holy crap. did not see that coming at all. mid-season was my expectation.
Not holding my breath, but then again, Dom is no longer in charge...
#Packers believe OLB Kyler Fackrell is "a lot different player" than in the past. With a steady dose of first-team reps in camp's opening week, Fackrell knows "thereβs a high sense of urgency for me to produce." https://t.co/1gPtyC3iXk

"Late-blooming"
I'm a skeptic until I see consistent production in actual games.

Let's break this tweet down.
1) "a lot different player". Okay.
2) "there's a high sense of urgency for me to produce". Gooblygook will actually cut your ass. Can't even remember how many times I've heard this from scrubs.
3) "Late bloomer", "unproven", "need to see emerge"
I'm sold.

That is one great horse.
I'll bet you guys crush Pictionary.
#Packers QB Brett Hundley with a rough red-zone drill. Holds onto ball too long (wouldβve been a sack) before throwing it away, then tosses a pick to Josh Jackson on next snap. Did end drill with good ball to DeAngelo Yancey, but he dropped it.

Looks like we will need more than a few hamstring transplants this year
Saw this before with Hundley
Free agent #JakeKumerow, from UW-#Whitewater, might have been the second or third best WR behind Davante Adams on #Packers' roster through the first week of practice. Dusted Jaire Alexander deep on double move in one-on-one's Fri aft. In sync with 12, getting more reps with 1's.

Bulaga back, Fackrell a new man and Kumerow lighting it up.
What you talkin' 'bout Willis?

Nobody wants to be hung like a cart now, do they?

Bulaga is as tough as they come.
Old Fackrell doesn't make the 53, so he better be a new man.
Kumerow = this years "All Oneida"?
Gonna be shocked if Kumerow makes the PS
Kumerow = This year's Max McCaffrey
More polished than the rookie wideouts but with very limited upside.
Kumerow offers more at WR than Davis or Yancey. Does Davis offer more than anyone else in the return game? WR battle is going to be epic
The Kumerow/Bosa family is interesting as all of them descend from one of the more notorious Mobsters of a bygone era Tony Accardo nicknamed "Joey Batters". He was a guy that allegedly killed 3 persons with a baseball bat.
If McCarthy cuts this guy, maybe he should invest in keeping a bodyguard around for a few weeks post cut?
AR on Jake Kumerow.
Kumerow is a more polished version of Brett Swain. Try hard guy thatβs cut his teeth on a couple rosters. Heβs limited but you like a guy like him on the 53. He wonβt be where heβs not supposed to be. There is value in that.

Joey Whizbatter.

I think the "upside" factor is actually a detriment to positive roster building (see: Vanillaface RunFastGuy).
If the guy can ball at this level his upside is plenty good. Kumerow or another guy could be a TC wonder but what's the difference between putting a guy with limited upside who does all the right things vs. super wonder boy riding pine? As long as they are CORRECTLY EVALUATED (Hundley sucks) a baller is a baller.
The next obvious question is do the evaluators have any upside?
I'm not clutching my pearls over any of these guys simply because measuring "potential" isn't exactly a strong suit for this coaching staff.
michiganjoe posted:More polished than the rookie wideouts but with very limited upside.
Limited upside? The guy is 6β4, has impressive 4.54 speed for his size, runs good routes and picked up GBβs system better than his competitors in camp (so he has the smarts and/or instincts). Whatβs limited?
Sometimes it seems those kind of cliches get tossed around for no reason. What do you mean? He looks like a beast and a baller to me.
(If you Google his name, there are some highlights from Cincinnati showing decent RAC ability too, so donβt say RAC.)

This year's Gillett. Was that the dude's name? Wore #1.
Jordy ran a 4.51. Just sayin'.
Countdown to "convert Kumerow to TE comment"...

Exactly.
Bunch of old schmucks trying to crush a kids dream because we think we know best. **** sometimes we suck.
Someone will get hurt this training camp, so depth will mater.
6'5" and fast, might have learned something about being a WR on practice squads. Probably going to be his gunner work on ST that sets him apart. If he can catch in traffic in the Red Zone, that makes a huge difference as well.
I still the Geronimo is the one that surprisingly doesn't make the team. Doesn't mean Jake makes the team either. But Gute does seem to like his WR competition.
At some point it makes sense to keep the player that is producing now versus the guy who isn't, but has potential to do so in the future.
Derrrrrrrr
Would not call him "fast", but "fast enough", a lot like Adams's speed.

AR said in an interview that Geronimo will "make some big plays for us this year". I don't think he is going anywhere.

Interesting!
Iβm renting a boat on Fallen Leaf Lake in Tahoe this weekend and its the exact lake Costner pulled a kid off a boat that blew up in front of Whitney and she went full white hatred in The Bodyguard.

That's simple. A hung cart is like a hung jury in a grocery store.

If you were hung like a horse you'd know.
Apparently, the etymology is from the Bible: Ezekiel 23:20. Somebody ought to go to a game with that on a sign instead of "John 3:16".
