Jones will end up as a Patriot.
Hopefully he will end up in NE v. Minnesota. He deserves something good.
@AdamSchefter: Vikings have exercised 5th-year options on LT Matt Kalil and S Harrison Smith, per team.
Kalil was a huge disappointment last year. Smith does a pretty good job. This year the Queens went all in on D and did pretty well. Zimmer is certainly putting his stamp on the defense. With AP and a better defense, the Queens could be much more dangerous. They still don't have a passing game but if -- bit IF -- AP is at all invested in running well for the team, they could be spoilers.
Kalil will be hell bent on "spoiling" any advances they make on offense.
@kentsomers: Whoa @azcardinals TE John Carlson announces retirement. That's a surprise.
IIRC multiple concussion victim.
He's a victim? Like some guy running around with a little hammer knocking guys in the melon?
Drive by bell ringing.
He played for the Vikings. Sounds like a victim to me.
Damn concussion fairy got him again.
His career might be done, unless Minnesota has some interest?
Hopefully he gets picked up by somebody
I would think that maybe the Browns might be interested and bring him in for a tryout.
When does James Jones show up in Minnesota?
Championship.
@AdamSchefter: Non-Deflate-Gate Patriots' news: former New England and Buffalo LB Brandon Spikes is in Foxboro today for visit with Patriots, per source.
Wow, surprising news. Is he out of shape?
He's just not good enough to be a Packer in 2015
They didn't draft a Big Body either....
That suggests they feel pretty good about the 9 other guys they've got in-house

10
10
Look again
It's 10. Lavon Hooks is missing. Maybe its subliminally missing. He's kind of a long shot. Same goes for Gaston.
Damn you Guion.
Damn you Ted.
@AdamSchefter: Patriots have signed free agent linebacker Brandon Spikes to a one-year deal, per @FieldYates and me.
eh, we don't need another slow ILB
Think the Steelers would trade us Shazier?
Justin Smith announced his retirement. Great, great player. I'm with TJ Lang on this one.
@TJLang70: What a great career Justin Smith had.. NFL will miss that dude. I will definitely not miss battling that BAMF. Cheers to the Cowboy.
DT Muhammad Wilkerson - is he just trying for a bit more cash at the negotiating table or is he truly interested in finding a new team ?
Jets drafted Leonard Williams with the 6th pick, so he's an in-house lower cost replacement.
@AdamSchefter: Broncos Pro Bowl LT Ryan Clady tore his left ACL during practice Wednesday and is likely to miss the 2015 season, a league source told ESPN.
@AdamSchefter: Both Mannings, Peyton and Eli, now have lost their starting LTs for into, if not for, the season. Ryan Clady torn ACL, Will Beatty torn pec.
At least the Giants have a possible solid replacement.
DT Muhammad Wilkerson - is he just trying for a bit more cash at the negotiating table or is he truly interested in finding a new team ?
Can we have him? Guy is a beast. Among 3-4 linemen, second only to JJ Watt, IMO.
Wilkerson is a beast, I'm drooling at the thought of it
I know the $16M in GB cap space is for Daniels and others, but a guy can dream can't he ?
I'm dreaming Raji goes full beast mode this season.
I'm dreaming of an injury free season, especially to our QB
Hear hear!
Per Adam Schefter:
Cam Newton signed 5-year, $103.8 million extension, per source. Earns him $67.6 million in first three year. Deal negotiated between Panthers and agents Bus Cook, Tony Paige and Chitta Mallik.
@AdamSchefter: Cam Newton's new 5-year, $103.8 million deal also includes $60 million guaranteed, per source.
So Matt Ryan-type money, big, but probably about right.
$100 million for Cam Newton is ****ing insane. He can't ****ing play QB!!! His career completion % is below 60%. His INT rate is just under 3.0. He is 1-3 in the post season with 5 TD's and 5 INT's in those 3 games even though Carolina plays in the ****tiest division in the NFL.
$100 million for Cam Newton is Re-got-dam-diculous.
I'm good with it
What Boris said.
It simply will drive RW's that much higher and force Schneider to pay a ransom he clearly does not want to. Which of course leaves less crumbs in the cupboard to re-sign other players. Fine by me.
