Damn, did the Packer forum go a full day yesterday without a post? That probably hasn't happened in a long time.
Is it the dead period between mini camp and training camp?
Or do the mods need to get Henry back here to increase clicks?

2 full days actually
I guess that's actually true. Posts on the 27th and 29th but the stuff on the 27th was early morning.
Well, I'm convinced then. It's Henry.
Maybe we need school to start back up?
Itβs only the Bakersfield school district is where you have all that time to do that
Pretty sure the Bears are headed to Arlington Heights.
Mayor should put a dome over her dome, cuz thatβs one fugly be-otch!!!

Mess...
In a lengthy post that was shared this Tuesday morning, Smith explained why he wants out.
Smith, a former first-round pick out of Georgia, has lost trust in Chicago's new front office regime. He believes they don't value him as much as they should.
"Unfortunately, the new front office regime doesn't value me here. They've refused to negotiate in good faith, every step of this journey has been "take it or leave it." The deal sent to me is one that would be bad for myself, and for the entire LB market if I signed it," Smith wrote. "I've been trying to get something done that's fair since April, but their focus has been on trying to take advantage of me."
Smith continued: "I wanted to be a Bear for my entire career, help this team bring a Super Bowl back to our city. However, they have left me no choice than to request a trade that allows me to play for an organization that truly values what I bring to the table."
Smith, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, had 163 combined tackles, three sacks and an interception in 2021.
At 25 years old, Smith is considered one of the best linebackers in the NFL. He has been named an All-Pro in each of the past two seasons.
If Smith is available via trade, there should be plenty of teams interested in acquiring him.

tsk tsk tsk....what a shame
I want to be a forever bear but they won't let me be a bear.
He was expertly placing it where the defender couldn't get it.
His throws are Lambeau Leaps all by themselves.
The grass at Soldier Field is in rough shape today, just an hour before the Bearsβ preseason opener against the Chiefs.
Pictures on social media show the grass with divots and pockmarks, with the field in the kind of condition that often leads players to complain β and sometimes leads to injuries.
Bears kicker Cairo Santos raised the issue of the grass this week, saying after the team practiced at Soldier Field that bad footing was one of the things he routinely has to prepare for because of the poor quality grass.
The Bears are planning to leave Soldier Field and move to the suburbs, where theyβll build their own stadium that likely will have an artificial surface. The grass isnβt the primary reason the Bears are leaving, but itβs among the many issues the Bears have with the city-owned Soldier Field.
So youβre saying theyβre Lightfooting it out of there?
You'd know that if you could read their minds.

Whatever highway they take out of Chicago, they'll be carefree.
As long as they're gone by sundown.
If you donβt know where youβre going, any road will take you there.
The Bears are being ripped on radio/media today for having no clue WTF they are doing. They signed 6!! players off of waivers they plan to place on the 53 and may cut day 2 picks from 2022 draft.
Train wreck and tells you their personnel dept has no clue... Gotta feel for Justin Fields. Soon to be Mitch Tribisky 2.0
The Chicago Bears claimed six players off of waivers today so there will be changes to their 53-man roster announced soon.
Here are the new Bears:
bears can afford to be stupid with their cash - none of it is tied up in paying good players.
Next year, the bears have $106 M in available cap space, they'll be huge players in FA. And I'm sure they have their eyes on some Packers

And I'm sure they'll use the same astute judgement they've demonstrated in recent drafts.
The Bears picked up OT Alex Leatherwood. βNo riskβ signing withpotential for quite a bit of upside.
They also signed former Viking DT Armon Watt who was very solid last year and an expected starter for MN had they stayed in a 4-3.

Totally different people making decision than prior drafts.

We shall see.

They can bring back Ha Ha.
Local sports radio in CHI have all but accepted that 2022 is a red shirt year for the new regime and everything they're doing is looking further out than this season. I have no idea if they know what they're doing but Getsy has a good offense to run if he can OC. And Uberflu knows D, if he can HC.
But don't they need a QB?

I wouldnβt write of Josh Fields just yet given the hot mess he was thrown into, ie - their HC, OL, playcalling, injuries, and general franchise ineptitude.

Only today?

The Packers had a chance to pick up another Watt and turned it down?

It could be scapegoating but everyone seems to think Nagy was a lot worse that he seemed now that he's gone and some players have been making comments about how things were under him as HC. I wouldn't write Fields off just yet either. He has a good staff working with him now too.
But fear not Bears fans, you might get to watch them in a dome. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story...uction-domed-stadium
As much as it'll suck to have another domed team in the division, it does make sense. As the article mentions, the dome would allow them to host Super Bowls (short trip for Packer fans), NCAA Final Fours, etc. - would raise some serious money for their new development and surrounding area.
All division home games after October would become a huge advantage for the Pack if this happens.
Any new billion+ stadium at the minimum should have a retractable roof. Gotta think big picture. There's a lot of opportunities outside of those 9 home game every year. 10 or 11 games if you aren't the Bears.
The park district just started putting new sod in Soldier field yesterday for Sundays home opener and rain is forecast for Sunday
