It's more disappointment with Lacy.  After his first two years and how MM kept his carries down, I thought he was going to be a pro bowl RB for us until 2020.  But man, the guy just could not stop eating.  That's pretty rare for a RB too.  And if it's true he's at 267 lbs, I cannot believe anyone signed him.  That's 20 lbs over a maximum weight, and probably 35 lbs over his ideal weight.  That's just not acceptable for a professional athlete.

It does stink. Eddie is a good kid. ****ty childhood the likes the majority of us can't comprehend. Never was able to actually just be a kid growing up in a normal home. Lived in FEMA trailer. Bought his parents a home through some hard assed effort.

I do hope the rest of his life is better than how it's started. He's never hurt anyone. Never broken any laws. I don't think the NFL is going to work out but it's not completely on him.

I really wanted to make fun of this. Latavius effing Murray. When you get a chance to sign a guy that averages 4.0 yards per carry and ran for 700 yards last year behind one of the top two OLs in football you have to pull the trigger and sign him. You can't find production like that just anywhere.

Then I saw "one of their better moves in recent memory" and it struck me that it might actually be one of their better moves in recent memory.

The Vikings are desperate to win the offseason because that's about all they've got.  Been that way for 20 years or so now. Get the fan base all lathered up by signing a bunch of free agents that usually don't make anywhere near the impact they were expecting.

Through all of this I'm curious to see how they respond given some of THEIR losses (such as Munnerlyn, Greenway, and probably AD).

I believe signing Murray as opposed to aging AP was a sound move. I think taking a chance on Dante Jones in a 4-3 defense was a no risk move that could prove beneficial. I don't think it's NFC North altering and I believe the Packers, who usually treat high profile FA's like something needed to be scraped from the bottom of their shoes, got the FA most likely to make an impact.

I can see why some Packer fans, reading the click bait from various writers that make it seem as though John Brockington (after his rookie season), a young Willie Davis, a young Herb Adderley and a young Forrest Gregg, had been lost in FA, are a bit defensive. They get paid by the number of folks who open those links.

Now if you're going to jettison Charles Woodson in favor of M.D. Jennings and Jerron Mcmillian then.........

Murray was a solid signing by a team that realizes it might not have enough draft picks to spend one on one of the deeper positions in this draft. Remmers and Reiff are Marshall Newhouse-types but the Queens were desperate and there's a distinct lack of quality O-tackles in the draft. Their defensive line should be good and have quality depth, but that's about it.

Murray's contract with the Vikes is for 3 years. He's a decent player but I'm not sure if I would have paid that much for him. I still think there's enough good backs coming out of college that if you pick the right one for your system they can be very productive for a pretty cheap price on their rookie contract. RB still seems to be one of the positions that players can come into the NFL and immediately have an impact.
