Boris, I damn sure hope that it could be the start of things that could be ahead for Seattle.  I saw a lot of Seahags fans this year talking crap about how their team is built for the long haul blah blah.  I told them it is easier said than done when you win a super bowl and everyone wants to get paid, coaches take new gigs, free agents leave, etc. And they still need to get Wilson contract done (unless I missed that he signed)

Last I saw Russell wanted $22 million per minimum. And it was rumored he was looking to have 100% of the contract guaranteed.

That said, I think Jimmy Graham ends up ****ing the entire locker room up. Russell may not get his deal this year because of Jimmy. Lynch lost his pro bowl center because of Jimmy. Bennett wants his if Jimmy is getting his. Bobby Wagner is probably thinking this Jimmy thing is going to chase him off as well. In the words of Seinfeld, Jimmy causes problems.

Yup. It's a  lot easier winning a Super Bowl with a QB that plays for under $1 million

Steady as she goes in Green Bay. Trust the process. We've been doing this for 1/4 century now. Thank you Ron Wolf!

That right there is that stupid "win now" attitude that people criticize Thompson for not having. They needed a TE, but rather than show the patience to draft and develop a TE they make a splash, drop their only pro bowl OL, and their 1st rounder. They could have found a TE in r1 and the combination of that TE + Unger's impact on the blocking will be greater than Jimmy Graham's impact. No doubt in my mind. I don't know if Graham's arrival or contract or Unger's departure is at the root of this latest controversy (Bennett), but Im sure it's related and if it is the cause then it makes the trade even dumber. Bennett is easily their best DL and now he wants out after they lost their #2 CB, C, and LG. Subtracting key players and adding overrated talent is a poor way to run a team.

Vikings got themselves a real winner here. Cashed in and has mailed it in ever since.

Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey does not hold a high opinion of former teammate Mike Wallace.

The All-Pro center ripped into the veteran wide receiver during an interview with a local Miami television station. Wallace, who pulled himself out of the Dolphins' season finale against the New York Jets, was traded to the Minnesota Vikings last week.

"First of all, in my opinion, he's a coward," Maurkice Pouncey told CBS Miami in a taped interview that will air later Tuesday. "I never want a guy on my team like that, man. To walk out on your band of brothers."

Maurkice's brother, Dolphins center Mike Pouncey, was also part of the interview. He addressed the Wallace trade as well, though was far more diplomatic on the topic.

"Obviously our organization felt that way about some guys, and they got those guys out of our football team," he said. "I think it was the right move for everybody."

NFL Media's Jeff Darlington reported at the time of Wallace's self-benching that many teammates were very displeased and saw it as a sign that the highly paid receiver had abandoned them. It sounds as if Maurkice Pouncey, who played with Wallace for three seasons in Pittsburgh, articulated what many in Miami probably still feel.

That's easy to say when we have front row seats to an organization that can make D&D work via a talented coaching staff and personnel department.  I would guess most teams out there may not succeed if they tried D&D because they could do neither well.  And because of that they have to sign guys who are already drafted and developed.  Unfortunately that doesn't often work for them either.

More crazy money.

@viccarucci: The #Bills have given an offer sheet that Charles Clay has signed. The #Dolphins have 5 days to match.

@viccarucci: The #Bills' offer to Clay is for 5 yrs and $38 million. More than $20 million guaranteed.

@viccarucci: More on the #Bills' offer sheet to TE Charles Clay: $24.5 million over the first 2 years.

@JasonLaCanfora: Not sure the Dolphins match that offer sheet to Clay. $24.5M over 2yrs very steep with Suh's #s huge and the potential need to do QB deal

Buffalo forces a division rival to go to overpay to keep a TE they didn't think they'd lose. Miami  can't match the offer based on Buffallo giving Clay that much next year, Miami doesn't have the cap space. Unless they clear some space that is.

So Buffalo will "win" then remember EJ Manuel is throwing the ball to a $12 million TE.

Simply amazing.

Boris, I have to stop and think sometimes how freaking lucky we have been to have the Packers ran so well for as long as they have.  Players come and go, coaches come and go, the league has changed, other teams have wild ups and downs, and still the Packers are as steady as they can be.

As for Russell Wilson I won't dispute he is really good but is he 22 million a year good?  I think if Seattle gives him that kind of coin they will have to work really hard at the cap in the next few years.
