I checked with Nagler's sources (not really) and the word up is Kaepernicus is a character issue not having to do with the protests.  His talent is waning, and he's a bad locker room guy as well as a person. Not my words.

He gets moody when teammates sleep with his girlfriend.

Actually, he is the one sleeping with teammates girlfriends.

CBS is interested in hiring Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo as an analyst to replace Phil Simms as Jim Nantz’s broadcast partner, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports

CBS is so dumb. Only a matter of time before he's on IR. Can't analyze from the tub.

Unlike NCAA, IQ at the QB position is a key element in championship football. My one knock on Romo is my belief that he is one of the lowest IQ players at that position. Having said this, the CBS move would be an upgrade to IQ in the booth.

I know the Wonderlic isn't everything, but it does correlate with IQ. Romo has a higher Wonderlic (37) than Rodgers (35).

He's definitely not stupid.

Didn't they learn anything with Moss?

Yes. That they could take a character risk and make him behave for 3 years and catch more TD passes over a 3 year period than any player in history (47) playing one year with Matt Cassel as his QB. It took a miracle catch on top of a helmet for them not to finish 19-0 in Moss' first year. If Brady doesn't miss the whole season the following year, they are probably back in the Super Bowl again. As it was, the Patriots went 10-6 with Matt Cassel and caught more than half the TD passes Cassel threw that year (11 of 21). In other words, just like he did for Randall Cunningham and Culpepper, playing with Moss made Cassel a lot of money by making him look a lot better than he was.

And then, they learned that once they got 3 great years out of him, then they could trade him to the Vikings for a  3rd round pick once his act started to wear thin.

That said, there is a huge difference between Moss and AP. Moss, just like AP, is an entitled diva. However, Moss was a very smart football player (Belichick is on record saying this) and probably the most athletic WR ever. AP has the athletic part, but not the football IQ.

I'm guessing he meant football IQ which the Wonderlic can't really measure. Considering Romo's penchant for throwing Favre-esque INTs, I would say he's probably right about his low football IQ. He's had 1 tremendous season and a lot of mediocre ones as a passer. The percentage of his Interceptions/attempt is 2.7%, Rodgers 1.5% with 30+ more attempts per season. For comparison sake, Favre's INT/Att % was 3.3% while in GB.

I have always wondered if Romo hadn't been a Cowboy would he have been thought of in the same way Cutler is?  At times great stats but always seems to blow it when it counts the most.

I don't get it how everyone seems to think that he that great at this point in his career.  Hasn't played much in two years, is going to be 37 soon, and has a back older than my grandma's that is one hit away from his career being over.

But all that being said I might be tainted by my blind hatred for the Cowboys and the ESPN's Cowboys love affair.

The Packers have found defensive line help from an unlikely source. Green Bay has claimed Ego Ferguson off of waivers from the Bears, according to Field Yates of ESPN.com (on Twitter). Ego Ferguson

Ferguson, a second-round pick of the Bears’ old regime, was released last week. His exit from Chicago was a long time coming. He played in only four games in 2015 due to injuries and a suspension. Then, he missed all of last season with a shoulder injury. In total, he played in only 20 games since being drafted in 2014. In that time, the 25-year-old (26 in September) compiled 26 tackles, two sacks, and three passes defended. That’s not quite what Phil Emery had in mind when drafting him.

The Packers have gotten an up-close look at Ferguson over the past three years or so and they apparently feel that he still has something to offer. If Ferguson can get on the right track, stay healthy, and make the team, he could get multiple opportunities to make the Bears regret letting him go.

Yeah, I don't agree with bigdoggy at all.
