The innerwebs are splintered over what Geno did and what he should have done. Two camps have started forming.

"Have to stand up to that guy" vs.  "You have to walk away from a nobody like that"

In the case of Geno, both are kind of correct.

If this exact same scenario plays out in GB, or New England, or Detroit, or Dallas. A second year journeyman get's into the grill of the QB, that QB is walking away and that journeyman nobody is dealing with the baddest ass on the OL if he decides he wants to go down that road. He won't.

The real problem here is Geno didn't really know with 100% certainty if he stood down anyone would have his back. He kind of had to stand in there on his own. Kind of admirable, but a reminder of Cam yesterday. Just not a lot of smarts.

Yeah I don’t blame Geno.  In hindsight he should have just paid the $600 but that’s beside the point.  Geno can’t stand down in front of his team, inside his locker room.  He may suck but he’s still a starting QB fighting for his job.

This other dude screwed up big time though.  Granted he didn’t seem like he was that good anyways so might have been cut and never played again, but he can kiss any shot of an NFL career goodbye.  Hope the $600 was worth it.  Idiot.
