Maxi54, you're NOT Rick!
Who in the heck is Rick YA??
Edit: O.K.....Rick Spielman...duh, I got it! Lol! I'm a little slow on the uptake today.
Cowboys CB Brandon Carr signs with Ravens.
Carr has agreed to a four-year deal with the Ravens. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the way the deal is structured itβs more likely to end up being a two-year, $12 million contract.
Maxi54 posted:Murray's contract with the Vikes is for 3 years. He's a decent player but I'm not sure if I would have paid that much for him. I still think there's enough good backs coming out of college that if you pick the right one for your system they can be very productive for a pretty cheap price on their rookie contract. RB still seems to be one of the positions that players can come into the NFL and immediately have an impact.
Option after 1 year. It's a good contract.
I see where the Jets signed Pennell today, so the reign of Cheatriot terror should be coming to an end....until he fails his next drug test.
Jared Cook signing with Raiders.
Connor Barwin signs with the Rams. This was the guy I was hoping would end up with the Pack. Oh well...
The Rams announced on Thursday that they have signed Barwin. They did not announce the terms of the deal, but Adam Caplan of ESPN reports it is a one-year deal with a maximum value of $6.5 million.
Raiders continue to add some good pieces. Cook will be a good addition for Carr.
Yup, good signing.
I'm with MAXI. Connor Barwin on a one-year prove-me deal would have been really nice.
I would have liked to see Murray in Green Bay. Big, physical, a real banger that piled up 12 touchdown runs last year. Can catch the ball and there are some fumbles but it's not a major issue (one approximately every 90 touches...for perspective Lacy is one about every 110 touches). Murray seems to have been the type that would have complimented Montgomery well. According to overthecap.com, only 3.4 million of Murray's contract is guaranteed so it would have been a pretty low risk move too.
Someone should remind Ted that he can't get more than four compensatory picks in a single season.

Good signing for the Raiders.
they are building the Packers - west
a team that will be in the hunt year after year.
and in the face,even better.
in the afc there is only one team in the way.
the reign of the Patriots is almost over.
According to Schefter. The Raiders are trying to work out a trade with Seattle that would bring Marshawn Lynch to Oakland. Sounds like this has a realistic shot of happening.
If it does happen, does AP simply retire? Oaklands looking to fill a need at RB by trading assets for a guy that hasn't played in a year while AP Could be had for orange peanuts. Crazy.

Or maybe Murray didn't want to come to GB. Or they didn't think Murray was a good fit for the offense. Or maybe they got some inside info on Murray's character from Reggie McKenzie and weren't interested. Or maybe they're targeting a better, cheaper option in the draft. There are many more explanations for a team not signing a player besides he wants compensatory picks.
Or maybe Murray isn't a good RB.

AP probably still thinks he's worth millions of orange peanuts more than anyone else does.

Lynch won't get Carr killed on third down either.

It is insane to me that even with his issues and his injury history teams aren't lined up to sign him. But then again he probably wants insane money, is on the wrong side of 30, and maybe his feature back days are gone.
Besides being an all-me player and a PR nightmare, AP sucks in a shotgun offense and it's what everyone uses today. For him to be most effective, he has to play deep in the backfield to get a good start, see the holes, and then be able to use his jump-cut. He's not good with the QB standing next to him and giving him the ball, and his blocking just plain sucks.
@RapSheet 2h2 hours ago 2 issues for#Raiders on Marshawn: 1. They donβt want to give up picks. Maybe a cond. 7th. Maybe. 2. They are saving money for Carr/Mack
Maybe Ted will shoc..
Nevermind.

Crazy is right.
also unlikely.
Lynch is retired,
McK is no Spielman..
enough said.
just another hack trying to attain clicks on a half ass written article.
no, I will not click on the link...
there is a reason that I do not read anything written by the hacks at ESPN, sicom, and the rest. Even nfl.com is bs.
The fact is, no one knows what TT or any other GM is planning to do.
any writer that claims to know is full of shi
My opinion.
PS: BK, did I use enough capitals in this post for you?
or, are you still having problem reading what I write?
No capital offense intended - I am sure. But you will have to convince the authorities of that.

Believe me, child abuse is not something any NFL team wants to be associated with.
the Vikings were stuck with him last year due to contract.
not even the Vikings are interested in a potential media storm involving AP.
my opinion? The asshole should be in prison being gangraped.
end of story, he is a piece of ****.
Packdog posted:Jared Cook signing with Raiders.
I am happy for him.
i really hope the Raiders are for real. If so, Cook is a great pickup for them.
i wish Cook nothing but success.
Sadly, if this were even 2015 AP, I think he'd have suitors lining up. Teams are more worried about his 1.9 YPC than his child abuse.
I actually believe that he could and would average between 4 and 5 per carry... Behring the OL of Dallas.
Zeke is good, but AP makes him look like ****.
I think it will be a desperation move and a PR nightmare for any team to pick this POS up. He is a hot load of **** at this point.
Thisis no longer our fathers NFL. This NFL is designed to bring in new fans.. Women, children and let s not forget, liberals.
So conservative males are cool with child abusers, wife beaters and scumbags?

SDPF will not like this. Mods be prepared.
Am I wrong or is Bill Belichick in the process of pulling a fast one on the Saints?
He traded picks 32 and 103 for Cooks and pick 118, effectively putting a value equivalent to the 30th overall pick on Cooks. Sounds like a good deal for the Saints.
Now they Saints are talking about shipping pick 32 BACK to the Patriots for Malcolm Butler, a player who has signed his RFA tender for 3 million dollars and Belichick has basically already replaced with Stephon Gilmore. Butler is certainly a talented player, but when you look at the two trades combined (knowing Butler is valued at the 32nd pick), then the Patriots just acquired Brandin Cooks for the equivalent of a late 5th round pick. Or if you take out the 32nd pick from the deal totally, then Belichick just traded Butler and pick 103 for Cooks and pick 118, giving up the equivalent of a 5th round value and saving himself at least 1.5 million in cap space (Butler had 3 mil cap number, Cooks is only 1.5). Either way, bravo sir...
WHY do teams keep trading with the Patriots? Shouldn't the automatic thought be "Ok the Patriots want to make this trade, we know Belichick would not make the trade if they were not getting the better end of it, so we should not do it"
Seems like we got the better end of the deal when we traded for the pick to get CMIII
