Personally. I’d prefer GB drafts a permanent long term fix at RT and Philbin installs an offense predicated on timing and balance with two really good looking kids at RB.

Reduce the stress on Rodgers. And the number of hits he takes.

Truth be told, ARod has taken quite a beating over the last couple of years. Even if he wants to play another 5+ years, he may not be able to without some O-line stability.
I think we have enough interior guys to have adequate, if not good, Guards, but definitely need another starting-caliber T with depth that isn't Barclay, Newhouse, or Spriggs.
McCray, Murphy, and/or Patrick should make good 'swing' backups at either position if they don't develop enough to be a starter.
I'm not as impressed by Linsley as the Packers are, but we need an adequate backup there. Maybe a new long snapper?

Much of the beatings he’s taken are born out of progressing through 5 reads and then turning that into positive yards. Some of that is absolutely on Aaron for wanting a bigger play when something easy was there to begin with.

At some point Brady decided that Edelman underneath for 7 yards beat a 300lb DE on top of you.

Rodgers has to be getting close to that point.

First MM has to make that route available.    We see that game plan about once a season, we all get sticky underpants, then we revert back to the same ole let #12 buy time and school yard it until someone finally gets open.

And even then I don’t think Sam brings anything to the table.

If SammyB brings nothing, what did Hundley bring? If healthy, you couldn't ask for a better backup. But if healthy, he will be starting somewhere.

To me, if the NFL wants to be cooler than it is, whenever they reject an "illegal" request like this, they should accompany their email to the offending team with a video on loop of Dikembe Mutumbo giving the finger wag along with the caption:  "No, no, no!!  No, no, no!!"

What's Rodgers new deal gonna look like now?  30 mill per?

I'm thinking $1 Billion with a "B"

Maybe we'll trade him to the Vikings. 😉

One last kick in the balls for Cousins.

There has to be something going on behind the scenes for the Redskins that they seemed like they couldn't move on fast enough from him.  Cousins is way better than the QB's they have put out there for what since the early 90's?

My prediction is that he will be a Bronco about 30 seconds in to free agency.

Just who got kicked in the balls is open for debate.  I realize Cousins hasn't been able to get a contract done with Washington to his satisfaction, but he has had 2 years of franchise player pay - which is considerable.  However, Smith has had a tough road too.  49ers get Kap and trade Smith.  Now KC gets Mahomes and now he gets traded again.  The only thing his trade to Washington guarantees is that Washington will draft a guy, fall in love with him, and then trade Smith - AGAIN.

On a related note, the NFL draft is going to dump another 3 or 4 serious QB contenders into the league.  2 of the 3 Viking QBs will likely be looking for places with needs of a starting QB.  A few teams could be dumping their starting QBs because they don't think they are good enough anymore or are overpriced.  Even if they all played musical QBs, some would be left without a job.  So, 1) could GB gets a veteran backup with what is left?  or 2) the Curt Warner effect in reverse?

I just don't think Cousins is anything more than a third tier QB.  He's significantly behind Brady and Rodgers in that top tier, and well behind second tier guys like Brees, Roethlisberger, Luck (if healthy), Wilson, Ryan, Rivers, Newton, Wentz and Stafford.  He's in a third tier with Carr, Goff, Prescott, Mariota and Winston. Guys that you can probably call franchise QBs, but haven't really done anything other than play a lot at a competent level.  It'd be insane paying a guy $30m AAV who hasn't won a single playoff game, knowing he's probably the 12th best at his position.

I agree that Cousins isn't top tier, but I think the problem with him is that there are times he plays amid the Brees, Wilson, Rivers, et al, group and then there are absolutely head-scratching times he plays in the lower third-tier guys. He'll get the team in position to do something special and then make a back-breaking mistake that absolutely torpedoes his team. He's 28 now and it's tough to know if he'll ever be consistent.

Should bring a smile to AR's face.

Considering they are currently in "discussions" I would suspect the Packers are doing everything they can to get him signed before the season starts.

My bet is that AR is waiting for Foles and Cousins to sign their deal, and will want 75+% guaranteed. What's interesting is that he's lost over a full season to collar bones, and then gimped through with that partial calf tear.

I think any other quarterback his age would have a tough time selling that much guaranteed money, but it's gotta be done. According to the wizards at ESPN he's already the front-runner for MVP next year. Given his collar bone wasn't fully healed when he came back last last season, I suspect that game film won't cause any hurdles.

Further reports that Garoppolo got 74 million in guaranteed money. Garoppolo certainly looked good, but it is important to keep in mind he's thrown 12 TDs in his CAREER.

I think where this is headed (if franchise QBs are going to get 30-35 million a year) is that it will critical to try to win with your franchise QB while they are on their rookie contract or a relatively team-friendly deal. It's much easier to build a Super Bowl team when your QBs cap hit is 700K (Russell Wilson in 2013) or even 6.5 million (Rodgers in 2010) than when your guy is getting what 3-4 other impact players on offense and defense are getting cumulatively.

Jimmy Garoppolo’s deal with the #49ers averages a league-high $27.5 million over five years with total guarantees totaling $74 million, per source.

Cousins isn't top tier? he had a bunch of turds at WR, RB, and TE. Give Cousins the talent that rapin' Jamesis has in TB

Foles isn't a free agent.

Most assume Foles will be traded to some one who will give them high picks for him (see Bradford, S.).  But nobody is certain yet when Wentz will be a 100% back from that knee so PHI may want to roll with Foles at second chair for one more season.  Safer play though his trade value will probably never be higher than it is this offseason.

The current regime in Philly seems to be pretty sharp.....I doubt they get rid of Foles this year.  Foles also appears to be pretty sharp and and he has learned the grass is not always greener.  He will get a sweet raise and a chance to play meaningful games till Wentz gets healthy and another ring is not out of the question.

BUT, if some team offer a 2 number ones all bets are off.   And as we know, not all NFL teams operate smartly.

Cousins definitely not top tier.  Too inconsistent between his top performances and his worst.  Maybe top tier of current available FA QB's.  I would put him below AR, Brady, Ryan, Wilson, Roethlisberger, Wentz, Stafford, Brees.  More like A. Smith, Prescott, Keenum, Flacco, et.al.
