One of the rumors coming out of Seattle is that if forced to, Schneider would franchise RW for 2 years. Would love to see that. Because I highly doubt RW would show up and that would just be a to watch.

From Fox Sports 2 days ago:

Wilson's contract status has been the biggest story in Seattle and the more time has passed without an agreement, the more conjecture has grown about his long-term status with the team. Even without an extension, Seattle could use the franchise tag on Wilson, even if that might not be the best fit for the Seahawks' salary cap situation.

The franchise tag for the QB position for 2015 is $18.54M.

Pressumably Luck will sign a contract extension and the number for 2016 will be closer to $20M.

Schneider should be praying that Peyton Manning retires

If the 2015 franchise number is $18.54M... if Seattle used the tag again in 2016 his number would be $22.25M. Tag is 120% of the original tag number. If Schneider used it a third time...$26.7M. Number goes to 144%.

4th round Skins pick Jamison Crowder accused of this last night:

And more crap from the Broncos front office:

The Broncos are once again in the news for an offseason arrest of a member of the front office.

According to Mike Klis of KUSA, John Bowlen Jr., was arrested last night on a domestic violence harassment charge. He was held without bond overnight in the Arapahoe County Jail and has a scheduled court appearance this afternoon.

No other details of the arrest were included.

He’s the son of Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, who stepped down last summer, announcing he had Alzheimer’s disease.

John Bowlen Jr. still works for the Broncos, and is one of seven children under consideration to take over the team. Or, was.

Massachusetts State Police are investigating after a damaged car belonging to New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes was found abandoned in the median of Interstate 495 over the weekend. The 2011 Mercedes-Maybach was found with front-end damage at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in Foxborough

Must of went to the Lance Briggs school on how to abandon a car.

Pats in full damage limitation mode these days.

@AdamSchefter: Patriots released LB Brandon Spikes, per source. Wasted no time....

@adbrandt: Talent level did not merit "due process."

I hope and expect that the Packers do not conduct business in this manner. Pathetic.

That's just weird !

The first time I saw that movie I had the sudden urge to partake in the old in-out in-out, and I ate a whole lot of eggy weggies.

ok, just had to chuckle a little bit reading this superlative talk.

so chippy is "down a good football player" but in Barbre is replacing him with "an outstanding football player"?   sounds like an improvement... but it won't be.

from BSPN:

Kelly said Tuesday that he likes Mathis and wishes him well.

"He didn't want to be here. I wanted him to get whatever he could get. I hope it works out for him. He was great for us the two years that we had him. I like Evan a lot. If he wants to get released to see if he can get what he can get better, then we released him."

Allen Barbre is expected to step into Mathis' left guard spot.

"We obviously are down a good football player," Kelly said of the two-time Pro Bowler. "We're confident in the guys that we have. That's why we made the decision we made. Allen Barbre is an outstanding football player."

I've totally forgotten about the Eagles.

I was expecting the Niners to have the most spectacular train wreck this year, but the Eagles may very well be the train that runs off the bridge over a river.

I think every GM would quit because it proves any moron could do it.

Maybe I should apply then.  Probably pays better than what I get now.

Hmmm. Interesting. Really doesn't fit Kubiak's system.

@AllbrightNFL: #Broncos attempted to trade Peyton Manning this off-season to the Houston #Texans per more than one source in position to know. (1/2)

@AllbrightNFL: 2/2 Certain elements of Broncos organization wanted Osweiler era to begin this season.

@AllbrightNFL: Have two unrelated official sources on this, would be a hilariously oddly coordinated lie, if what they were telling me was untrue.
