I can't imagine Sitton wants to come be a veteran backup, he said he thinks he has prime years left. Also I don't know what his contract demands will be, but even if he takes vet minimum that's still $1 million+. Lucas Patrick has shown improvement, offers more versatility, and makes less than $500K. McCray looks to be an ascending player in the mold of Lane Taylor, I think he'll end up being the #1 RG and Patrick and Murphy will backup both spots.

What don't some of you guys get? Sitton was actively challenging coaches by refusing to do certain drills, loudly discussing contract matters in the locker room, and generally viewed as a bad influence on younger players & the team culture. They took a cap hit by cutting him, so pretty much paid him to NOT be here.....but now you want them to pay him to be here? I just heard Bill Polian talking about this subject last night. He said that the most important thing is team / organization culture, but it something that the bloggers & fans never think about when they speculate moves teams should make.

You can’t teach protection like this. It’s simply a function of natural IQ. A LG reading a corner blitz from the opposite side and eliminating it after determining no threat.

This kid is going to be a star.

GB should give up whatever it takes to get him. Quenton Nelson is a football player. You want a guy like Quenton on your OL for the next decade.

Ok, let the speculation begin.

Wilkerson cut by Jets, I believe if my timeline is correct Pettine was the DC coordinator of the Jets when he had his best years.  Most reports having him being a malcontent lately....probably still worth a look, at the right price.

Daniels, Clark, Lowery and Wilkerson on paper sounds very formidable.

Wilkerson is 28. But yes, the consensus is once he got paid, he put it all in neutral.

Wilkerson pushed Todd Bowles and the Jets coaching staff to the brink on multiple occasions. In the middle of an underwhelming 2016 season, Wilkerson skipped out on a team meeting, inadvertently missing his own birthday party, at which he was to be presented with a cake. "I'm told they even had a cake ready to go for him and he didn't show up," NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported at the time.

Near the end of the 2017 season, Wilkerson was benched for the first quarter of New York's win over Kansas City and didn't travel with the team to a game in New Orleans, as punishment for behavioral issues.

Jets brass and fans alike had had it with Wilkerson, who they perceived as putting in far less effort since securing his mega-deal. After signing the pact in 2016, the pass rusher recorded just eight sacks; if you do the math, Gang Green paid $4.6 million per sack.

All malcontents are not created equal. Also, 'Packer People' used to be an elixir for these types. Not anymore?

Not since Woodson left. You need a strong leader to rein in/butt kick a guy like Wilkerson. There's not one guy on D today who everyone looks to as the leader and who commands that respect. Daniels is closest, but he's not an every-down player and he has a big mouth. Without that leader, you risk the malcontent taking over.
