. They had QBs in for workouts, but will go with Moore.
@RapSheet: Matt Cassel has been traded [from the Bills] to the #Cowboys, source said.
@AlbertBreer: The Matt Cassel trade is predicated on a swap of late 2017 picks between the Bills and Cowboys, I'm told.
Better upgrade than Weeden. Not a bad trade until Romo gets back.
Cowbow fans are unlikely to "see a more gifted passer" than Brandon Weedon, at least until Matt Cassel's plane arrives in Dallas.
Jerruh, you are a piece of sh*t work.

Just more proof God is a PACKER fan. he obviously told the NY GM to release JJ so he could go back to the Packers.
If Eli could have drawn a defense offsides, rolled left and thrown a 32 yard tracer across his body with both feet off the ground inside a 16" window between a corner and safety and put it between the 8 and the 9 and make it look easy James Jones would still be a Giant.
James knows where to go. He knows the drill. Aaron does the rest.
Its only week 2 and Aaron's passes to Cobb in Chicago and Jones against Seattle are just silly reminders he's the best QB any of us have ever had the privilege of watching.
ammo, I'm thinking God let Reggie White handle that conversation, given his experience with those calls (Thanks, Holmy)!

"Ima go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren't," Chancellor said in a text message to Smith. "God forgives all, why can't i? Time to help us get back to the big dance. I can address business after the season. Me and Marshawn started a mission 2 years ago. I can't let my Dawg down....Real talk."

He can't let his dog down. Hmm, apparently, he needed a raise to satisfy his dogs needs. Holy crap, what is he feeding that thing?
Chancellor returns-Seahawks win. His value is evident.
I wonder if he'd have waited if Cutler was playing instead of Clausen.
Cutler seems to hurt himself a lot after picks. I'd think by now he'd be a tackling machine for all the ball carriers he ends up chasing. I wonder where he ranks on the Bears all time tackles list.

I owe, I owe, off to work I go.
Yes, Chancellor is coming back because Lynch just wants to win so darn bad....that is why he subbed himself out after one play on Seahawks drive after we went up 24-17, put some goofy-ass hat on, & chewed skittles on the bench....just a great teammate!

He has to include a certain Aaron Rodgers with those words. And the NFL hasn't seen a player like that in it's history. So if that is the case, why was Weeden on the bench?
Chancellor has the maximum leverage he'll ever have. The Hawks are 0-2. The defense, while still good, hasn't looked nearly as good in the back 4.
And he ends the holdout now? WHAT? I mean, I'm not advocating the holdout here, but if you want a new contract and you hold out for that, why in the world do you end it now? Why not just hold out TC and come back the last week? He just cost himself 2 game checks simply to quit now?
WAT
'Cause he missed a year of football due to his Rhodes Scholarship?
Have to think Kam looked at the Bears and Lions in Seattle the next two weeks and decided his leverage was going to dwindle rapidly. Even after that it's the Bengals, Panthers, 49ers and Dallas before the bye. Not a murderers row of offenses there.
Good chance he could have lost 6 more checks.
Better chance Kam lays out Jimmy Graham in practice this week.

Ray Rhodes giving away scholarship money?

I wonder if the Bears keap a 'road kill' list.

WTF do you expect him to say?
"No, Ray, American Universities won't take Bubble Yum in exchange for tuition. No, Ray, not even the Green Apple flavor."
WTF do you expect him to say?
What do I expect Jerry Jones to say?
"Oh, you're only 18! When did you start dancing at this club?"
"Why don't you come over here and sit on my lap, you pretty young thing?"
"Can I pour you more Hypnotiq? It's Kayla, right?"
"Why don't you grab the room key out of Uncle Jerry's front pocket sweetheart."
