If someone that shouldn't have ever been available at 14 isn't available at 14. Given the FA acquisitions. Isn't it starting to feel like GB might listen to offers to trade down from that 14th pick? Maybe pick up an additional 2nd rounder?

Matthews isn't a slot WR. 6'3" 220lb with 4.46 speed. He's outside material. He just needs two things. Health and a QB. He hasn't much of either in his NFL career. He'd get one in GB. And probably less of the other.
I'm more interested in Pryor for health and upside, but Matthews is 25, so if the knee is good, the potential is pretty high too.
Cost should be reasonable, right?

Honestly, I think it might be the other way around. If a truly coveted player is within reach, go up. Don't have to rely on every pick filling a need.
I don't know much about Jordan Matthews... but if he's "good", AR will make him great.
I support any player's choice to exercise his first amendment right to express himself by kneeling.

Jordan was a Chip Kelly slot guy when he was drafted. And Jordan took a beating. Big frame in the slot mixing it up in the middle. But he still led the NFL in yards from the slot since 2014. The guy behind Matthews for most yards from the slot since 2014 is Randall Cobb.

Honestly, I think it might be the other way around. If a truly coveted player is within reach, go up. Don't have to rely on every pick filling a need.
IMO. The only guy worth going up to get is Quenton becasuse everything about him screams perennial All Pro interior lineman. Otherwise I say let the draft fall in your lap and take the BPA for seven rounds and 12 picks. Especially if they land Matthews and Reid on the cheap.

I wondered about that term for him myself. But thats what he has been called. I like that he is being considered regardless of his injury history.
No thanks on Matthews. Eagles dumped him for a reason. He was awful in Buffalo last year.

Suspect the deal with Tramon is more like a one year deal with a one year option should the Packers like what they see. Apparently played well in Arizona last year and he brings much-needed veteran leadership to the secondary. Really like the move and it appears very low-risk to me.

I have to say that even if these moves dont all pan out at least the guy is using the system. Jordan Matthews is a decent player and if he can stay healthy that move will be a good one.
don't know much of anything about Matthews but it's gotta feel good to have a ping pong ball sized piece of bone removed from your ankle!

Interesting if they sign him. GB receiving corps has been home grown pretty much the whole time AR has been here. When is the last time we had a non-drafted WR on the field? Koren Robinson?
RD2 draft pick, has talent but needs to produce.
Gute shows that he's not going to stand pat with what we've had for years. Signing Matthews shows Geronimo, Davis, Clark, Yancey, et al, that coaches/GM are not satisfied with WRs and are willing to shake things up. They've been put on notice as has the entire D.
