There was a lot of complaining when the Packers lost Jumal Rolle to the Texans a couple of years ago.  He's just been cut by the Bills.  Looks like Carl Bradford and Sam Barrington are one the wrong side of the bubble in Buffalo as well.

If he would renegotiate his contract then the Packers should take Marcell Dareus of the Bills hands. Dareus next to Daniels would be dangerous. He hates playing for the Bills, I think his attitude would change playing for a winner.

I think the Bills would love to get rid of him.  He was sent home from Baltimore prior to last weeks game because he missed the team buses to the stadium.  He's also missed the beginning of the last two seasons because of suspensions.

Maybe this is the season we'll see Opposite Ted.   Maybe the "ANTI-Ted" will arise and take a chance and go "all-in" on getting those players that will make this defense compete week in and week out for the title of the Best Defense in the NFL.  Maybe we'll see Ted take a chance on getting good players with a trade of draft picks NOW -- realizing that the "window" with AR gets smaller each passing year.

Nah....won't happen.

I'm too lazy to look it up. I'll bet if you took the top 5 highest paid QBs in the NFL I'll bet collectively they aren't .500 in playoff games. The only reason they collectively might be over .500 is Drew Brees is in that group (I think)

But it's the same tired line every time a marginal QB inks the newest record contract. "You have to have a franchise QB".

The problem with Dareus is that 1) he's in year 3 of a 6 year/96 mil with 44 mil of guaranteed money still on the books and 2) he's 1 bad drug test away from a year suspension. If he would renegotiate down to a reasonable contract and the Bills would take whatever for him, then I would take him on.

I thought I would do the research for you.  First, I googled the top 5 highest paid QBs for 2017.  The results might surprise you.  Second, Brady isn't in the top 11 in terms of pay.  He makes 20.5 mill/yr - good enough for 12th on that list.  Third, you are right about their records.  In fact 3 of the top five have never won a playoff game.  So here is my results:

MONEY!

The sudden decision of the Browns to cut veteran cornerback Joe Haden came after the Browns tried to trade him. It also came after the Browns tried to get him to take less money.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Browns asked Haden to reduce his $11 million base salary before releasing him. Haden, obviously, declined.

He exits with $4 million in guaranteed money, but the Browns likely won’t be on the hook for that amount. The belief is that Haden will end up with more money elsewhere than what the Browns offered on a reduced deal.

Like all players with four or more years of service released before the trade deadline, Haden instantly becomes a free agent. He can pick any team he wants. He could be inclined to pick a team that is likely to do something he’s never done — play in the postseason.

Have Joe Haden's skills declined or was his desire to play for the Browns so low that he gave a minimal effort? He looked slower than he used to and his tackling is terrible. I guess it depends on what his money demands are going to be. He could be a guy who would be highly motivated by playing for a winner and have a career resurgence or the Browns could have gotten rid of him a year too late.

I'd be surprised if TT and Co. don't already have a book on him, maybe it was injuries and a suck team.

I'd also be surprised if they sign him, slightly less if they bring him in for a visit. Adding King and House was a fair amount for TT.

I think it probably had to do with playing for that dumpster fire in Cleveland.  It has to wear on a player to know that no matter what the season is going to suck.  I would be absolutely floored if TT was in the mix to sigh Haden.

Browns trade swing tackle Cam Irving to KC for 5th round pick. So the rebuild goes on. Joe Thomas is going to retire soon. He's gotta' be sick of that place.

Cam Irving isn't worth a 5th rounder BTW....

I'm thinking TT feels he has done more than enough to strengthen the CB position.

Hah!  Youre probs right. What TT thinks about our CBs may not pan out on the field. Can't cover. Can't tackle. Btw still have Capers. The D will bury us again in playoffs this year.

I do remember that and thinking " woah. Not too smart." MM was pretty decent but the other two sucked and injured. They call that the Moss Effect now, right?

It was very smart. Ron W. knew and still knows what a crapshoot the draft is. Plus the vagaries of injury, etc.

He also knew the Vikings had gotten a generational talent in Moss. So he resorted to volume shooting. Mike McKenzie was a darn good player his first couple seasons in GB. (Loved watching MM and Al Harris at their GB peak, BTW.)

Have you watched the preseason games? Gunter goes from being number 1 at season end, to #5 CB now, that is an indication of amount of improvement in our DBs. This is the most speed / talent we've had on that side of the ball in a number of years.

Watched preseason games.  Can't cover.  Can't tackle.

In hindsight, it is pretty common to agree that the three corners were a flop. Only one panned out.  Missed on some difference makers but whatever.

The hope is Rollins and Randall play more like 2015 than 2016 and that it was injuries that impacted their play.  We forget how good both guys looked their rookie seasons.   So far in the preseason they have played a lot better.  King is a work in progress but has talent for sure.

We'll see. I think Lacy is going to carve us up in game 1, then the rest of the league does the same **** as always to Capers.  Guys can't tackle. Even Matthews can't tackle. The D schemes are an embareass.   they have to tackle these ****in guys better. but covering isn't even hoped for right now.  turrible!~
