Confirmed. No One has ever had 3 carries over 85 yards other than Bo. But Ahman Green has some serious cred in looking these numbers over. My goodness he was good.
Bo was like nothing we may ever see again. Go back to his early years at Auburn and follow that to when he blew his hip out on a 40 yd run against a defeated Bengal team in the playoffs. His NFL career ended after he completely killed a team
Not trying to change or alter the dialogue here. Bo and Sterling are HOFs. Period.
On to 2018. Sorry for the disruption.

Bo Jackson was a blast to watch for a short time, but he's not HOF
I need to fact check this a lot more. But I believe Bo is the only RB to have 3 carries over 85 yards in the history of Football. During his 5 year hobby.
Good point, I forgot about the "three carries over 85 yards" rule
Adrian Peterson would be a HOF lock if the threshold was set at 80.
AP is first ballot. Not my point.
What did you see?
A brown bear
I miss Dennis Hopper.
I think i'm gonna watch Flashback this weekend
fightphoe93 posted:If there's some Hall Of Fame for general athletic freaks, Bo Jackson would be my first choice to be elected in. I agree he just didn't accomplish enough to make it in the NFL HOF. Incredible shining star for a brief moment, still haven't seen an athlete of that caliber enter the NFL since Bo was injured in '90 playoffs.
Agreed, but then I never really got the chance to see Jim Brown and Ernie Davis play.
Maybe a discussion for another time. Season 100 starts tomorrow.
All defenses really had to do during most of Sterling Sharpe's career was stop Sterling Sharpe. That's really it. Not a ton of other weapons.
And they couldn't do it.
And it's here!
Packersnews.com is live blogging today's first practice.

Good stuff there already, including this from MM's first pre-practice presser:
McCarthy says he doesn't think there's a threat for Nick Perry (ankle) and Bryan Bulaga (knee) to miss the start of the season.
And Bulaga?? Hmmm...

What about the mid, end and playoffs?
packerboi posted:And Bulaga?? Hmmm...
Yup, the injury must be career ending. I never take injury info from MM.

With NFL Sunday Ticket, there is no excuse for anyone to miss a single second of the start of the season.
Except if you stream it. POS stream. I had better streams out of East Asia.
There's a urology joke in there somewhere.
OMG there is teaching going on. Learn your assignments!
From live blogs:
Pettine playing QB in the team defense walk through. Havenβt seen that before. No throwing, just ordering offensive guys to shift to see how defense reacts.
Pettine putting defense through drill working strictly on assignments off of offensive personnel shifts. No running. No snap of the ball. Never saw this under Dom.

Jesus ****q. Does he think this is pop warner?
Rodgers first pass of camp is picked by Kevin King. Deep up the right sideline to Cobb.

Tramon Williams, Davon House and Kevin King are first up at corner in initial team work.

Season's over. Thanks Danica.
On first set of team drills in #Packers camp, CB Kevin King leaped over TE Lance Kendricks to intercept Aaron Rodgers. Hell of a play. Got a rise out of the crowd. Aaron Rodgersβ first pass of camp intercepted by Kevin King, who goes up high to take the ball away on a fade route.
Bam!
Rodgers just found Adams late on the left sideline and made a ridiculous throw that just looked routine to beat House.
β Aaron Nagler (@AaronNagler) July 26, 2018
Rodgers then hits Jimmy Graham on a cross. Graham is hard to miss. Towers over the field.
β Aaron Nagler (@AaronNagler) July 26, 2018
If these 2 stay healthy, I think we're going to see this a lot:
Rodgers hits Graham again on the left sideline, beating Clinton-Dix who had very good coverage.

Sounds like King lit the ol' fire in Rodgers!
JK Scott averages 54.8 yards and 4.39 second hang time in first pints against the rush. Did have wind from behind and the rush was not guys in full pads laying out to block the kick.
β Tom Silverstein (@TomSilverstein) July 26, 2018
Yards and Pints? It isn't even Oktober yet.
Based the news from day 1. Iβd like to adjust my season prediction from 13-3 to 12-4. Donβt really like the energy coming from the tweets today. Hope Iβm wrong.
Not a bad start for Opie on day 1:
On first punt drill vs. rush, Scott averages 55 yards on 6 punts with 4.39 second hang time, breeze at his back.

I've already given up on 2018 and am looking forward to the 2019 draft to give me hope.
I don't think there is anything left for the whizburger kid to prove until at least his first PS game and then WK1. Everybody's heard about what he can do in a practice setting. No real surprises anymore.

****ing Rodgers. When is he going to quit throwing picks? Same mofo threw 7 picks in 2016. No wonder we sucked.
J'Mon Moore made the most of his opportunities today. A few real nice catches running with the 1s. We'll see if he can keep it up.
β Aaron Nagler (@AaronNagler) July 26, 2018
Real test for Opie will come when he has to kick in the elements. Only practice, but he's off to an impressive start.

I have officially arrived to the 21st century. For the first time ever, from my phone I set the DVR to record this. I hope I didn't fudge it up.
Trying hard to suppress my excitement over Moore. If heβs as advertised having a legitimate option behind Adams and Cobb makes the offense very 2011 like. Nothing against Geronimo but Moore introduces a real threat on bubble screens that really hasnβt existed in a while.
I don't care as much about bubble screens as I do speed and hands down the field. Add those two things plus more-than-competent route-running and DBs and safeties aren't going to be sitting on those short and mid routes...
